It was nice so we sat on the patio. The brunch menu is small but packs a nice variety. I ordered the tater tot bowl minus bacon add chicken tinga. It was delicious. The tots were crispy, soft scramble egg, avocado, and cheesy goodness. My companion ordered the belly burger. She said it was delicious ious too. For apps we ordered the hummus. It was good. On a previous visit, I ordered the spicy peanut noodle bowl with shrimp and the dynamite shrimp app. Yum!! Both were loaded with flavor. Forgot to take a pic. From 10-11:30 on weeekends, mimosas are $1.99. What a deal!! And of course I had to try all the flavors! Cran-orange is my fav. They have a great happy hour, daily specials, kids menu, vegetarian menu and some gf options. I will definitely be back to try the pancakes and Nashville chicken Sammy. Shout out to Mike the manager and Rey my server my making my dining experiece so very lovely. This casual spot is ideal for families with small children, couples, groups and celebrations.

I love the vibe of this place and I have not even eaten the food yet. We post an update after the meal but my first impression is this is a great spot for breakfast or lunch. I order a breakfast sandwich and a pastry. Just wanted to share my first impression. Excited to taste my meal. Follow Up After Meal - The food was good and not overly salty which is a plus for me. I enjoyed the pastry as an afternoon snack and it was great, I wish I had ordered two. The only issue as I reflect on this food experience is that I realized this place would be pricey for some people. The breakfast sandwich (croissant) and hash browns were $14.75 before tax for a whole sandwich and the pastry was $4.00. So $20 for a breakfast meal may be pricey for some families. I still believe this is a great place to visit in a small town setting. I really enjoyed my visit and food and will return next time I am in the area.

Whistle Stop Coffee Shop is a fantastic coffee shop on Main Street in Lee's Summit…read more I met a friend there this morning for coffee, but I was able to order a French Vanilla pour over. The beans were ground fresh for me. I love French Vanilla coffee, but it's not my wife's favorite. So it was nice to be able to get a cup and enjoy it. I also ordered biscuits and gravy and a glass of milk, which were very tasty. I brought my wife home a cinnamon roll which she enjoyed. She said it was good. The front of the house is pretty bustling and lively. At the back of the restaurant, there's a quieter room and outdoor dining on the patio. I will definitely be returning to this location. Special shout out to the staff, who were magnificent.

It's a pretty downtown location. The decor is cozy and nicely decked out for Christmas. - chairs. They spent a little extra on padded leather to save our butts. - service. They're quick and polite. - cleanliness. Now for the less good: - layout. Everything feels tight. It's prettier than it is practical. - drink quality. My daughter found her spiced chai (pictured) overly sweet. And if you look at the pic, you'll notice that they gave her basically 2/3 of a cup. That pic was taken before she took a single sip (yes, I know the straw I used to show the amount looks used; I did use it to search for a tea bag in my tea fog. See below!). My cinnamon/butterscotch tea fog was, to put it politely, unimpressive. I left it steeping at least 15 minutes because it was way too hot to drink. And then I had to get a straw to search for tea bags, because it tasted like hot foamy water and I was convinced they'd forgotten to put the tea bags in. Well, they hadn't. There was one tea bag. My standard of comparison is Gusto over by Longview, which makes the best tea fogs in town. They use two tea bags and it tastes like heaven. Whatever they served me at Whistle Stop tasted like perfumed water. So overall, I give it a 3/5. Points for location and decor and nice chairs. But the main attraction should be the drinks, and they were both kinda terrible. And there's just no excuse for serving someone 2/3 of a cup when we're paying $6 for a small drink.
