Paid $900 dollars for a water pump on my 2011 forester, then after they completed the job, "Rocky" said to me that they were not going to honor there parts or laber because the car has to many mies on it, and of course it left there with a bad pully that was schreeching and he said that it would go away in a few miles not to worry. Roos Only scheduled me for a check engine light inspection a week and a half before Groove Subaru service dept. The diagnostic and repair took less than 3 hours total which of course depends on what is wrong with the car but they moved quickly, kept me informed, and there were no delays. While waiting in the lobby, the owner generously bought me coffee and breakfast sandwich. I also noticed him provide a small thank you/holiday gift to a courier. Such kind and thoughtful gestures. Additional work was recommended but there was no pressure or guilt trip laid on me in an attempt to agree to the extra work. The owner has specialized in Subarus for many years and puts a lot of care into his mechanics to make sure his customers get the best service. Great shop! When I took my car to the dealership to get some recalls done they said I needed my brake fluid changed, but gave me a ridiculous price. I came to Roos Only because they gave me a good quote. However, after I got there they checked and told me my brake fluid was actually fine. Then on the inspection they caught a much bigger issue with my front strut. The owner, Rocky, even took me back and brought me under my car to see the issue. They gave me a loaner car free of charge and fixed the problem that same day. I will be going here from now on. read more

I have been going to this place for years. this last time brought some concern about going back. I had gone in for repairs to my rear wheel bearings. paid what i believe to be a reasonable price... this is not my concern. what has me Very concerned is that the following day i went to Jiffy Lube to have my oil changed.... and when topping off my Fluids they noticed that my radiator was COMPLETELY DRY and VOID of ANY COOLANT. whats worse is that there is NO leak. their assumption. not knowing what work i had done recently is that someone emptied my radiator in attempt to have a catastrophic engine failure. they had no reason to lie to me as they refilled it for me for free... that and it had to have happened VERY recently as the car had not overheated yet. so i feel that either Roo's did this when they had my car just hte previous day..... or they failed to do their point inspection as they state they do on every repair... (checking fluids and tire pressure and what not). either way i have lost all faith in this company and will now being going to someone i can trust. or a dealership.... Im just lucky my car wasn't totaled. read more

This shop is acting out my favorite business maxim: under-promise & over-deliver. Roos Only just did a major overhaul on my 2006 Impreza: replacement of head gaskets, timing belt, radiator and both front cvj axles! Youch. This is an expensive job in any establishment, but based on comparing estimates their rates were very competitive with other shops (if not a tad less expensive). The customer service was professional and on-point. I was given the option of a loaner vehicle which was super helpful. They also completed the work faster than anticipated. It's been a month now and my car is consistently running like a charm. I would recommend their work to anyone, so check 'em out. read more

Went there for an oil and lube that I had booked in. Waited 1 and 1/2 hours,but they always do such a good job. After replacing my cabin filter, my AC improved 100 %. They never try and add things on that you don't need,though of course they give recommendations for needed services. read more

DO NOT USE Brought it in for an oil change and new break pads. First they did not accept my coupon because they said the coupon I got in the mail 2 weeks before was no longer valid, ok whatever. They convinced me to get a full tune up which it likely needed. Nearly $1400 later they shamed me for having low oil and a dirty air filter (why I brought it in). Ugh but ok. After 2 WEEKS the car ran out of oil. The first time in 5 years that it didn't make it 6 months between oil changes. They had added the wrong oil. After looking at the sticker the recommended next oil change was 2 months from when I took it in. It feels like their plan was to have me get an oil change every two months for the life of the car. This is going to be a bad one. I own a 2001 Subaru Impreza, which I love because it blows by 4x4s and the lot on I-70 on the way back home in deep snow. The setup: I went in and they said I needed Head Gaskets to be replaced. Fine. They did need to be replaced. I ended up having the work done somewhere else. I brought it back to ROOS ONLY for a small job of some kind and they said my need for Head Gasket work had escalated. I don't believe they even looked at the car. I think they just said it because I had brought it in before and it was on the list of to dos. Sorry, but just a bad ruse by Roos Only. read more

If I could give Roos Only zero stars, I would. Worst. Service.Ever. Took my 2007 Impreza here for 30k maintenance upon recommendation from a friend and fellow Subaru owner. First, they told me that my head gaskets were leaking. No big deal, just a $1k minimum repair. Next, they gave me a defective battery that left me stranded at DIA. My husband called them, explaining what was wrong with my car and they told him they could see me in 2 days. Luckily, he insisted they see me that day and they did, but I waited 4 hours for them to run "diagnostics" only to come to the same conclusion we had. The battery would not hold a charge. Next, they proceeded to tell me that the reason the battery would not charge was not their fault. It was an electrical issue and they "don't do electric". They referred me to an electric specialist in Lakewood that charges $95 just to see what was wrong and who "may have my car for 1 day or maybe 2". Called the dealer and made an appointment to take the car in. No electrical problems and 2 hours later (they did a full inspection and some factory recall work) they tell me it was obvious the second they looked under the car that it was the battery (corrosion) and that the head gaskets were just fine. Interestingly enough, both other negative reviews written here mention they were told they needed the same repair. Coincidence? I think not. This place is a rip off and a half. Save yourself the heartache and go somewhere more reputable. read more

So, I called them today to get a quote for a head gasket replacement on my 1996 Outback (2.2L) along with some additional items (since the engine would be out). The girl on the phone didn't think a 2.2L would need a head gasket (I have the symptoms, but she didn't ask for them), so she quoted me for the 2.5L (she thought I had a different engine). I verified the engine by VIN and called back to ask for the quote for my 2.2L, and she said "I'm going to send you to the dealer then". Basically, she couldn't quote for a 2.2L head gasket replacement because she hasn't ever seen one "in her 5 years working there" (I guess if she doesn't see it, it never happens). I literally confirmed that they wouldn't even work on my car because they didn't know how to work on my 2.2L for a head gasket replacement. I'm left to assume it wasn't in their scope of knowledge. I guess they're Subaru specialists, but only specializing in certain engines/problems they know how to fix. Thanks for informing me of that inexperience beforehand, but come on ... a specialist-specialist? If I had a manual and the right tools, I could do the damn work myself. LAME! read more

I took my 1996 Outback Impreza to Roos Only from 2006 to 2011, and Baki and the folks at Roos Only kept it running from 136K to 220K. In all that time, I never went anywhere else for repairs except for one emergency -- in that instance, a reputed Denver garage fixed my problem and told me I needed another $3600 in repairs (which Roos Only later told me was incorrect). Every oil change, we discussed what the mechanics saw, and fixed the small things that were breaking down over the thousands of miles. If I had money, we'd fix what was wrong, and if not, I'd bring it back in a few weeks. We put in a new clutch and new transmission (among other things), and the car kept rolling. One of the nagging issues with the car was that the (original) A/C compressor was breaking down, an expensive repair I never really had money for ($1300, quoted at Roos and elsewhere). At one point, I told Baki that the A/C compressor was turning on when I used the defrost, and I was afraid it would finally blow up, requiring a replacement of the entire air conditioning system. He walked out the front door of the shop, opened the hood of the car, unplugged the A/C compressor, and said, "There. When you get some money, we'll get it fixed." I've had nothing but good experiences with Baki and the rest of the staff at Roos Only -- it always felt like we had the same goal, of keeping my old Subaru running as long as possible. I never got the fear-mongering sales pitch I've had at a couple different places in the Denver area, and sent lots of friends all the way to Englewood to get work done at Roos Only. read more
