Very loud, very pricey and very slow. We had a group of 6 and we could not hear each other speak over dinner. The place was packed which I thought was good because it was a sign of a good spot. Food was very good to be fair and the portions were adequate. We just felt it was nothing great. They just took our order, dumped our food and that was it goodbye. NYS Steak came out asked for medium rare lucky it was medium... end of steak was cut and was cut after being cooked about 2-3 inches... told the bartender and he tells me they butcher them on premises I told him it didn't matter this was cut after being cooked and je wasn't gonna hear anything more so not to make a scene I proceeded to cut and take a bite and I couldn't even get my teeth through it cause it was so chewy... told the bartender they pretty much said they will take care of it didn't offer to cook me another dinner... they took $31 off a $62 steak I didn't eat and left for them to throw away .. Food was good. I got steak tips done medium well, half of them were medium rare and the other half were medium well. My boyfriend got the burger, which was huge and the bread fell apart so it was difficult to eat, but tasty. The pigs on a wire bacon was very chewy but delicious. The service was fine. This used to be a great place, the prices have went up and the food has went down. Went for a date night with my wife this past sat. Had not been in about a year. The cocktails were terrible, Bloody Mary was not drinkable extremely watered down. Oysters had zero flavor, got the NY strip which I ordered medium. Completely raw and chewy that I had to spit out. BTW I ordered the 8oz so if you see, that's almost the whole piece. Wife had the cod which was very dry. I thought about sending steak back but at risk of waiting another hour I decided against. Stopped in on a busy night. Looked as if there were multiple graduate student families celebrating. It had just rained too so everyone was inside and were in the process of drying the tables. The table we sat at still had wet chairs. One of the employees tried starting the fire for us too but unsuccessful. Food was delicious. I came here on a very busy Tuesday with my 91 year grandma and parents to celebrate my induction into the honor society for school. I cheers with White Zinf wine. We all started with salads although huge they were delicious! My grandma and I got steak both cooked perfectly to our specifications. The other dishes came out beautifully plated and tasted very good although the steak tacos were slightly dry but that doesn't deter us from returning though. Despite the place being waaaay overpriced (NYC would have a better food quality for less money) they up-charged us for 2 Gavin's Tenders even though we've ordered one. They first brought two of them because the waiter missed that it was supposed to be one tenders and one Mac and cheese, we corrected them and they took the second away by replacing it with Mac and cheese. Had lunch there today with two friends. Two of us ordered the prime cheese steak sandwiches. It was on a 12 inch sesame baguette for $20. It contained quarter inch thick pieces of steak which were tender, onions, peppers, and cheese. We both thought it was very dry and did not contain moist cheesy sauce that makes a Philly cheesesteak so delicious. We expressed our displeasure to our very nice server Luis and we ordered other items. My glass of Mondavi Cabernet was priced $13.50! Outrageous. I have no intention to return ever. I'm drinking 99 problems but a Paloma ain't one. Very tasty! For an app we ordered the Poseidon's tower. The large $111.00 one. The oysters and clams were so sandy. Tried 2, and big no-go. Kinda disappointed there. The help didn't care either when I mentioned it. Sucks to suck I guess. The main courses were large. I had the steak dip samich, tasty and cooked the way I wanted it. The lobster bowl looks pretty hefty and the person eating it isn't saying a lot, so, that's a win. The burgers also look huge and cooked the right way. Do not come here unless you are a middle aged white person (no disrespect). My friend was hosting her birthday dinner here and me and my sister had arrived 10 minutes early. We were told to walk over to the big in the middle of the dining room and the host didn't move from behind the stand. Immediately we were asked if we wanted a drink and we said we would wait. Once more people arrived we were asked about a drink again and two of originally 18 turned 9 party had ordered one of their 20 dollar alcoholic beverages that had no alcohol and the sleigh ride tasted like a peppermint mocha from Dunkin. After we order we were never checked on from the time we order at 7:38 till 8:31 ( yes I did keep tabs on the exact time so there cant be an accusation of exaggeration.) once my friend had gone to the host to ask on an eta of our food, it was no more than 5 minutes that they started to come out. Other than the 4 people that order simple chicken wings, all of the steak was cold, the mashed potatoes in the steak tips was cold, the Mac and cheese was luke warm and my friends nachos looked like they had been sitting not even under a heat lamp and the cheese had started to shell/crust. We were not checked on after that, not asked how our meal was, nothing. We can assume our food was just sitting there and with a slightly larger party you start to take food out as you go. The friend that ordered nachos at this point was frustrated. The only people that were asked for refills was the people who ordered an over ten dollar drink everyone else be damned. My friend sent her nachos back and did not want them remade because why would you want a repeat of something you already didn't want especially waiting an hour for some tortilla chips and cheese. We were all somewhat irritated at this point and when one of us asked for a a manager, the exact reply was "why" not "how can I help". They refused to send a manager saying she had left for the day and pretty much saying that they were running themselves. The server then started to just grab our plates and let us sit there without any checks until the whole table was cleared. At this point our white server only came up to us before handing us our checks when we would get slightly louder than a whisper. She handed us our checks and I told my sister that if our check was over a certain amount we were asking for a discount. She called our server over to discuss the check and when she was asked why she didn't say something sooner and she replied it was an expensive meal we already waited an hour for the reply was "but you ate it right". That when I stepped in because frankly your not about to talk to my family crazy like that because we really couldve thrown the table around for real and then we would've had a problem. I told her straight up "we all worked in a resturant setting and we still check our tables regardless of whats going on and we shouldn't have to ask for you to fix something you screwed up it is expected as curiosity. We were never checked on and just because you have a big party doesn't mean all be damned especially when you guys are more staffed than any resturant I've ever worked in". She then said "what do you want me to do" and we replied take something off. She than handed us our checks and we left. They thought one little slice of cake and giving all 9 of us a spoon to split this one cake slice was gonna make all the frustration go away. Respectfully my ethnicity and my age should not dictate the service I receive and trust i tip even when I have mediocre service at least 20% but respectfully talking down to me and my family and expecting a tip on top of 60 bucks for ur cold ass steak is not gonna earn you from me. Especially when all yall white staff was staring at us because we finally spoke up and didn't take the disgusting, racist disrespect that yall gave us from the minute we walked in just trying to get our money and not even work for it. Been meaning to try this place for a while and finally had time to stop in. Really busy and while we didn't have a reservation, we were fortunate that a table opened up right as we got there (would make a reservation next time, especially for a group more than 2). Got the cauliflower as an app and it was amazing. The seasoning in the breading was delicious, as was the Carolina BBQ and blue cheese we had on the side. Really well done app. I got the NY strip and brussels. The steak was really tasty and had a fantastic char. The brussels were soft and a bit over sauced for my liking, but the flavor was good. I saw several fun cocktails go to other tables around us, and next time I'd probably get one post dinner. The price for things is a little high in my opinion, but not so over the top that it would keep me away. A friend and I stopped in for raw oysters and a cocktail on a Saturday afternoon just before the dinner hour so we were fortunate enough to score a couple of seats at the bar. The bar tenders were very friendly and one took his time explaining the different oysters that were available. Three from the northeast and one from northern CA. Since we had four to choose from we went for a dozen with three of each. The were expertly opened with no shell fragments and served with 2 cocktail forks (this alone is a major star) lemons, condiments, and hot sauces. All were excellent and they went really well with my gin and tonic. My favorite oyster was the Welfleet which is a MA variety. Next are the Bluepoints which are local and the sweetest.
