Gotta love Mile High Honda! Thank you sales and service! And especially, thank you Mr. Calvin Scott and Mr. Ruben H. - you got us into an awesome car. I love our 2015 CR-V!!!
I have a 2007 Honda Element which was my first ever new car - still drives like new because I got it serviced by the dealer since the day I drove it off the lot. Never had a problem with it until my last trip through the CO, NM, and CA mountains. I came back with a rear-end alignment issue but honestly only ever put tires on it and I think changed the breaks a few times. Realistically speaking, I'm thinking after 210,000 miles of great road trips and daily through the mountains, it's probably time for new car - even though it still drives like new and Honda owners tell me that I have at least another 100,000 good miles to go. My Element now has some cosmetic issues, too. I figured since this economy about killed me, I can neither afford to work on an old car nor be left stranded but not sure I can afford a new one, either. (And, used cars are out of the question for this single-mom because I have no time or money to tinker with cars, and too frightened to ever break down alone, too). And, I'm not too interested in trading in a reliable car but don't have much down either. Now that's a predicament.
Big sigh, where does that leave me on a Wednesday night? When I went in for a routine oil change after work, I ended up in the show room. Thought, maybe I'll just see what's up with Honda in 2015, after all it was 8 years since I looked at cars (being a woman at a car dealership, well, that can be very painful to say the least about that) And, I was thinking, I can never get one as good as my last one anyway, and not ever at the same price I paid in 2007, and I don't trust car dealers anyway, so whatever. Mr. Scott, a very respectable and dignified looking gentleman, (loved that purple shirt) saw that I really liked the beautiful gray CR-V and could see why I really needed a car but I seriously had doubts about getting it financed. Who ever understands those price stickers anyway. We kind of stood around chit-chatting but I think he noticed I was avoiding the topic of buying. I sat in the CR-V, it has an awesome dash, awesome computer screen, awesome technology, AWD, the works. He asked if I could drive it out of the show-room tonight, would I do it? Seems a simple question, but I was thinking, why even approach me like that when it's not was actually doable and it was getting late anyway. When, I got my old Element out of service and the service desk gentleman, who always takes care of me said, if you really want to get it, Mr. Scott would definitely be the one who could make it happen. It was true too! Mr. Scott got it going on and even though it was late, he and his crew did it, got me financed and all - truthfully at the same price as when I bought my 2007 Element, when I think about it. They all waited with me for everything to go through and Mr. Scott handed me the keys, hooked up my bluetooth, showed me how to use everything and that was already about 10pm! Amazing. I said wow, I doubt I'll be getting oil changes like that too often :)
