I can't thank the team at The Toy Shop enough! I had a very weird and sporadic issue with my ABS brakes going off randomly in my Rav4 while driving which was incredibly scary and dangerous. It would cause the car to think it was slipping and brake out of nowhere. This was also so hard to diagnose because it would be miles and miles before it would happen and be undrivable until turning the car off and on. Amy and Greg went WAY above and beyond and took the time to diagnose the car and kept it with them until they could have the issue happen again. Most other shops would never have done this and simply would have dismissed it until I could show them the issue first hand. I am so very grateful they took the time to help find and fix the issue and highly recommend them to everyone! They have a new life long customer and my family and I will never go anywhere else. I have been using the Toy Shop for years for 2 different vehicles. They first helped me with my 07 4Runner and I appreciated the fair pricing and how it didn't feel like they tried to sell me. There were times where they said they recommended that I wait for a repair and we scheduled a further appointment so that I didn't waste money. That definitely builds trust with a customer. So it was a no-brainer to return with my 14 4Runner and they just replaced a front strut, front rotors and all brake pads this week. Always easy doing business with them and very friendly team. I always drop my car off the night before because you can safely drop your keys and there are good lights/security cameras. Highly recommend this business for anyone with a Toyota! read more

Very unfortunate to see the decline in customer service and quality at this shop. I went in for a full service and they did not balance the tires after rotating. One of the mechanics was extremely unprofessional and quite frankly a loser with a terrible attitude. Lacking all accountability. I do not recommend this place to anyone unless you want to pay $180 per hour for unqualified labor. read more

I have had Toyotas for my whole life and taken my cars to Greg at the Toy Shop for the LAST 30 years for manufacturer recommended maintenance, brakes and the very occasional fix. The Toy shop has without any exception been timely, professional, helpful and great vibe to work with. The prices have always been every time reasonable. It's been great to have a mechanic shop you know is there AND you can trust. I would recommend them highly. But if everybody knows, and secret gets out about the best place around, then I would be happy. I'll share. Just joking! I've been here 4 times now after moving from my previous Toyota mechanic (who had started becoming less reliable and a little suspicious). He's corrected emergency repairs from another shop - working with me by phone before I brought the car in. His recommendations and prices have so far always been within expected ranges. The only things I'd call out for attention are: - invoices you get outline repairs done and work/charges, but don't have detail on, e.g. brake measurements, fluid levels before topping off, etc. - they don't include brake inspections by default, at least for maintenance visits I've done. I've had to ask them to check each time. Good mechanics that you can implicitly trust are hard to find. I don't have that yet fully given I've only been here a few times so far, but I've got a good feeling and good results so far. read more

I THOUGHT this was a good place to bring our Lexus and Toyota. My husband was not taken care of at all. He waited and worked there all day in preparation for a very long road trip with a rescued senior Great Dane. Most of what they said was done was not done at all!! In addition, they should have caught the major issues with our truck. We trusted this place to make sure our vehicle was safe for a long distance trip. They did not do what they said they did. We were almost in a really bad accident due to our trusting that they conducted proper diagnostics and any necessary maintenance. Wow! I'm a first-time customer and I am very impressed. The engine in my 10 year old Prius with 160k miles started making a horrible knocking noise on the way to work on Wednesday. My regular mechanic wouldn't even look at it. He said if the engine was knocking on that car I needed a new engine and to take it to the dealership or a Toyota specialist. I needed to find a shop that was close and knew what they were doing with a Toyota Hybrid. The Toy Shop came highly recommended and there's a reason. I called the shop and they were able to work me in that afternoon. Greg knew what it was immediately and I did not need a new engine, just a new water pump. Greg had the Prius ready to go in less than 24 hours with an oil change to boot! The prices are very reasonable and it's is great to be working with an expert Toyota specialist. read more

As of right now I give them 5 stars. I had a new Toyota factory fan belt put in my 1994 Toyota 4x2 (rear wheel drive) pickup. My old one was working - but squealing a lot at times and had a non-Toyota off market (NAPA/ORilely - Auto-parts) belt in it. This was a preemptive "repair" for me - it cost me $32 for the part and service. It's a super easy and fast thing to put in. This truck's engine is simple (22R-E). The service was great. The shop is small and could be called rough around the edges (which has it's advantages); but if you need a Toyota, Lexus and Scion specialist this is the place to go to in Denver. I would take future more complex jobs to them. The location is awkward (a little hard to find) - if you had to wait around for a repair there wouldn't be any place to go - walk to or take transit to. So if you have to leave your car over night - or all day - you'll have to arrange transportation. You can tell they know what they are doing and love Toyota's. For what it's worth - this is not a paid for post - this website seems to have a lot of those fake paid for posts. read more

I haven't even gotten my truck back yet, but already wanted to write a review. Greg's customer service has been incredible; I didn't know car-focused companies could be helpful and honest, anymore. If you're thinking about getting a Toyota or Lexus via private-party purchase, use Greg for your pre-inspection or just call him if you have questions, then bring it to him for anything it needs after purchase. I recently bought an '04 Tacoma from an acquaintance that ended up needing a lot of work. Through the whole process, Greg has been very responsive (always answers the phone) and speaks to me--who knows little about how cars run--in a friendly, down-to-earth manner. He offered to find used parts for some of the work needed to save me money, and walked me specifically through the repairs (including some that are costing less on the final estimate than he initially predicted) and pointing out where I could wait a few months on certain things to not have to spend so much up front. Dealing with anything related to cars makes me suspicious since, as a woman, I almost always feel taken advantage of, but not with The Toy Shop. I'm so glad I found them! He was also able to get me in just a few days after I called while my husband has to schedule oil changes at the dealer where he bought his Jeep three weeks in advance! And since I live out in Golden, I appreciate their location near the light rail and bike path. Can't wait to pick up my Tacoma and start taking it on adventures. read more

First off, I found the Toy Shop on Yelp and my experience with the them didn't disappoint which proves to me yet again that Yelp is a great place to find great service. I have two Toyotas, both of which are over ten years old. I just had both serviced at the Toy Shop last week and was very impressed. They didn't try to up sell me on what I didn't need and I feel much better going into this winter having gotten done what they did recommend. The price was significantly less than I would have paid had I gone to a Toyota dealership service department. I have a 2002 RAV4 that had accelerated slowly for years and had had weak brakes for at least a year. This vehicle had been seen by two or three other mechanics in the last four years and the acceleration and brake issues had either not been diagnosed correctly or had actually been caused by poor installation (brake pads). The Toy Shop noticed both issues and fixed them at minimal cost. The vehicle feels so different that I actually had my girlfriend drive it when we got home just to feel how it was so much better. Vehicle drop off, pick up, and a phone call with details on the repairs were all seamless and much appreciated. I can say with honesty that I've never been so impressed by a trip to the mechanic. Our nearly 20-year-old Tundra needed more than the usual twice a year oil change. Even though we live in Summit County, it was absolutely worth the small hassle of taking the truck down to The Toy Shop in Denver. They fixed a worn out ignition key cylinder, replaced both headlights, replaced the burned out dash lights, swapped our winter wheels and tires for the summer set, and took care of a few other neglected issues. We'll be back in the fall to re-swap the tires and take care of a few other details. 170,000 miles in, the Tundra drives like new. Greg kept me updated throughout and the estimate was accurate. Saved a considerable amount of $ by taking the Truck to the Toy Shop. Here's just one example: they swapped all four tires and wheels for $20.00. In Summit, that would also be $20.00 .. A few minutes after it was in the shop, he came and got me. He brought me in to where my truck was. Showed me how good the fluid looked and told me he didn't recommend changing my fluid and didn't want to take my money. Wow! You never hear that from mechanics. Greg is different from the rest. I told my wife our next car has to be another Toyota simply because of the outstanding service we've gotten from Greg and his team over the years. Latest example: the trunk latch on our 2004 Sequoia broke for the second time a few days ago. I paid nearly $800 at the toyota dealership to get it fixed the first time. The Toy Shop fixed it just today with a better latch (metal, not plastic). Total bill including an oil change, rotate and balance was $333. I should add that Greg was kind enough to fit us into his busy schedule. He new we needed our Sequoia for a new year's ski trip up the hill and made the repairs happen on short notice. Greg is a real Toyota expert who demonstrated that to me in 2017 and again this year. Greg found the source of a problem in my older Avalon that other repair shops mis-diagnosed. On top of that, he said it was not that severe a problem and it was up to me whether to pay over $2500 (required pulling the engine) to have it have it totally fixed. The car has been running fine since 2017 and I have not had to spend $2500. Another repair was optional when Greg could have easily said it needed to be done immediately. If you have a Toyota and want a straight-shooting mechanic who really knows Toyotas, you can't do better than bringing it to The Toy Shop. read more
