We stopped in for the first time to buy some new vacation clothes. What a great store! Many employees were ready and waiting to help you search for items. Graham walked up and asked if I needed anything. I told him what I was looking for, and he took me over to where the three items were. I'm a bigger guy so that some clothes won't fit me. We walked over to the dressing room, where I tried on the items, but unfortunately, they didn't fit properly. Graham waited outside the dressing room to ensure I needed nothing else. Side note: it was the cleanest dressing room I have ever seen. Since they didn't fit, there was no point in searching for different manufacturers. I said thank you to him and walked over to try on shoes. Several minutes later, Graham returned with a pair of shorts he thought might work. He sized them next to the other pairs I tried on and said it was a little bigger. I gave the new pair a shot, and they fit better than the others. Who does that these days? He could've easily walked away and started doing something other than helping me. Graham was killing it with customer service. By far, they are the cleanest and best customer service employees I have seen in a very long time. Great job, Scheels. I'm now a fan and will return. read more

Father's Day shopping this afternoon with the kids, we were looking for very specific items on that crazy wishlist. We were assisted in mostly every department with finding some stuff that were impossible for us to find. One stop shop I tell ya! This place is amazing. Their associates are so helpful and friendly. If they don't know something they will find the answer. The bathrooms are always so clean. The fish tanks are so fun to look at. They always have enough cashiers where you don't have to wait forever. I could spend hours here more often then I already do! Definitely worth checking out! read more

Scheels Reno used to be a great alternative to other stores like REI and some of the local mountain gear stores when it came to trail hiking shoes. Since the remodel in the shoe department, it has become more of a major mall department store atmosphere. It's like they forgot about the trail hikers, and only sell big name brands now like Nike, OC and dress shoes! I can find gear and clothing for trail hiking but the hiking shoe and hiking boot is really just an afterthought. Heavy, uncomfortable, ugly colors and just not really keeping up with the ultralight hiking trail shoe or boot. Scheels Reno needs to understand that we live in an area where people love to hike and be in the mountains or deserts, and having a bigger variety of hiking shoes and boots would be more beneficial for the outdoors person. Please, please carry more options for the Ultralight Backpacker!!!! And please go back to carrying more options of shoe inserts like you used to! read more

I've always loved scheels even when I was little it was the most fun store to go to, we recently brought in our new pup Shelby and oh my all the employees loved her, dogs are allowed in the facility and they even clean up when your pup has an accident luckily Shelby didn't go pee or poo. We went to the service center and they gave us a free Bandana and many dog treats, you might see Shelby in the Facebook post that how popular she was! Other than the amazing service this place is top notch!! So many options of clothes, amo, water sports, golf, etc! I think that they have food court as well it's been a long time since I've actually went to check If it's still there. This store is great but the service has gotten awful. Needed some oil for gun so we asked a girl and she says I think it is over by the safes and then went back to her cell phone. When we purchased our last gun we had to practically beg someone to help us. There are always a ton of employees working so it's strange. Scheels is the second outlet mall in Sparks NV and they sell more like indoor and outdoor activity stuff. Also I like the indoor Ferris wheel & The Fish Tank inside of that building. I like most of the stuff in that mall they sell is the Guns Rifle & Shotguns but that's only for hunting. Some of their shoes are cheap for sell like the Adidas Nike and under armor. In California stuff like that are too expensive to buy. I go Visit there all the time like the nature background and all the display presidents. One day I might buy a Nevada Wolfpack college hoodie. Meant to finish this review a while ago but have been busy...We stayed in Sparks last year near Scheels and was not disappointed, It reminds me of a Bass Pro Shop but with a smaller and more intimate feel. We ended up buying some shoes for my son who only brought his Crocs with him...The staff were all very friendly and helpful. The store was well-organized and easy to navigate. Cashier Cello was great and easy to work with even when my hat did not have a bar code on it. Store is a bit of a mess due to construction, but they have plenty of people around to help out. Only downsides were the filthy bathroom and lack of Reno Aces gear. Otherwise, Scheels probably has what you are looking for, and then some. read more

This Scheels is one of my absolute favorite places to shop and even just wander around, especially on a cold day. They have such an amazing selection of items, it's rare they don't have what I'm looking for and many things I'm not looking for. Definitely my favorite sports store in town! First Floor: The large fish tanks on either end of the store, the little play structure in children's shoes, and the ferris wheel are an excellent source of entertainment for the kiddos! They also have an amazing little cafe with excellent coffee and fudge! They have a great variety of food on their lunch menu as well and there is plenty of seating to enjoy your food and drinks. Second Floor: More fun for the kids (and adults for their inner child also)! They have a mini bowling lane, a shooting range, arcade games, and a candy shop! There's no way to not be entertained here! And for educational purposes, various presidential statues with speakers that share information about them. The staff have always been friendly and helpful in every department. They make excellent recommendations and have tons of knowledge in their area/department of work. Went in to buy ice skates. The gentleman that helped me was fantastic. He took his time explaining the different brands. Once I picked my pair heated them up to mold them to my feet. Super nice and took his time. He then suggested I go and get the blades sharpened on-site for no additional fee. I was told it would be 20 minutes so visited their cafe. This was a really amazing place to visit, and we were looking for small gifts for kids at home. They have a Ferris Wheel! If my 16 year old was here, I could not have stopped her. They have so much clothes and okay prices. I was visiting, so I did not buy as much as I would have liked to. It is trickey to get to, unless you know the area. We checked out some prices of things we have up our way, and it was all about the same. Very nice workers there. Even though this is a place all my men would love, I liked the clothing selection. Awesome place and friendly staff. But they are doing a terrible job with pandemic safety. This is written in August 2021 where masks are enforced by the state of Nevada for all indoor venues. But they aren't enforcing it in their place. They are violating a state mandate. Such a shame considering that this place was 5-stars for me before the pandemic. There are so many fun venues in this huge store and I enjoy it. But their lack of care for COVID safety is what drops this place three stars for me in this time. I don't care about what beliefs or opinions the people running this store have on mask mandates. Safety and public health comes first. It's not Scheels' fault that customers are not wearing masks, but if they are not enforcing health regulations and adhering to state mandates, it will be their downfall in the pandemic. Unless this pandemic completely ends, if you truly care about your safety with COVID, don't shop here. I haven't seen many Yelpers touch upon this issue (given the recent mandates as of this post), so I thought to address it here. They should be enforcing these things in this time. EDIT: I am giving one star back since the service there id very good. I particularly want to shout out Casey, Cole and Paschence for being very passionate team members that helped me look for stuff. That being said, I'm still very skeptical about covid safety here. But I am giving a little bit more credit where it is due. read more

This is a destination. I loved this place. So many cool photo ops, candy store, Ferris wheel, cafe. We would have spent the day, but we had to run out and pick up our tickets. We took so many fun pictures and found a few must have items. They have a great winter jacket section. The good section is vast and you can hold any one you want, just ask a staff member. That is so cool. The guy I talked to said people do it all the time, even when they have no intention of buying. It seems they also have an indoor gun range, but it was closed. I'm not big into shopping, but I do love the outdoors and all the fun gear and clothing that goes with it. So If I'm going to do any outdoor gear or clothes shopping, it would probably be here. They have a lot of everything for many different sports and activities, from kayaking to camping, hunting to fishing, and much more. Big sections on clothing brands like Adidas, Patagonia, Kuhl, Free People, and the such. If you bring your kids, they can ride a Ferris wheel, hit up the candy shop, or take a pic in one of the many photo op props. When you get hungry, there is a nice cafe with hearty sandwiches, soups, and even gelato! There is a home decor area with homey, kind of country-ish furniture and decorations. It's big, I'll give them that. Did they have what I needed? No. I thought they had everything? I needed some golf equipment they didn't have (or carry). I then was looking for some lightweight pullovers. Selection was extremely limited. It was difficult to find anything in apparel because everything was spread out. I don't need to look at fish, presidents or ride a ferris wheel. I'm not there for the flashy stuff, just the items I need and leave. Also, Nevada reinstated mask wearing inside all buildings. A sign is even posted on the doors stating the mask mandate. I'd say half the people were wearing masks, nobody was enforcing the rules. Even the employees were maskless. read more

I brought my bow in for a small service. The guys behind the counter were helpful and got my bow fixed quickly. However, they were talking crap about another customer and the way he shot his bow. It was very rude & condescending. Then they charged me but made sure to inform me that they should charge me more since I didn't buy my bow from them. They should be aware that everyone can hear what they are saying and be kinder. read more

Had an amazing experience today. Not only did we get all the help you could imagine in all areas of the store, but passing by an employee makes the experience even more worthwhile. They notice you, ask if you're finding what you need, and will educate you if you need some help. Their gun sales process is a snap. The ATF form is computerized which takes little to no time to complete and comes back usually in 20-minutes. They go through final safety and accessory information and escort you to the door with your firearm and transfer it to your capable hands once at the door. Try the fudge!!!!! OOOOHHH THE FUDGE!!!!! Great for the sheer size and breadth of coverage of all things sports. It's a LARGE building - two stories - larger than all or at least most Cabellas or Bass Pro Shops. If you want to check everything out here, it's going to take awhile. I didn't have a specific agenda with my most recent visit... just wandering around with a dear friend and checking things out. For the most part, we explored every nook and cranny... although I'll admit we walked through some areas faster than others based on level of interest. Neither of us were particularly interested in the professional sports (NFL, NBA, etc) areas of the stores, so we didn't spend a lot of time there. We WERE interested in kayaks - great selection in that area (better than comparable stores). We passed on waiting in line to get into the gun area, but browsed a bit in the archery section - again, very good selection! We were very happy to see that they carry 5.11 clothes and gear too. We made it out without anything in hand, but were tempted and will definitely be back. read more

An unheard of shopping experience ! A Ferris wheel inside a store? This place is massive. A shoppers paradise. I entered thinking this was a sports store but they have so much more. The toy selection was well stocked and had so many unique items. I easily spent an hour combing through all the features like a salt water aquarium. The gym weight selection was massive. I was walking from winter sports to softball and I passed a home decor section. I thought this was a sports store? My curiosity continued so wander led through the aisles. Not sure why but the ammunition aisle was the most crowded in the store? Well staffed and friendly. Ironically they didn't have softball cleats but I was a tad out of season. While I don't shop here very often, Sheels is one of my favorite stores in the area due to its uniqueness and selection. It's essentially a mall, but one store. Each department is somewhat sectioned off and they have everything from guns and hiking equipment to pet supplies and workout clothing. The other aspect of the store I like is that it's employee owned. All the employees share in the company's profits and thus, you tend to get pretty good customer service here. I've never had a bad encounter with one. While I wish it wouldn't be so pricey, you do get what you pay for in that they offer quality products and good service. read more

Since when does Scheels sell used guns My wife bought my son a Ruger 10-22 for his 18th birthday which was December 25th We went in December 24th she got a background check like usual But when she went in with my son to pick up his gun because she passed the background check I couldn't make it they sold her this gun But after looking at it There's scratches and gun power I'm like WTF she said that's why I wanted you to go with us They let us check it out before we left I'm like WHY THE HELL WOULD YOU NEED TO CHECK IT OUT ITS A BRAND NEW GUN!!!! Amazing selection of mens clothes but a very sad assortment of women's clothes - it was a bit odd because men's seemed to cater to an outdoorsman but women's clothes seemed to be athleisure and running errands type clothes (T-shirt's and light layer shirts.) Friendly staff but a bit light on personnel/coverage (it was hard to find anyone to ask questions.) Most items are "regular" MSRP so no screaming deals. read more

This was my first visit to Scheels and this place was amazing. They had it all and the prices were legit. The only prices that I did not like was the ammo pricing. I know they can't help it but still I didn't like the cost of simple .22 LR. I was just there checking out the prices and not there to purchase ammunition. That's my disclaimer.
