I always opt for the rolled ice cream since that's what they specialize in, and I'm pretty sure they're the only store around serving it too. Expect a bit of a wait though since it's made-to-order and a fairly labor-intensive process! You get to watch them craft your creation on a frozen pan, but it can take longer than 5 minutes to prepare, and even longer during peak times. The texture is denser than traditional ice cream and the colder serving temperature makes rolled ice cream less prone to melting quickly, allowing you to bask in its deliciousness for a longer period of time without it turning into a soupy mess. Personally I feel they go a little overboard with the toppings, so for a slightly less sweet experience, you should definitely customize your order a bit. It's a good option when you want a twist from the ordinary. Although Ice and Fire is Asian-inspired, the offerings are definitely Americanized to appeal to a broader audience. They even had a Mother's Day special. Our ice cream choices the To-Taro and the Chunky Monkey were both delicious and flavorful. Some have said that it is pricey but I think for the handcrafted nature of the product and topping selections, $7 seems pretty reasonable. Love it! Out of all the rolled ice cream places I have been to, this is the best one. The staff is so friendly and helpful. They have 4 of those cold plates for when they are busy, especially being in a mall.
