I told Jovani I had to be back down to the Springs by a certain time, and he never came back with an ETA on the contract after he said he would (I came pre-approved, just needed to test drive and sign). Instead, we found him showing off a car to another person that had just got there (We were there for 3 hours at this point, given it's a 1 hour dealer) I got upset at how long we were waiting given I did majority of the paperwork beforehand, and he told us we were his only customers at one point too so it didn't make sense. He saw us as we were walking out and didn't say anything, so it just didn't feel like there was any urgency on his end to close the deal and get us out of there soon. We ended up getting a call later from a different sales person, not even him. 3 hours later, and we left empty handed. Such a waste of time. read more

I purchased a used Mazda CX-5 from Schomp Mazda and am writing to warn others: avoid this dealership at all costs. While the client advisor we worked with was overall pleasant, we had a horrible experience with the financial department, sales, and management in general. We chose the car that we wanted to purchase before 3pm, and did not leave the facility until 9:30pm. For starters, when test driving the car there was a notification for low battery in the key fab. I asked our advisor if they could replace the battery before we leave with the car, and after checking with the finance department she said no because it is considered "cosmetic." What horrible service. We handed over the title to my old vehicle and gave my information for the credit check around 4pm and waited over 3.5 hours before they had any paperwork for us to review. The advisor implied we'd receive free oil changes and tire rotations, only for a $700 fee to appear on the final bill--essentially just pre-paying for the services, which is fine, but should have been communicated as such. We then waived the extended warranty, which would have doubled our monthly payment, because we do not need hail or windshield coverage. We put a big down payment on the car with the intention of paying the remaining funds off quickly, so doubling our payment did not make sense for us. After signing everything on the computer with our advisor and waiting another 30+ minutes, a man from the sales department came out trying to convince us to get the extended warranty. I understand this is his job, but he came across as extremely ingenuine and condescending. He knew I personally was not from Colorado as my old vehicle still had Illinois plates, and he asked how long we've been in Colorado. When I said my husband was a Colorado native, he insisted that my husband has probably replaced countless windshields. Again, I understand this is his job, but we reiterated that we do not want the extended warranty. This wasted another good chunk of time, which was highly unnecessary given how long we had already been waiting. We finally signed all of the documents with our advisor, which included the final pricing. She said the next step was to have the finance department review everything and give us the remaining documents to sign. We did not receive papers to sign from the finance department until 8:45pm, and when we did, they overcharged us by almost 3K. We told our advisor that the number was incorrect based on the documents we had just reviewed on her computer. They denied any mistake. We explained that the overall amount was way more than it should be, and then the advisor was gone for close to 20 minutes. I finally got up and asked a manager who looked like he was ready to leave what was going on. A few minutes later, the same guy from the sales department who tried to sell us the extended warranty came out and said "the tax information was entered wrong." Zero accountability and no apology. We live in Denver proper and have one of the highest tax rates as is. We had an unsettling gut feeling in that moment that they were purposefully overcharging us, specifically after declining the extended warranty. An unexplained $750 charge also appeared on the final bill to account for "financing", despite Schomp claiming no dealership fees. They did not review anything about the car itself or how we pay the remaining money we owe. On Wednesday, 4 days after purchasing the vehicle, someone from the finance department sent an email requesting our signature for "missing documents." I am not kidding when I say it is 35 pages. The worst part is that we were overcharged, AGAIN. We have been very calm and understanding up until this point, but I finally told our advisor that we need copies of all the documents we signed on Saturday before signing anything else. We're still waiting for document copies and a clear resolution. This experience has been exhausting and has completely taken the joy out of buying a car. Bought a CX-30 Mazda in spring of 2022. 30000+ miles later only bringing the car in 6 times for 6 oil changes. Only thing we have replaced is 4 tires, bought 2 K&N air filters day one, and last week my kids or someone left lights on in the car and auto zone told us to replace the battery. I think the battery was still good, but we replaced the battery. I self rotated tires every 10,000 miles and have blown out and cleaned air filters. - service staff have always been very kind, luckily we have had no major problems. Been taking my taking my CX-9 2014 here since 2018 and a very similar story with that car. - sometimes services are recommend that I decline, but I have never felt obligated to fix anything immediately outside of one time brakes needed replaced (they were about at end of life.) and the service person - might have been Joshua or a woman talked to me about mountain driving and safety of not just me, but everyone around me. Got the brakes done about 1-2 months later on CX-9. -sales staff don't get commission like other dealers which is why you will save a couple hundred buying here. The sales staff just want to help you but don't always have enough staff sometimes. Call ahead and schedule an appointment, because almost always when I show up for an oil change they are too busy to help atm. But they will try to set up a time to meet within the next day or two. They are doing something right and that's why they are busy. The last 6 months with higher interest rates on new cars I have noticed the sales team have more time to help. Downsides - warning light comes on 500 miles before an oil change is due. This caused me to come in to Mazda one time because I didn't know why the car was saying service. This can be auto adjusted and I fix it myself. - just found out my remote start might end after 3 years. I can pay monthly to keep the app, but don't have a price yet maybe 5-10 per month. Still have 1 year to go. Ford and other makers are doing this where after a few years, you have to pay for the ability to start your car or use certain perks of your car. I don't like this. I probably saw the 3 year term when I bought the car, but don't recall. Mazda fix this for future cars. - gas tank is too small - just over 10 gallons or 300+ miles. The turbo version of the cx-30 has like a 13 gallon tank. You should have just put a 13+ gallon tank in both cars and with 420+ miles I would definitely not complain. - average mpg for city has been about 20-26 - average mpg for highway when I am driving below 85mphs is about 25-35mpg - highest mpg going to and from DIA for work was 43mpg - had no stop and go traffic doing about 55 for 2 weeks. I have to give a shout-out to Schomp Mazda because I've always had a great experience here. Today I went in for a routine oil change and tire rotation, plus a 50k mile maintenance. I worked with Joseph Greco and he went above and beyond to make sure my questions were answered and I was taken care of. He is probably the best person I've worked with here thus far. What I love about Schomp Service: they take videos of everything and explain what they do and what they recommend in detail. You can then accept or decline services from the email they send. If you need to schedule a service that's going to take hours or days, you can schedule a loaner vehicle (just not on the same day). I have never felt like I've been taken advantage of here like other maintenance shops. I've also never been made to feel wrong for declining services. If something is critical to fix, they will tell me the importance of it. I feel respected and valued which is much appreciated, and they are Mazda experts so I know my car is being taken care of as best as possible. read more

This was the least pleasant experience i've had car shopping after visiting a dozen or so dealerships narrowing down my car search. It took almost 30 minutes filling out digital forms and malarky just to test drive the car. "One hour" is in their slogan..well expect that just finally take it around the block. The sales rep asked me if I wanted water, only to never bring it. The test drive went fine enough . Was offered to come back inside for a printed price quote at the desk before heading out...Sure why not?... "Can I bother you for a water if we're going back inside, I ask"? $8400.00 difference in what they gave me for my trade vs what there sale price is. My trade had an error code and some damage and high mileage - error code could have been serious. I was lead to believe the car would be auctioned because it was pretty much worth nothing (which is about what I received based on all the things they told me was wrong with the car). Well, based on the short time between taking the trade in and having it available for sale, I suspect they just detailed the car and reset the error code and listed it. I understand they are in business to make $$ - but this is over the top - plus this vehicle may have big problems based on the error code - so BUYER BEWARE!! I hope all dealerships are not like this - but suspect they are - pretty sad in my opinion. read more

I was interested in a 2020 alfa Romeo Giulia. A salesman texted me said the car was in great shape. Sent a short video the car fax stated in had a minor accident front passenger side. Drove about 45 minutes to see it an the salesman was half right the interior was in great shape. The exterior not so much two rims had Bad curb rash. The paint on both front panels was rough to the touch an the big kicker the hood wasn't the same colour of as the rest of the car an was miss aligned by a quarter of a inch. read more

I contacted this dealership on June 2nd expressing interest in a car. After several messages with a salesperson (let's call him R) I was advised I could not use the financing already set up with my CU because the main branch was out of state. Because I was really interested in the car I agreed to fill out the financing on line. I learned my credit was run 7 times that day. So I figured the process was started. After advising R that because if my work schedule I wouldn't be able to get there until Tues afternoon. I felt he didn't care and responded with ..I hope it will still be here. I didn't hear from him the entire weekend. I showed up around 530p on Tues June 6th. Took the car out for a test drive. As I was leaving I advised him to start the process. I returned with the car around 610p only to find out nothing was started. Another employee then came to me and indicated things were to be started. (Let's call him T). The entire process took over hours and I left with paperwork not complete. Promised to have it brought to me in the next 24-48 hours. It was 17 days......and I had to go to them to get it all complete with a "bill of sale". During this time someone else (call him E) contacted me via email saying all was done. He then left me a message on the 23rd right before I left my house stating a part of what we agreed on was intact not complete and that he was going to contact MY insurance to get it done.....UNACCEPTABLE. I contacted E before I left my house to battle traffic and use gas I shouldn't have to and he was rude and argumentative. He never showed his face or apologized to me directly. WOW!! After a horrible experience. The manager agree to take the car back. He texted to say that the reimbursement check was ready, however when I took it to the bank on the check I was unable to cash it something about fraud. I was told by manager S to wait until the next day, but the bank said the check was not valid. Manager S, said when I called him again he would text the fiance department. I don't understand why I was given a check with the same day on it, that I couldn't cash. This is my first ever trying purchasing/leasing a car and my experience was terrible. The sales representative Robin was nice at first and then she switched after I put a deposit down on my car. She raised my monthly payment and then told me I was confused when I called her out on it. Robin does not care about you and only cares about the pay out she's going to get at the end of the transaction. During our test drive she could not tell us the horsepower on the car and when we asked her if the car was full time AWD or part time AWD she started talking about rotating the tires. Schomp has lost my business and I will be taking it to a different dealer who knows how to treat their customers. And if you do decide to go to Schomp after reading this talk to any sales person but Robin. Everyone else knew what they were talking about and were very knowledge about the cars. read more

I called them to inquire about the CX-9 Grand Touring model. The person I spoke to said there is no Grand Touring model for CX-9. Mazda calls it Premium Plus now. I mention that on their website, they have a Grand Touring model listed. After a few minutes, he said they have a grand touring model. I asked him about the cost. He quoted a price much higher than MSRP. When I enquired about the high price, he said there is a $1500 market surcharge. I had called other dealerships also, and no one else was charging over MSRP. When I asked, I was told they are a "for" profit company and gave me a small lecture on how profit works. Then continues to say to me that another reason for the high price is they only want to attract "serious buyers." I understand the cars are in high demand, but I felt this was arrogance. read more

Purchased a certified vehicle [cash] in March. They brought the car up front when paperwork was done. Wheels were filthy. I asked that they present a clean vehicle and they then washed it. Specifically instructed they send registration and title work to out of State DMV, or if not possible to our home. After assuring us (more than once) that would be done, and after checking with DMV and Schomp for almost 2 months-they did neither. In fact, we just found out they mailed it to an address we specifically asked them not to. A few days after purchase we drove vehicle to AZ and discovered motor oil on the ground. Brought vehicle to a Mazda dealer there to check it out. Reported oil pan bolt was loose. Lost over a quart of oil and cost over $90 to service (including replacement bolt. PLEASE do NOT purchase a car from Schomp Mazda. Our experience has left us with nothing but regret. We purchased a new car from Schomp Mazda on March 25th and as of this writing the car has spent more time in their service department than in our garage. Yep we bought a new car 2 months ago and have driven it less than 1000 miles. Our new car has been worked, reworked, reworked again, had parts replaced, and has been damaged by the service department multiple times. It doesn't feel at all like a new car anymore, it feels like a refurb. To quote the immortal BB King "The Thrill is Gone." Interested in details? Read on...... After the purchase we brought the car back for masking, window tinting and floor mats and so the drama began. 1. Picked up car, noted that the mask was poorly applied, paint was scratched down to metal inside the passenger door, drivers side door panel was also gouged. Schomp apologized and took the car back to re-do the mask, fix the paint and replace the door panel. Schomp also indicated they would outsource the masking since their in-house team couldn't manage to do it correctly. 2. Picked the car up the second time. Paint scratch was repaired with a touch up pen, door panel wasn't replaced as per the prior commitment, they simply tried to Armour All the gouge. Noted dirty fingerprints on the headliner. Schomp apologized and took the car back to clean the headliner and recommitted to replacing the door panel. 3. Picked up the car for the third time, The door panel had been replaced. Mask had been redone. We waited 7 days for the mask to cure but noted that the side mirror mask was now separating. Brought the car back to Schomp. Schomp apologized profusely and took the car back to redo the side mirror masks. 4. Picked up the car for the fourth time. Side view mirror mask had been redone however we now noted a scratch on the hood immediately proximal to the mask AND deep gouges in the paint all around the drivers side door panel. Clearly whoever replaced the door panel didn't use the correct tool. We missed this the first time as we were just happy to have the door panel fixed. How someone can create one paint gouge and then continue to create more is just incomprehensible. Schomp apologized profusely (again), sales manager agreed this was unacceptable, took the car back and guaranteed that the next time we heard from them the car would be "100 percent new, as good as the day we bought it". 5. Finally tracked someone down at Schomp today (05/17). We were told. "Your car is in line for service at the body shop, we're gonna need to keep it for another week to 10 days. To Schomps credit they are very good at falling on the sword. Schomp is NOT good at follow up. We have borne the burden of constant calls to ascertain status. Schomp is NOT good at calling you back. The interaction goes something like this. Leave message, "Whats the status of my car?"....No response..... Another call, actually reach someone, "Whats the status of my car?" Hey ill find out and call you right back....No call back Schomps service department is NOT good at taking care of your car. Not only have they not been able to perform requested services correctly on multiple occasions but they have damaged our car in the process. It should be noted that in this entire process we have not seen hide nor hair of the service manager. If my department ran this poorly I might be inclined to re-examine my career choice. I don't recommend buying from here. The salesperson that I was working with was Joe Aya. At first he made it a simple and easy process guaranteeing me no BS. Not only did he tell me that my car was worth more then the manager wanted to give us. He also told me I had coverage for my key fob and would be able to get another one for free if they couldn't find my second one. Going on a week Joe contacts me again saying I didn't sign all the paper work even though I signed it the night I left with the car. This resulted in paying for my old car payment for another month. I had to pull teeth to have that fixed. Then the key that they gave me with the vehicle is dying and I have to order a new one. Which is when I found out that Joe never added that to my purchase. They then told me that I couldn't get the coverage and would have to pay for a new key and programming out of pocket. This was easily fixed with a call to my lawyer and a planed meeting with them in person. Which resulted in them actually calling me and getting me a new key. Not only was I incorrectly informed and everything else went wrong but I had to play phone tag with a salesperson who didn't want to answer their phone. This place has terrible customer service and just overall doesn't have the courage to respond to message from a customer about mistakes they made. read more

We agreed to purchase two new cars from Shortline. The prices were good. We were fairly happy with the process until the sales were made. All of the information they requested "to make the sale go smoothly and quickly" was provided to them the week before. But on the scheduled day, it took over 6 hours. After a lot of pressure, we agreed to purchase the additional insurance coverage on one of the vehicles. Later that same day we informed Shortline that we decided to cancel the coverage. We were told no problem and the cost of the coverage ($3,600) would be credited to the loan. It has been 6 weeks and they still have not done it. And now they need us to resubmit paperwork we submitted to them 6 week ago. They won't even tell me how that happened. They also happily agreed to take our VW diesel car to a dealership a few minutes away for the scheduled buyback about 10 days later (we are from out of town and this saved us a lot of driving). They didn't do it. Evidently forgot or it was inconvenient. No one even called to let me know. The same people that before the sale would quickly respond to calls, messages, texts and emails, immediately began ignoring all of them! The disregard of customer service, and even common courtesy, is almost unbelievable. Any savings in price was not worth this. Shortline Mazda does not deserve your business. read more

I went to McDonald Mazda on Broadway to get a 2nd look at my car. The people @ Shomp Masada on Havana literally LIED COMPLETLY TO ME! I even have video of the new shop taking video of the brake tests to verify I was at a 5mm and 7mm on my pads and the Window Wiper Control Modual being the old recalled part # still in my car even tho they said they fixed it "as a courtesy" It's pretty crappy bcuz I live 5 minutes away from here but they went beyond bad business practices, they could of gotten me hurt! MCDONALD MAZDA is absolutely wonderful people and they are sure to make u trust that they are making your vehicle safe. SHOMP MAZDA wants to steal from you. Totally misled by the salesman / sales manager at Schomp Mazda at 505 S. Havana St Aurora, CO We traded in a car with a kelly blue book amount of $10,000 (salesman agreed with the $10,000) but he said since the carfax showed the car had been stolen (this is true) he said they would not be able to sale the car on their lot and would have to take it to the auction, yet today I find in online listed for sale on their lot / website for $10,300 more than they gave us for trade-in. Just because it was stolen is no different than the car being in an accident and being repaired. The car's ignition was repaired at a reputable collision center once the car was recovered 6 hours later. SHAME ON YOU SCHOMP, CROOKED LYING A-HOLES TAKING ADVATAGE OF OUR BAD LUCK AND MAKING A BAD SITIUATION EVEN WORSE. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH SCHOMP IF YOU CAN AVOID THEM, DO SO. My buying experience exceeded all expectations! I purchased a certified pre-owned CX-5 (incidentally, it used to belong to Eric, the new sales guy!). Bego Karalic took me on for a test drive for the CX-5 that caught my eye on cars.com but then looked in the inventory for others when it did not dazzle me. He found a 2016 CX-5 with fewer than 17k miles and I was in love!!
