Not sure where all the comments about new management are coming from, the same owners and managers are still here. They do amazing work and are always upfront with the repairs or maintenance needed. I've never had a problem and they take care of all my cars, including my in-laws cars and my moms. The front desk crew and the techs are always willing to answer questions. I am an elderly person who was taken advantage of by Toy Car Care! My experience with Toy Car Care was one of the worst experiences I have ever had and I would suggest you run far away from this place because they hold your vehicle hostage and keep changing the repair price until you pay what they want. In my opinion, they have violated many parts of the Colorado Motor Vehicle Repair act and I am considering pursuing legal actions against them. I initially brought the vehicle in after being quoted $850 for the repair. After having the car towed to their shop, I was effectively told that diagnostics were required before they would proceed. At no point was I given a clear timeline for when the vehicle would be returned, and there was little transparency throughout the process. The estimate then increased to approximately $1,200, only to eventually become $1,629, including vague charges for "shop supplies." The amount seemed to change repeatedly, and I never received a clear written estimate explaining the escalating charges. The receptionist is the rudest person alive, who screams at you when you call to check on the status of your car. Steve, the manager, had nothing to say about this "sliding scale" pricing and disrespectful behavior. What is most concerning is that Toy Car Care allegedly obtained authorization through my son rather than from me, the vehicle owner and paying customer, which is also not permitted under law. I never received a written estimate, only verbal discussions that kept changing and were relayed through my son, who is not the owner of the car. Colorado's Motor Vehicle Repair Act requires repair facilities to provide estimates and obtain proper customer authorization before performing repairs. See C.R.S. § 42-9-104 (consent and estimate requirements) and§ 42-9-105 (additional repairs requiring customer consent). I never received a written estimate, did not authorize this repair beyond $850 and did not give consent for a third party to act on my behalf. What began as an approximately $850 repair became a $1,629 bill for an elderly person through a series of escalating charges, verbal estimates, and alleged authorizations that were never properly obtained from me. Once the vehicle was in their possession, it felt like we had no meaningful choice but to keep paying as the numbers continued to climb. The entire experience left us feeling misled, pressured, and taken advantage of. I would never trust this Toy Car Care with another vehicle and would strongly caution others to look elsewhere, especially if you are a senior! read more

My family's experience with Toy Car Care was outrageous. They took possession of my elderly mother's vehicle, gave her the runaround for more than a week, repeatedly changed the price, and ultimately charged nearly double the amount originally quoted. What started as an approximately $850 repair turned into a bill of over $1,600. My mother was never given a clear explanation of the escalating charges, never received meaningful transparency regarding the invoice, and was never told when her vehicle would be returned. Being left without transportation for over a week was especially difficult for an elderly customer. Even more concerning, repairs were allegedly authorized without obtaining approval directly from my mother, the owner of the vehicle. Throughout the process, communication was poor, and simple requests for updates were reportedly met with rudeness and hostility. As a physician, I find it particularly upsetting when businesses take advantage of elderly individuals who are simply trying to do the right thing. In my opinion, this was one of the most unethical customer service experiences my family has ever encountered. My mother was left feeling confused, pressured, and taken advantage of. I have to start by saying, over many years and at least a dozen vehicles, we've been pretty happy with the service and honesty of this place... till now. After my daughter taking her car in for an oil change, they called her to say she needed multiple thousands of dollars of work - ok. She ask them to wait far a few minutes till she Spoke with me. within 15mins we chatted and listed what they recommended. I calls them back and talks to Tim (Nice guy), and said we would not be doing anything but the oil change for now. Later my daughter picked up her car and the bill was 530$~!! i found out later in the day and called to see why it was so high for an oil change (albeit full synthetic). They said they were performing a "special service" that was recommended and that I included a list of things not asked for and I'm my conversation with Tim - not mentioned. I expressly requested an oil change only for the time being, till we'd had time to explore what she would elect to do maybe sooner or later. The issue is this, they didn't communicate to me in the phone call, what all they would be doing (other than the oil change). They then do what i can only assume is taking advantage of a young woman's naivety (?) and do what I'd consider stuffing the bill to up the list of work. Needless to say, their practice in this matter is very unfortunate - and after so many years of good service I will no longer be using their services. Buyer beware. read more

Took my '05 4runner with 315000 miles on it. I knew it needed work - badly. Got my power steering replaced, which I knew would be expensive. Still, I found them to be honest and personable. Bubba and Marshall were great, the repair was great. No complaints. I would have given them 5 stars, but it was only my first time there so I'll see how it goes after some more work, but so far so good. Not the cheapest but not overpriced. Darn, was hoping this business would satisfy our service needs for our 2007 Lexus SUV with 133,000 miles on it. One owner.....us. Walked in to have headlight beams checked and ran into big attitude. Basically simple rudeness. Why it came out I'll never know. Bad morning perhaps. Had to turn around, ask for keys back, and left. I see I am not the only one who has experienced this. He needed a new side mirror so he had them order the part and made an appointment. We drove up and he checked in. I settled myself in their comfortable waiting area. It's cool as it has a small 'desk' section and then there's the coffee table with two end tables and chairs scattered around. There's a patio area attached to the customer lounge but it was snowing so we sat inside. Plug points available so I could charge my hotspot and laptop while using them. Handy. TV set to watch while you wait. They have drinks available but the only hot drink choice was coffee. No tea or hot cocoa which was disappointing. I got some water. Restroom available but I didn't need it so I can't tell you what they're like. The associates were professional and friendly. We waited while they made the repair and it was comfortable. When they were done, they came in and let us know. We paid and then were off to continue our errands. read more

The "great': I brought my '99 4Runner to them to diagnose an issue. They did so and nailed it, so I thank them for that and the price was fair and reasonable. The "bad" ...they took 5 bolts out of my timing cover to pull back and test fuel pressure at the fuel rail and left 5 out of 6 of the bolts out. Fortunately, it isn't really critical oversight. When I asked them about it, they blew me off. I just wanted my bolts back. I wasn't mad about it. The :"could do better" - Communication - took two attempts to get them to call me back with an appt. ..and the missing bolts... call a guy back. They would have gotten a 5 star rating... I had my Lexus LS 460's a/c compressor pulley lock-up, causing the serpentine belt to shred and cut off alternator electrical service and radiator fan providing engine cooling, so had car towed to dealer for repair. Dealer charged $1,300 for diagnosis (which, I believe, any competent mechanic could have recognized was the serpentine belt failure issues that I described to them) replaced the serpentine belt, which immediately shredded, since they missed the a/c lock-up, and estimated repair of a/c compressor at the exorbitant price of over $5,000! Toy Car Care replaced the a/c compressor for less than half of what the dealer quoted. These guys are honest, fair and great! read more

I was hoping to find a shop that specializes in older Toyotas and actually know what they are doing, but I was wrong. First impression was good. however I went to pick my truck up they didn't fix the issue I was having but lucky for them they "found" 2 things wrong. drove off the lot the check engine light comes on and the car was riding rough... brought it back. then got a phone call after saying the ignition coil went bad without saying they would handle it. They ended up taking to my husband who they treated very different than me. I went to call them reguarding the level of service and was immediately treated with attitude saying "what do you want from us we already installed the ignition coil (that was their fault) for free what else do you want" needless to say I WILL NEVER GO BACK OR REFER ANYONE THERE!! I brought my car to them for an oil change a couple of times. Decided that I no longer wanted to pay for oil changes when I can do it at a 3rd of the price. I go to do the oil change and I notice that my drain plug cover plate is no longer there. I call them up and the guy tells me, "only half of the vehicle we get have them." Huh oh really, he checks his notes on the car and tells me they wrote has trd skid plate since mine is a pro trim level. Doesn't say anything about my cover/plate. Had they said something to me when I first brought it to them I could have called the dealership, but since they said nothing I don't know if they lost it, or the dealership did. I'd make sure to check if you choose to get an oil change from them. If not they will tell you to go kick rocks. I won't ever be going back after that customer service. read more

I can't say enough great things about this shop! Took my wife's Lexus in for timing belt and got a great rate! Also discovered other issues with the car that unfortunately will prohibit us from keeping it much longer, however, instead of trying to con us on in needed repairs they were completely upfront and honest and even suggested ways we could prolong the car! I moved around so many times in the last few years, and I've been to a lot of different mechanics, but this one has been the most impressive. I have had regular maintenance done as well as a couple of more intensive problems fixed, and Toy Car Care is professional and honest. They were also reasonably priced. I drive a Rav4 with around 200k miles--they never try to upsell me service I don't need just because I have a high mileage car, they keep appointment times, and they have given me incredibly accurate estimates for repairs. If there's a problem with the car, they are upfront about what is urgent and which repairs can wait. The last time I waited for an oil change I heard one of the service advisors talk a man through a serious issue with his car--he was professional, courteous, respectful, and understanding when the customer said he wanted to think about it and maybe get a second opinion. He was never condescending and explained the whole problem in great detail (as opposed to some mechanics who have a take-it-or-leave-it attitude). I would 100% recommend them! read more

Been getting my Tacoma serviced at Toy Car Care for over a year, maybe two years, and have always had a positive experience. My wife just had her Lexus serviced there last week and commented about the good service and friendly, helpful employees. Over the weekend I took my Tacoma through a car wash and the drivers side rear view mirror cover popped off and flew away. We recovered the part and since it seemed to be intact I tried to re-attach it. Couldn't get it to click into place. Today I drove to Toy Car Care. After explaining my problem and showing the guy at the counter the cover he told me I'd probably have to go to the dealership. But he offered to take e look Long story short, he came out from behind the counter and went to the parking lot here my Tacoma was parked. After 3 minutes or so I had given up and just assumed I'd have to go to the dealership but then like magic ( after some manipulation ) the unit snapped in and just like that my Tacoma was perfect again. I would NEVER take my car to the this place again! My 2003 Toyota Rav4 wouldn't start so my regular shop thought it might be electrical and recommended Toy Car Care, after checking it out found it was the fusible link so replaced this. When I got the car back from them they had cut my stereo wires and told me that they couldn't fix this because my stereo wasn't factory equipment. SERIOUSLY! How ridiculous is this and how many people have the original factory stereo from and automobile built in 2003!!! I brought in a vehicle for an inspection (used car, Toyota) with an interest on buying it. The inspection was thorough and very detail-oriented. I felt it was fair and it happened to be that it was enough for me to decline purchase of the vehicle (at a local dealership). I was allowed back to look at the vehicle, above and below, and was given a chance to query the inspecting mechanic, who was very forthcoming in his report. WAYYYY overcharged for a rear brake job!!! When they told me the cost to do rear brakes and e-brake I initially thought it was high. When I considered it further, I called back 25 minutes later to cancel the rear brakes, and for them only to do the emergency brake job - broken e-brake spring prevented rotor from coming off so I could not complete job at home. Within that 25 minute window of the initial call, he said they were half way through the job so I had no alternative. Oddly for being half way done it took them about 3 hours more to call and say car was ready. Just feel like they took at least an hour longer than needed - which was all labor. Heck my 14 year old daughter and I, with no special tools, changed the fronts brakes, pads and rotors, in an hour. And these guys are pros? read more

I just had the worst customer experience at the Toy Car Care mechanic shop in Centennial, Colorado. This was my favorite auto shop for years (for my Toyota and Lexus cars) but not anymore and here's why. I took my wife's Sienna to check it for coolant leak. They quoted me a fee to check it and that if they find a problem and fix it then the fee would be applied toward the total cost. I dropped off the car and got a call later in the day that they found out the coolant block off plate needs to be resealed, and that the radiator cap wasn't holding pressure enough and needs to be replaced. I was quoted $241 and I agreed to charges. They said the sealant needs to be completely dry before the car can be driven so I kept the car with the shop overnight... Received call from Greg the next day that the compressor failed while they were bleeding the cooling system. I did not have any problem with the AC, the compressor was just fine before I drop off the car and the AC was working great. In fact this shop replaced the AC compressor/assembly, clutch, belts, water bump and few other things etc...around 2016/2017 and I spent thousands of dollars back then. I believe they overcharged the AC system with too much refrigerant and caused the compressor to failure and I wanted them to take responsibility for the failure but they refused to take any fault & didn't show any remorse ...Greg was rude! I was quoted about $1700 to replace the compressor, including the $241 sealant fix. Angry and frustrated is an understatement. I didn't want to drive the car off the lot with a broken compressor, so I agreed to have it replaced...figured would bite the bullet and move, although I shouldn't be paying this money. Later in the day they called me back that they replaced the compressor but the AC is not cooling enough. They quoted me additional $266 for them to further diagnosis as to why the AC is not cooling enough but I refused. WTF!! Are you FXXX kidding me! I ended up paying $1680 for damages they caused, and all I wanted was to fix a small leak! The AC now is worst than it was before I dropped off the van. I will never go back there again. read more

From the beginning of this visit I should have turned & left. Horrible Customer service, very condescending. The diagnostic check is $116. Vehicle was at this shop for 6 hours, when they contacted me with the $1100 results I told employee would be there to pick it up, he then said, you are not even going to replace the gas cap ($95)? I said, I can't justify the cost & would get a new gas cap on my own, he then said, "well you've done that once before and you see how that worked for you. And, you're polluting the environment!!" I asked about the findings on the invoice when I picked up the vehicle and he said, it's all right there, you can read it!!! Done,done,done with this place. Took the vehicle to Big I & work was done for $500 less then TCC wanted. Just do your due diligence & research before having repairs done at TCC. read more

I did give three stars because the work they did was good, however, I don't think I'll be going back. I was interested in a place that worked on Toyota specific vehicles because I wanted genuine toyota parts installed on my wife's minivan. (I just have not had good luck with aftermarket parts). Anyway, the reason I won't be back is because after my brake job they told me the total cost was $580 (reasonable for what they needed to do). When I show up to pay, the total was $634 and some change! About 25 bucks for taxes, and then $30 bucks for "Shop Supplies." 1. First and foremost, when you tell me the total cost give me the TOTAL COST so I'm not surprised when I'm giving you my money! 2. Taxes, fine we all need to pay those but see #1!! 3. Shop Supplies??? Really? If you buy a dozen doughnuts do you have a "Bakery Supplies" surcharge? If you need to cover the cost of SUPPLIES TO RUN YOUR BUSINESS shouldn't you factor that into your parts markup? 4. WOW! Highly recommended. My normal shop wanted over $400 to do what they did for $140. I had 2 serpentine belts that were basically falling off they were so bad. My other shop also suggested some things that they said I should wait on, and that they weren't necessary unless there was a need. I like a shop like this, because I don't have money falling out of my (you know what) to give away. I like that they have Dave Logan's endorsement too. Just to make everything better, I dropped my car off after hours the night before. There was another gentleman there doing the same. I asked him if he'd ever been here, as it was my first time. He said he has 3 cars he brought here and they have done nothing but an awesome job. That sealed the deal for me! read more

Specialize in Toyota and Lexus. It's closer for me than driving to a Lexus dealer, but not much cheaper. The think I like about getting service from the dealer are the extras, like a plush waiting room, complimentary food and drink, wifi, computers, etc. You won't get this treatment here. First off, they fit me in for a last minute appointment and seemed happy to do it. I have been to Toy Car Care twice - once a few months ago to have my brakes checked as they were making noises and something seemed "off". They are friendly and professional and very accommodating. I was delighted to a) learn that my brakes were fine and the noise was simply caused by brake dust, which they removed b) they were honest with me and charged me only for the inspection. The second time I came back was this past weekend when my serpentine belt snapped (due to simply being worn out and not having been replaced when it should have been due to my negligence) and the battery subsequently died. They were able to replace the belt and battery in one day, without a prior appointment, working past their closing time of 5 PM so that I could have my car done that day. They go the extra mile here - from a comfortable waiting area, to upfront costs (no upsells, no extras) to doing high quality work. I recommend them wholeheartedly if you have a Toyota or Lexus that needs maintenance or repair. read more
