I was really looking forward to trying the Apple Cider Boat Sundae and asked before ordering if it was still available. The staff said yes and asked if I wanted two or three scoops, I chose two. When it came out, though, it was served more like a float rather than the sundae I expected. When I went back to ask, they explained that it's only served in the "boat" form with three scoops. I wish that had been mentioned when ordering, as I would have opted for that instead. The presentation made it a bit tricky to eat with the donut wedged in the middle of the cup, and the caramel-to-ice-cream ratio was a little off.

A must visit when you're in the area! Plasko's is the last operating farm in Trumbull and has become a great stop any time of the year. In the fall, they have a corn maze, Christmas trees for the holidays as well as other events. They also have a cafe that opens in the morning for coffee and baked goods. We stopped by in the summer for their homemade ice cream. There was a line, but it moved quickly and gave us time to read the large menu. Various sundaes as well as pints are available. We decided on cones with cherry vanilla and bananarama flavors. Both were super creamy and well balanced. Perfect on a hot, summer day!

Two years ago, a Food Blogger friend told me Plasko has the best cold foam for coffee. It was such a specific claim that it stuck with me, even though I live an hour away. I was looking for a new coffee spot near Route 15 for my trip to Met Life Stadium and Plasko stood out as the best option for my needs. Plasko is in a red barn looking structure. As you enter, you'll see light colored woods and a vaulted ceiling. I get the feeling that Plasko does a number of things, but this review is just based on a large Cold Brew with Vanilla Cold Foam, and a cheddar chive scone. As my friend said, Plasko's cold foam was one of the best I've had. Good flavor. Good thickness. It didn't disappear into the dark coffee abyss too quickly. The coffee itself was good: Smooth. Rich. A good coffee to match with sweet cold foam. My scone was decent. It wasn't too dry, but it wasn't one of the more flavorful savory scones I've had either. In general, the available baked goods looked pretty good. 4.25 Stars. I would return if I was in the area, but I wouldn't make a special trip to Plasko.

Stopped here on a whim and I'm so happy that we did! I've heard of Plasko Farms for years, and I can see why it's so popular. The cafe area was adorable, and there were so many delicious looking treats to choose from. I enjoyed hot chocolate and Bundt cake, and my husband took a walk to the ice cream shop side and got a scoop of black raspberry chocolate chunk. We really enjoyed the flavor, and it was so creamy! They had some really unique ice cream flavors, and we can't wait to come back in the summer to try more. Such a wholesome spot!

Woah! This place is super cool. I only tried the cafe but their option to get an ice cream scoop and make a latte with it is something I have never seen before. The latte was super good, I used the coffee oreo flavored ice cream. The inside is so nice, great reading spot with outlets, I love all the natural wood. Highly recommend coming here!

This is a really nice homemade ice cream/ cafe/ farm! They have tons of flavors ice cream to choose from. Some are very unique. Texture of the ice cream is creamy. Scoop size is relatively small. I got sundae with two scoops but looked like one scoop. Whipped cream is soooo good! Homemade whipped cream is the best! Fudge is good but only a tiny little bit on the side of my sundae. The salted caramel cookie is amazing. Overall, service was pleasant. Fast and efficient. The only complaint was the scoop size, way too small and not enough fudge. Lots of outside seatings, some tented picnic tables and benches. There's a cafe inside too!

    Outside seating area.

Great ice cream. A little expensive but a nice treat on a warm summer night. They also have a nice cafe for coffee but it has reduced hours from the ice cream store.

Took our first visit to Plasko's Creamery in Trumbull. It was the farm environment that I was looking for; they had classic flavors and more experimental ones like Peanut Butter Explosion. There was also italian ice, milkshakes, and ice cream cakes; whatever you're craving, they have it. We enjoyed the sweet treats and will be back to try even more flavors.

Is the ice cream made there or do they get it from somewhere else?

They make it there! Daily!! And, it's delicious!

Is the creamery open year round?

"Let's go down to the Sunset Grill We can watch the working…read moregirls go by" (Don Henley) The Trumbull Café & Grille is a nice breakfast and lunch joint three of us visited for lunch yesterday. Even though it has a White Plains Road address, you don't see it because it really isn't on White Plains Road. It's behind the main road, in a stand-alone plaza behind an office building. Or, as my nephew said, it's in a weird location. Their menu has a Mexican accent. I say that because their on-line menu features Breakfast Tacos, Huevos Rancheros, a Chili Omelet, an amazing sounding chorizo/serrano chilies/black bean concoction, three kinds of breakfast burritos, a Mollete, chilaquiles, a Cemita sandwich, two kinds of quesadillas, a chicken or beef burrito, and three kinds of street tacos. Oh, and let's not forget their two house-made salsas and three brands of hot sauce on your table. Now, I must mention that you should take their on-line menu with a grain or two of salt, because it has a November 2022 date on it and the listed prices are outdated, as my eagle-eyed nephew pointed out. Anyway, on to the food - which was great. We had Chicken N Waffles (served with Cabot butter and fried chicken strips, hot sweet chili and powdered sugar on top), Chocolate Chip pancakes, and Breakfast Tacos (Corn tortillas served with home fries, Monterey jack black beans, scrambled eggs, bacon topped with avocado salsa). The tacos were mine and they were stuffed with all of that aforementioned goodness. I could only handle two of them and just had the third for breakfast today. The chocolate chip pancakes looked great - drizzled with chocolate syrup and what seemed to be a chopped-up slab of solid chocolate perched on top. Likewise, the chicken and waffles looked great - a full-sized circular waffle served with two sizable chicken tenders. Service was very good, with a check-back and water refills, and the food came out fairly quickly. Our lump sum unitemized check was $50.45 so I can't compare the web prices to their actual prices, but rest assured the web pricing is lower (a reasonable assumption considering their web-posted menu was from November 2022). One more thing, when you pay by credit card, there is no place to add a tip. They encourage cash tipping. All in all, with the quirkiness aside, we had a very nice meal here.

Rumor has it the restaurant has changed ownership in the last year- and if that's true- can the old owners buy it back? There has been such a decline in food quality and service! Let's begin with all the ways the food was subpar. First- my mother did the fixed price menu. They forgot one of her courses entirely. The shrimp cocktail was not in the building. Not that it's a huge loss- you get four measley shrimp. Then, the lamb chops were supposed to come with arugula- and the "salad" was a weird container of lettuce and cannellini beans- beans were never mentioned anywhere on this menu. We honestly didn't even know whose meal that was supposed to pair with because nothing like it was on the entire menu. Food allergy risk anybody? The lamb chops were also bone dry- no trace of the reduction or glacier sauce that the menu specified. The worst offense of all were the salad dressings. They were completely inedible! The balsamic vinaigrette was just pure vinegar- like get out your Easter eggs to dye because that's really all you can do with straight vinegar. The raspberry vinaigrette had the consistency of a jam and lo and behold, tasted like a container of raspberry jam. Another was pure olive oil and the honey mustard was oily and way too honey- I think they forgot the mustard part. On top of the food being a total train wreck- the worst part was the service. From start to finish the staff was rude and made it seem like they were doing us a favor by serving us- that's your literal job! Both when we placed the order, picked up the food AND when my mom drove back to get her missing course they acted like we were such an inconvenience and annoyance. For the prices they charge- all of this was unacceptable. Pack orders correctly. Make edible food. Treat your customers with the slightest bit of hospitality. It's not hard to figure out. It's worth noting that when we returned for our missing course another customer was there demanding money back for spoiled food they were given on new years as well. Patrons of Shelton- raise your standards! We don't have a ton of higher end dining options and thus the ones we do have need to exceed expectations. Unfortunately, or maybe it's actually fortunately for us, we won't be back.

The fries and tots were great--5/5 but next time I'd pass on the tot cheese sauce at the bottom of the dish. We'll also request foil wrapping inside the to go box to retain the heat. The chicken wrap with pesto mayo was 4/5-tasty, especially with the pesto mayo on the side. More chicken would have made this a five star sandwich BLT fries are a crowd pleaser--I don't get it because the ingredients cool the fries down too much for me, but my family disagrees, so 4.5/5 Cheese steak--4/5 because it was tasty but the bun was so lightly toasted we couldn't discern it as toasted. Gluten-free bun on the smash burger was outstanding--thin and flavorful. This burger had honey mustard, raw onions, lettuce and tomatoes. Not crispy but super satisfying to the consumer. 5/5 Service is always good here. We'll be back for more. Yelp doesn't allow half stars, so I'll land on a 4 star rather than a 5.
