It gets worse. Can it?! Yup. . . UPDATE: I Tried to Let This Go. They Didn't. After my original review about being sold a "custom" set that turned out to be badly fitted with mismatched shafts, I honestly planned to move on--especially if the shop would just pick up the phone and try to make it right. I called. More than once. No call back. No email. Nothing. If they had contacted me, I would have gladly updated--or even removed--my original review and said they stood behind their work. Instead, here we are, and things got worse. When I went to sell the clubs, the buyer pointed out: Two 50° wedges in the set (one graphite shaft, one steel). Why? What I thought was a 45° wedge is the exact same loft as my pitching wedge. So yes--I was sold two pitching wedges as well. Add that to the already mismatched shafts and bad fitting, and this "custom set" is a mess. And still: no response from the shop after multiple attempts to reach them. --- Lessons? Also a bust. I sent my wife here for an 8-week lesson package. When we finally played together, I immediately noticed her grip was way off. I asked her about it--she said, "We never talked about grip. He just kept telling me to swing." Grip is Golf 101. After eight weeks? Come on. When we addressed it in person, the instructor finally said, "Let's take a look at your grip," like it was new information. My wife also told me he was flirtatious, pushy, and that on more than one session he smelled like liquor. She was uncomfortable. We stopped going. --- Bottom line: I gave them a chance. They didn't take it. This follow-up exists because they never tried to fix the problem. Between the botched club build, zero follow-through, and questionable instruction, I can't recommend this place for fittings or lessons. Buyer beware. read more

Went in to get the first new clubs I've bought in over 20 years. Never been fitted for clubs before. Brock was extremely patient and went through each and every club choice, explaining the options and analyzing my swing with each club. He advised me on how to keep the total cost down by taking advantage of special deals on clubs that were going to work in my game. Brock spent three hours taking me through this process. I ended up going with some custom Mizuno irons that felt so good when I hit them in the simulator! Can't wait to get the set so I can put then in the sharp new golf bag that Brock helped me pick out. Another associate Jake recommended that I speak to the pro at my local course and gave me his name. You can't beat the buying experience at this nice shop. I visited Golf NV for the first time on Labor Day weekend. I don't live in Reno and was on my way to see a friend who lived near the store. She just started golfing and I wanted to buy her a gift for her birthday. This store did not disappoint! Their selection of golf equipment was phenomenal! Being locally owned I have given them 5 too many chances hoping I just caught them on off days. Nope. Non existent customer service. Today in an effort to spend money I was simply looking to get my putter regripped. Had putter in hand when I walked in. 3 associates behind the desk and per usual no acknowledgement when I walk in. I rummage through the grip inventory (literally next to the desk where the 3 individuals are preoccupied opening new inventory) and they don't have what I'm looking for.. maybe they can special order it for me? Possibly, but that would take customer service from an employee.. On the way out after being ignored for 5-10 minutes finally the tall slender young lady asked if I needed anything. I said I was looking to get my putter regripped. I asked if that was all of the options they had she said "yeah that's all we have" that was it... and then gave me an awkward blank stare.. I guess she didn't want to make a sale? Just looking for some friendly help. Apparently it's too much to ask for from Golf NV on a Tuesday afternoon when you're the only customer in the store. Great new golf store in Reno! It's a big facility with a very nice selection of equipment and apparel, and it is very organized and looks great. They've got a bunch of hitting stalls where you can hit clubs into a screen and see various stats, such as RPMs, carry distance, etc. The staff is very knowledgeable about club design and customization, and they will help you pick the right head, shaft, and any other adjustments to make sure the club fits you perfectly! They also feature a nice putting green to try putters. Overall a great experience! I came with my dad to help him pick out some new hybrids and he was very satisfied with the selection and helpful staff. I'll definitely be back here next time I need some new golf stuff! read more

I'm a high scoring golfer mid 90s I went in there explaining my level of experience. I'm only a year into golf. I shoot in the high 90s. Can you help me find a good set of used clubs? The gentleman helping me brings me over to the club and doesn't really give me any guidance. He just keeps telling me how good of a deal it is because these brand new are 1500. .. etc.. Once I hit a few clubs off the simulator he just keeps pointing out wow look how straight you hit it keep in mind I'm hitting titles P 100 which is meant for 10 handicap not +20 I swinging a few different clubs and ask, do you think these are good for me hoping he would read my swing speed and spin speed and all the information given office simulator and guide me in the right direction He just keeps saying look how you hit. These are such a good deal. Pretty poor, especially for someone who's going there to looking for advice not knowing much about Golf and wanting to be pointed in the right direction To me, it just seemed like he was making the sale and being a regular employee not someone who's looking for the best for the customer Highly suggest going to golf Mart where they take care of you a little bit better even though it's not local you'll get a better experience. This store is absolutely amazing, hands-down, the best customer service and attention I've ever had with any type of store I've ever been to. I got my son a set of clubs this summer. He was treated like a VIP as they were setting up the right clubs for him, letting him test them on their simulators, asking all kinds of questions to make sure he got the right equipment. Never pressured him to buy any type of equipment other than suggestions from their experience. I then got a set of clubs last week and I got the same attention, If not better. they let you hit as much as you need to and hep you determine if the equipment is right for your skill level, goals and financial situation. They teach with experience so they can suggest what you might need, and suggest options that you might want to do if you're thinking about playing golf or getting better, especially if you don't know a ton about it. This is a THE place to go. Domico helped my son. Zeke helped me. Ryan helped both of us! Zeke fit a driver for my wife and she was treated so well as Zeke helped her to learn how to hit it. I mean this place is crazy, they really love golf and you can feel it! If you want to start golf or you're already into golf and you want special attention, golf envy on S. Normally have had great service here but went to try some irons and hit 3 different 7 irons. No measurements of arm length, height, lie angles, no changing of shafts or heads. Straight up floors irons used. When I didn't buy floor set he charged me $50. No mention of this beforehand. Never had this before when I've tried clubs. Really great shopping experience with Jake at Golf NV. I've been looking around for new clubs and saw Golf NV while at a conference. Jake was great, spent a lot time with me, let me swing a lot of clubs. Ended up with a set of irons and two fairway woods at a great price. Most importantly, it was one of the few times, as a female golfer, I didn't get one condescending vibe nor did I get women's clubs pushed. They have four simulators that you can "play" a variety of courses or work on your game using a variety of distances from 350 to 50 yards. The staff is more than friendly and it is a relaxed and friendly atmosphere. read more
