Joe is amazing! I have an Acura MDX 2006 and it needed new CV Boots and Sway Links. The dealership was going to charge me about $1200 and Joe did it for $500. That's a whopping $700 savings! He completed the work in just 4 hours and gave me a detailed receipt which also showed the regular maintenance the vehicle needs and how often. Being that I'm not car savvy, this helped me tremendously! He also responded to all of my texts with questions promptly and professionally! I have taken 2 cars in for various important repairs many times. Joe has been nothing but professional, friendly, courteous, honest, and fair with his pricing. On a few occasions he said something might need doing, but he will check if it is necessary and then let me know if it wasn't, rather than just doing it and charging for it like most other mechanics would. I brought my CRX in to Tech One to have my ECT sensor replaced, and to replace the valve cover gasket. Joe quickly fixed the ECT sensor, and upon removing the valve cover discovered that there was some serious damage to the threading for the valve cover screws which was causing an oil leak. He sent me pictures of what he found, and of the metal piece that was floating around in the cylinder head as a result of the damage. I purchased a new cylinder head on my own, but the shop was not able to fulfill my order after about 3-4 weeks. I kept in contact with Joe the entire time letting him know when I had spoken to the shop, and every time he assured me that it was ok that my car was still sitting outside his shop. Upon receiving a new cylinder head, Joe began swapping it in. While doing this he found a few more metal pieces that had been stuck in the cylinder head as a result of the damage mentioned above. He advised taking off the oil pan, and checking for other pieces. I decided not to do this because I do believe that he found all of the metal pieces from the damage. The point is that throughout the process of getting my car fixed, Joe's suggestions always came from a place of wanting to do the job the right way, and I really appreciated it. My CRX is back running like a champ, and I have Joe to thank for it! If anything else comes up with my CRX I will be sure to bring it back to Tech One. Thanks, Joe! read more

I WOULD GIVE A ZERO .. JOE IS NOT HONEST AND HE DOES NOT CARE ABOUT YOUR VEHICLE ONLY $$ HIS WORKS SUCKS .. INSTALLED A RADIATOR NEVER CHANGE OLD HOSES OR CHECKED THE TERMOSTAT .. ONE DAY PASSED AND UPPER HOSE SPLIT 3" .. I HAD TO CHANGE IT MYSELF .. BROUGHT IT IN NEXT DAY AND JOE I DON'T KNOW WHY?? Every mechanic I talked to said it's called new on new basic mechanics 101 when you replace a radiator you replace all the hoses clamps and you check the thermostat to make sure it's still good. When I asked him about it he said he's never heard of it but took my $500 dollars. Well that's not the end of it the next two weeks my car kept leaking coolant from the Overflow cap. I brought it into him twice to look at and he said it was not a problem and he just zip tied the rubber hose on top well sure enough.. I go on a trip and I'm driving up Eisenhower and my car overheats and it blows the head gasket I have it towed to a shop and they told me the head gasket is Warped and they also told me the first sign was when the top of the reserve cap was leaking and foaming out it should have been a warning sign to Good Old Joe that something was going on inside their but he didn't know that ..when I called him and confronted him he played stupid and basically brushed me off after I have been spending thousands of dollars with this man for the last five years this man is a rip-off and I would never use this business!! read more

Joe got me taken care of super quick and at a great price. Words of praise won't do him justice, but I'll still try. I try to do my own repairs, but just didn't have the time to do this timing belt change. Joe seems like a really nice guy with plenty of knowledge about Hondas/Acuras AND willing to share. Upon arrival to drop the car off (after hours) I was underwhelmed with the look of the shop (small place; not fancy). When I picked the car up and saw how organized and clean his shop was, I was embarrassed thinking of my own garage. The place was spotless! Well used, but spotless. Just received the car back yesterday and haven't climbed under the hood, but it runs smoother and there's no leaks or smells from leaks that always happen during this type of work. Acura MDX that I just bought used - replaced water pump, timing belt, accessory drive belt and spark plugs. He was hundreds cheaper than the other quotes I got and did it in a day! I guess having a small shop reduces the overhead and helps him give great deals??? I know where I'm going for future work on my Hondas (when I can't get to it myself). So nice to find someone you can trust. As far as the one negative review he has on Yelp, I can say from working in the auto parts industry years ago that there are some people that you just can't make happy, even after bending over backwards and doing almost everything you can except buy them a new car. We had a guy blame us for blowing up his battery because HE was testing spark plugs he had bought from us. He was grounding them next to the battery. Duh. Batteries emit hydrogen. Add a spark and BOOM! We ended up giving him a free battery and he still wasn't happy! The manager had to ask him to leave and threaten to call the police. It's people like that who make it tough for business owners to 'help' people. I imagine Joe was just trying to help that guy out and he got repaid with bad vibes. read more

I had taken my Civic into another shop and after a few hours they let me know my ac issue was due to needing the condenser replaced, and let me know it would be over $1,500. Joe gave me an estimate over the phone which was way less. I dropped my car off and he called me about 15 minutes later to let me know that the issue was actually due to a wire needing to be reconnected, and he didn't charge me for it. It's really rare to find someone that honest. I will not be taking my car anywhere else from now on! read more

I have a 2001 Civic with 100K that needed a bunch of work to make it a dependable second car-- thermostat, clutch, power steering pump, valve adjust, engine mount, struts and more. Dealer estimate $4200, Joe $2500. The after-market engine mount made the engine vibrate a little. Joe replaced with the OEM part at no charge. Good mechanic, honest guy. Another horrible mechanic. I had joe(owner) replace my timing belt on 92 accord. I texted him twice to remind him to check my timing and set it. He said he did and it was perfect(15btdc). After a few months of trying to find out what was wrong with my car. I found out my timing was set extremely advanced and had ruined parts of top end of engine. When i confronted him with issue he offered to give me 40 dollars and finally admitted to not doing what he said(set timing). My engine repair costs alot more than 40 dollars and timing belt cost 300 plus parts. 40 dollars, funny, my engine repair is going to cost 1k or more. Joe can turn a wrench but he couldn't care about doing it right if it takes an extra 5 minutes. He's always in a rush and whatever is the fastest way is the right way for him. I had him do a few other things on my car at same time and some of that was done incorrectly also. I waited 6 months to write this review trying to give Joe a chance to remedy his mistake to no avail. read more
