Cash only**** but super cheap ice cream and amazing staff with a personal touch when giving some out! 10/10 recommendation.

Came here on a whim a few weeks back. Tons of awesome and unique flavors and really good. Loved the little courtyard overlooking the water. Note that they are cash only. read more

One of the best gems in Milford, Connecticut is Scoopy-Doo's. It is located on the same grounds as the Milford Oyster Festival. Everything about the place is awesome right down to its creative name. Most people would typically eat their lunch and then get dessert. However, with long lines for the oysters, having dessert first was not a hardship. Many of us agreed it was a great decision. Their spectacular flavors are delicious and the service is great. I was adventurous today and instead of my usual chocolate fudge, I branched out this time to the Almond Joy. Both flavors are equally fabulous and next time I will have to get a scoop of each. It is so much fun to sit on the wall to the right side and watch every age from one year to 100 years old get super excited to dig into the best ice cream anywhere. read more

What a creative ice cream spot. They have so many flavors, many of which you've never heard of before. I'm not sure how it all fits in the tiny hut! It's a small spot, but there's lot of nice seating and green space to enjoy your ice cream. Yes, the line can be gone, but as the sign says, "it's worth the wait." The strawberry was one of the best strawberries I have gotten in a long time - pure and with lots of strawberry chunks. The monkey flavor - with banana ice cream and chocolate- was very creative. My grasshopper was refreshing! I'd go here a lot if I was still living in the area, for sure. Handy wet wipes and plenty of paper towels available outside. read more

Scoopy Doo's win's the 4th star because they are loaded with ice cream flavor options & it couldn't be located in a better place, by the peaceful Milford Harbor - with an added bonus of plenty of parking & places to sit. The ice cream itself is a little grainy but flavors are good. Service is quick. Bring CASH. Cash only. read more

We adore this downtown Milford staple for its prime location/views, colorful exterior, and attractive name... the ice cream flavor just misses the mark as compared to some other local ice cream shoppes. Nonetheless, we will continue to support of Milford's signature local businesses! Expect a line on any nice day or night. read more

Had a delicious cup of ice cream by the water with a friend today. I ordered the Sandbar Swirl. The serving size was perfect and it was good. The ambiance of the waterfront location was great, especially on such a hot day. The breeze was perfect. Still not my favorite ice cream shop in town, but definitely tasty! read more

Tiny ice cream shack that has a solid variety of flavors supplied from Buck's Ice Cream. I got a chocolate chip ice cream in a waffle cone and it was ok, but not the best I have had. The waffle cone was generic as well. The good thing about the ice cream, however, was that it had a good amount of chips in it. Although their ice cream may not be anything special in itself, the woman working there was very friendly and the area around Scoopy Doo's is GEORGEOUS! There are a bunch of picnic tables that are directly overlooking a large body of water. 5/10 read more

This place is decent, my scoop was a bit freezer burned but I'm chocking it up to the fact that it is almost the end of the season for them (hopefully that is the case!). I got the Swamp flavor in a cup and it was filled with M&M chips but the malt balls were nowhere to be found... read more

Ice cream was crystallized, not creamy and lacking ingredients listed on menu. Coffee Oreo had zero Oreo. Overpriced and not worth the hype.

The ice cream is good and staff is nice there so many choices of flavors to choose from and the ice cream tastes delicious and tasty

A friend who lived close recommended to go to Scoopy Doo's for some ice cream. I will note, I did not know this was hard ice cream only before going. The ice cream shack is a cute little shop with very nice views. The shack has a bunch of different flavor ice creams and the staff is extremely friendly. I ordered a basic mint chocolate chip in a cup. The ice cream was good but had some freezer burn. Overall, I wouldn't be in a rush to go back to this location and if there was a line, I wouldn't wait for it. But if I am in the area and a few friends want it and the line is short, I would try something different. read more

If I could give this place NO STARS I would. My husband gets back into the car with a small size styrofoam coffee cup... they charged him $4.75 for an ice cream shake in a tiny coffee cup with a coffee cup top, that the second he stuck the straw in it went out the side of the cup. So now he's sucking his shake out the side and it's all over the car. read more

It was the beginning of the season when I went, so they were just reopening. My ice cream was freezer burnt which was very disappointing.

Had the pleasure of coming here many times and figured I'd put a review for Scoopy Doo's. To start off it is a very well kept quaint little ice cream shop. The staff was never anything but kind on every day I have visited, and the ice cream itself was amazing, with a surprisingly decent sized menu granted the size of the shop. It's a staple snack of my family each and every time we'll take a boat ride to Milford. 10/10 would recommend! read more

This is a great little ice cream stand along the harbor where you can grab a cup or cone and sit on a bench to boat and people watch. There is a great array of ice cream flavors and gelato and sorbet too (recommend trying quick sand or coconut). They even have ice cream for your pup with a dog biscuit! Staff is friendly and service is quick. I would definitely recommend this as the best place to get ice cream in Milford! Note there is only outdoor seating and it's cash only. read more

Scoopy Doo's is a Milford, CT staple. This place is right on the water, so if you aren't in a rush, grab a cup or cone and sit on one of the benches by the boats. This place is cash only, so make sure to have some on you when you come. It can be somewhat expensive for ice cream, but I do believe it is the best in the area. If you like black raspberry anything, get the Doo Drops, it is actually incredible! You can get their ice cream in pint sizes to go too, so you have it at home for later! read more

Came here for a sweet treat with some friends on a day trip to Milford from NYC. Small shop that's basically just a window but lots of flavors to choose from. They were really patient with us trying a lot of samples but it was so hard to decide! I ended up getting the swamp, which is vanilla malt ice cream with caramel swirls, crushed Oreos, M&Ms, and malted milk balls. It was quite delicious and definitely satisfied my sweet tooth with all the candy in it. It's nothing fancy or sophisticated but it's a cute little spot for some good ice cream! read more

The most yummy ice cream! I love it here so many chooses. They even have vegan options and gluten free options! Scoopy Doo's serves up some pretty tasty ice cream. I highly recommend The Swamp! Very good ice cream shop for downtown Milford, convenient for after lunch/dinner nearby. They have a wide variety of ice cream flavors and toppings which make it worth several visits. It's right next to a marina with plenty of chairs and benches so you can watch the ducks and ships float by. Personally, I prefer the Sundae House not too far away (about a mile down the road) if you're mobile. Great if you're near the green space though. read more

Oh man. The cappuccino gelato. Probably the best I've had in a while. I'm never disappointed at this place. It's walk-up, so don't go in the rain. Ice cream is for sunny nights anyway. The sizing is typical nonsensical creamery - one scoop, then kids, then small, medium, etc. One scoop is perfect for after dinner. The only thing better in the area is probably Wentworth's in Hamden. This is right on par with Ashley's in NH. read more

Nothing special. Cute little ice cream store. My scoop of ice cream had a little freezer burn. My daughter had a kid's sundae. McDonald's hot fudge sundae tasted better. My husband did get a chocolate milkshake for $5. He said it was good. It was small for the price. It's good if your in the area but definitely not worth pit stop. read more

Great ice cream. The staff are fast and very friendly. The portions are excellent. Its located downtown and around the marina. So it offers a nice spot in a safe area to sit. I often drive further down the road to the beach and eat my ice cream there and catch a pretty sunset. The street can get loud at night with the bar crowd making their way to the multitude of establishments. This is a nice town and often these people are just loud but friendly. **Parking can be a pain with the bar crowd stealing spots. Hopefully management can get some signs for reserving spots for only Scoopy Doo costumers. It would improve the experience. read more

In celebration of National Ice Cream Day my girl and I decided to head to Scoopy Doos. They offer many options but all the hand written menus are a bit over whelming. This place deserves almost full acknowledgment just by the name! Okey, I don't give them 5 stars because they don't have dark chocolate and they seem to carry the same flavors every year. Where's the creativity! Anyway, the do have a big array of flavors and gelattos. So everyone will find something. I wholeheartedly recommend theirs as the best banana ice cream in New England. Then...the place...what is there to be said. Within the Milford Marina, it is dreamy and tranquil as Tim Burton could 've thought of. Nice walk. Only open during boating season: May through Halloween. read more

I had just moved to Milford, CT and discovered this tucked away gem. Scoopy's offers a variety of flavors in ice cream, sorbets, and gelatos. They have your traditional favorites like chocolate, vanilla, and butter pecan as well as the not so traditional for the more adventorous types! They ranged from ginger to roasted almond to house favorites like the swamp (cookies and cream ice cream with malthed milk balls mixed in) and quick sand (vanilla ice cream with caramel and butterfinger). It's a cute little place right on the water, so you can grab your 2 scoop ice cream for about $3.50 and grab a seat and boat watch. Don't forget this place is CASH ONLY!!!!!! read more

Had high hopes for this establishment. It has many flavor options. The reason I'm giving this a 2 stars is because ice cream had FREEZER BURN!
