Came here for a celebratory dinner and had a wonderful experience! Great food (I enjoyed the salmon), and great service. Their menu is large enough where anyone can find something they like. Highly recommend!

The best! Always love coming here; I have never ordered anything I didn't like. The service is relatively fast and the staff is very pleasant.

Came tonight (10/3) with my husband and another couple. Everything from the service, the drinks and the food was superb. Our waitress was so kind and excellent! We are staying at my mother in laws house in Shelton for a few weeks, so it was our first night out for dinner since our first child was born 3.5mo ago. We had a great night and meal. It's only my second time at Wellington's but I would (and will) definitely return again!

Hadn't been here in many years since first married so decided to revisit for our anniversary. Same great quality all around. Food and service was great. They even did a special dessert for our anniversary. They made it a very special night.

Food was delicious as always and service was fantastic. Completely cozy and we were able to enjoy our conversations without it being a loud atmosphere. Truly enjoyed our meal and dessert.

With all the June bdays between family & friends in the month of June it was only a matter of time before we got around to 1 particular groups fav - Wellingtons. I had never been; heard from many that meals were very good so I was certainly looking forward to it but our 1st challenge was finding the place. Huntington center is a small oasis with some of its commercial real estate sequestered on one side with a shared parking lot with 3 different entrances. Before I navigated into the lot we searched for the restaurant's street signage but didn't notice any. We eventually found the restaurant ( still no signage ) at the far end, off by itself with an outside patio area fronting the door to the restaurant itself. Our Saturday late afternoon table reservation for 445 pm was for an early dinner but we weren't the only group present as the smallish 1st dining room had diners seated & the bar side in an adjacent room was buzzing with laughter & chatter. 1st impressions: Wellingtons interior & redolence has seen better days. A lover can overlook a lot of things but for me our 1st date was starting out a little rocky. Our server was energetic & bouncy. We ordered Caesar Salads & Shrimp Cocktails & enjoyed these starters very much. While waiting for our entrees, the 2nd dining room filled up pretty quickly & wait staff grew proportionately to the volume of customers ( a good thing ) as did the noise level. When our Entrees arrived we were immediately impressed with the generous serving & attractive presentation. Our Sole Milanese & Linguine & Shrimp pasta were outstanding. When it was time to pay the tab our server brought us one tab when 2 would have been more appropriate. One individual at our table had ordered take out to go for a home bound family member. The server essentially tabulated the take out bill on one side of the check & the other side of the check consisted of some strangely coded itemization of our in-house consumed meals that was impossible to decipher. We didn't need separate checks because 1 couple picked up the tab for the rest of the table for the entire in-house meal - but Wellingtons lost points because of sloppy check presentation & insufficient detail. We also had to ask for our customer copy of the receipt. Wellingtons has been serving a local community fine food for many years. That it hasn't reinvested into a few upgrades is probably a business decision based on customer sustained loyalty over the years & the old adage: If it ain't broke, don't fix it.

My best friend and I went to Wellington's on a Friday night. We had early reservations so when we arrived there were not too many people in the restaurant. As we began eating, more people arrived and it did get pretty busy, so I would recommend making a reservation. The place is also quite small so even on an off-night I would recommend making a reservation. To start, we both ordered French Onion Soup. I am a sucker for a good french onion soup and Wellington's did not disappoint. It was full of flavor, just enough cheese and the onions hit the spot. I truly think I could eat Wellington's french onion soup every day. For entrees, we both ordered Penne all vodka, i got chicken in mine which was a whopping $8 up charge. I thought that was crazy for a few pieces of chicken, but it turned out to be worth it because the pasta was delicious. Overall, we really enjoyed Wellington's. The staff was very friendly and attentive and the food was great. We will likely be back!

Our dinner and service did not disappoint us. The salmon and tuna dinners were great. Wished we'd taken pics of them before we started but did get one of the dessert, pistachio with pastry and whip cream.

It was our first time at this place. Been living in Shelton for two years now and I've heard the hype in great reviews of this place and want to give it a try. Being from New Orleans, My food expectations are always high. The portions were great and the food was excellent. I had the clams Gorgonzola as an appetizer and the Gorgonzola pork chop for an entrée. It was very tasty and I ended up bringing half of my entrée home. Wife had the fried calamari i and the chicken gorgonzola and it was great as well. There's a lot of dessert options and with my next time I will try one the wait staff was great and a true Shelton gem.

Lovely addition to our celebration at Wellington"s

I had high hopes for this place, especially given all the great reviews, but sadly, we were very…read moredisappointed. Let's start with the positive... The place itself is beautiful, cozy, inviting, and really nicely laid out. Tables seem to be a little on top of one another, but they're nice size tables. Started the night off with a tiramisu martini, it was excellent... Great way of marrying decade and tiramisu dessert with an alcoholic twist of martini. Also split the zucchini blossom with my husband. This was decadent, honestly a great balance between taste, the crispy fried texture, and the ever so smooth tomato sauce that came with it. It wasn't just a sauce, it was a brilliant combination of texture, taste, and color... The taste buds were very excited and couldn't wait for what was to come. At this point, we were really excited, oh, I forgot to mention, the homemade bread, with hints of rosemary... You have my heart once you bring me, rosemary! It was excellent, nice, soft and chewy, yet crispy on the outside and the whipped goat cheese, like butter with an excellent accompaniment to the bread. At this point, the cadence was at a great pace. Andres came shortly after. My husband ordered the pork chop, and I ordered the chili and Seabass special which came with mussels and a tomato sauce with basil on top of the corn risotto. The pork chop did look appealing, but whatever strange reason, the pork chop with sliced into half inch pieces which immediately raised a red flag for both my husband and me. My husband is very particular in ordering his pork medium well too well done, as he does not like seeing any pink in his pork whatsoever given a harrowing experience from years ago. having said that, I don't know if it was their intention to slice the pork to ensure it was cooked to the correct wellness, but in doing so, it dried up the pork completely and made this dish absolutely an edible for my husband. To boot, the pork really had no flavor, but it looked beautiful, even a mist being sliced in little pieces. I tried it, and I too, felt the taste to be very flat. The vegetables that came with it were very good, nicely, roasted, and perfectly done, but the meal is not about the vegetables. It's about the pork chop, let's be serious, especially at $47.95! My Seabass was also very flat, it tasted more like poached fish than it did like a seared fish. Really did not have much flavor in terms of spices, the muscles are good, and the risotto was very good, but that fish itself lacked any luster whatsoever again, at the price tag of $47.95. The waiter came and asked us how our meals were and my husband explained to him his disappointment with his dish saying how dried out it was, and the waiter waiters response was I'm sorry, I'll give you a dessert on the house... Really? An eight dollar dessert equates to a $48 meal and that should satisfy my husband. About 3/4 of the pork chop was not consumed and nothing else was done. He asked me how I felt about my fish and I told him it was flat and really didn't have much flavor. He looked at me and said ok and walked away. The owner who had given us such a nice greeting when we walked in, recognized my husband, and when he came by during our meal, never once did he ask us how we were. Honestly, a real disappointment, we started off so nice and strong with this place, and the biggest showcase was such a letdown and the way it was handled was even more disappointing. It was our first time and our last time here.

The array of dishes was a bit overwhelming. I definitely encourage viewing photos of the food prior to ordering, it helped so much. We started with garlic bread and fried calamari. For the main course, I went with the Lasagna made with ground beef and veal. It was absolutely delicious (I even took some home!) My husband went for the fillet mignon and he said the meat was cooked perfectly. The food was 5 stars! Things to note - It was a bit hard to have a conversation because it was loud. Also, we did have a hard time finding the restaurant since it's in a plaza with other businesses. We had to call the restaurant to get accurate directions. I loved the romance this place has. First…read moretime I was here was a very unfortunate time for our family as it was my Aunt's Celebration of Life Lunch after her funeral back in 2017. My uncle rented out the entire private event space. I remember the venue being absolutely stunning. Large glass windows and the bar was gorgeous. I didn't realize this was only the private event section of the restaurant. Fast forward to our visit back in October 2025, when we arrived and wanted to sit at this gorgeous bar that I had remembered, it turns out that area is for private events only. There was actually a wedding going on. So, we sat at the main bar and had a drink which is upstairs. Downstairs is where the private events are. Although the main bar was nice, I just had in my head the gorgeous modern vibe of the event space. The main bar is more old school Italian, warm colors whereas downstairs is more bright and modern. Moving on to the food, we split the Giulio Cesare (Ceasar salad). It was fine. Nothing special. Lots of cheese on top. For entrees, I had the Ippoglosso alla Boscaiola con Pure di Patate e Asparagi (Halibut). It was incredible. No complaints. Boyfriend had the Salmone alla Senape e Dragoncello con Spinaci e Pomodorini (Salmon). He enjoyed his dish as well. What I did not love was the dessert. I don't even remember what it was, but it should have been thawed out a bit. It was rock hard when it got to our table. Some sort of a pistachio dessert. I feel like it may have been a torte. We did not enjoy it. I think it was a special they had. Would highly recommend the event space here (beautiful ambiance), however I don't remember much about the food at the event. The building itself is quite impressive as you walk up to it. Nice grounds.
