Here's a better photo of the wrapped ice cream as it looked when it arrived.
    Artisan D.

Watermelon Ice Cream delivered through Door Dash. The way the order was presented had nothing to do with Door Dash though. The wrapped ice cream didn't look anything like the photo at all, and while I know this is something that's common, especially given that I'm a photo retoucher and graphic designer, but I've eaten there, and the presentation is vastly different. The bag that has the toppings was already opened in the bag, and it spilled out the second the shopping bag was opened, leaving a mess on my counter. It's my humble opinion that these take out orders have no care put into them at all. The crepes? They look nothing like actual crepes, and the shell was not only soggy, but it tasted like a soggy tortilla with powdered sugar on top. It didn't smell good at all. After looking at how the banana slices, cherries, strawberries were served, it looked like they were just thrown in. The smell came from banana slices that actually went bad. Thankfully, the only thing that I tasted was the soggy crepe shell. My aunt is a professional chef, I know how crepes are supposed to look and taste, this isn't it at all. What made this experience even worse was, after calling them, they told me to call door dash to get a refund. All Door Dash does is deliver the food, they didn't put rotten bananas in a soggy tortilla shell. There was no sauce that made it that soggy. Door Dash didn't poorly wrap the ice cream, or open the topping bag so it would spill out. The delivery bag came fully closed with a staple. Once that was opened, there was a regular supermarket style bag with the food in it. As expected, Door Dash could only return the delivery cost, since as they stated, they didn't make any of the food. I called back Watermelon, and when I told them that, they literally hung up on me. I had to call back from my girlfriend's phone, because they blocked my number. I asked to speak to a manager, they offered a free meal. Essentially, if I ate the nasty looking crepe without looking at the inside, I'd have been sick from the rotten banana slices. He offered a refund as the last measure, which is what I actually wanted to begin with. Hopefully no one else will have this experience.

We were greeted with quick, friendly service. My daughter was thrilled with her waffle bowl (though to be fair, she's pretty easy to please when sugar is involved). I didn't want to look at the menu, so I stuck with a classic vanilla on a sugar cone simple and generously scooped. The prices are super reasonable, and they even have a little enclosed patio to enjoy your treat if you want to linger. Truth be told, I don't care for ice cream much, but seeing my kid so happy made the stop totally worth it. She gives it two thumbs up and that's all that really matters!

Although there was a line, it also moved quickly! From traditional scoops, to loaded banana splits, milkshakes and even nostalgic ice cream truck favorites I was impressed with the wide selection offered. The outdoor seating made for a vibrant and fun experience for an ice cream shop and we could tell there were many regulars in the crowd. We all enjoyed our cones and it's awesome to know this great spot is on the area.

When you were growing up, was there a place you dreamed your parents would take you for a treat?…read moreWhen you got a little bit older and had a few bucks in your pocket, was there a shop you and your friends would bike to and buy a little slice or scoop of heaven? What about that perfect first date location in high school? Or the place your crew would meet up after you got off shift or after a game to replay the memories? Was there a place where a holiday season couldn't "officially begin" without a stop there to grab some coffee, a box of cider donuts, a Christmas tree, or just a place to sit and catch your breath? Plaskos is all of those places for all of those feels and all of those moments. The fare is top notch, and the staff is warm, familiar and welcoming. It's Americana. It's home. It's the last place you went the night before you left for college, and ordered a large S'mores ice cream with toppings, and drank in the summer sights and sounds in their yard on a picnic table, and the first place you went back to over Christmas vacation. There are lots of ice cream stores. But Plaskos is that one place that makes you feel like you just walked into your grandparents kitchen and they have all of your favorites waiting for you, and they are just as happy to see you as you are to see them. People don't just go to Plaskos because it's an ice cream store or cafe, even thought their home made ice cream and creative flavors taste like nothing you've had before, and their coffee makes you close your eyes and wonder where this has been all of your life. People go to Plaskos because it's tradition. It's who New Englanders are. It's Bean boots in the rain, leaning on a rake and talking over a fence to the neighbor on a fall day, or shoveling a driveway to help someone in need because it's the right thing to do. Plaskos isn't just ice cream or coffee. It's us.

It's not unique anymore. One of the draws of going here was to walk in and see all the liquid nitrogen and making the ice cream. It's just not fun anymore. Also, they served my bubble cone in a plastic cup? That was weird. The inside is also in need of attention. The lighting was dim and it was pretty dirty in there if you stand and look around. It's like it hasn't been deep cleaned in 10 years. There's also no restroom! People seemed nice to us. I won't complain about them. It seems like a lot of kids working, to be expected. It's basically a fast food ice cream chain so what can be expected. The real issue is, they need a manager there running the ship. The crew was all over the place when I was there. They kept looking at the order receipts, running around chaotically. Asking each other questions etc. I think they need a boss or someone there that can help the crew out with direction. I think lack of management was the issue. I recommend spending your money elsewhere. Go find a mom and pop place nearby. This place is just not as "cool" as it once was.
