It's been a few years since I stopped in at what is now just called Sierra. The registers are now…read morein front, rather than the side, but the "Grocery Outlet" vibe remains. The store is large and bright, with clearly marked aisles and a lot of merchandise offered. If I were smarter, I'd stop here before REI or Patagonia. I picked at the edges and came out with an extra ice scraper, small snow shovel, and a pair of exercise hand grips. Who knows what I'll find the next time?

Whenever I'm in town from the Bay Area, I love visiting Sierra Trading Post, as I am already a fan…read moreof the TJ Maxx/Marshalls/Home Goods family of brands. I really wish they would open a Sierra branch in my 'hood in Northern California! Sierra is like the "sporty" arm of the TJX family of stores. You can get camping gear, clothing/shoes for men, women and kids, home goods, toys, snacks, pet supplies, and so much more. It's like a treasure hunt every time! There's also clearly marked red tag clearance items in each department. On my recent visit on a Saturday morning, I found good name brands in clothing and shoes, such as Columbia, Eddie Bauer, Levi's, LL Bean, and Crocs. All at discounted-from-retail prices! The store was recently remodeled and everything was neat and tidy. The cashier was pleasant and the line moved at a reasonable pace. There weren't a lot of workers roaming the floors to ask questions, but then again, this isn't a typical department store, so don't expect Nordstrom service! Highly recommend checking Sierra out to see what bargains you can find!

We were regular customers of their employee store in Richmond, CA. That location is for employees and invited guests only. We fall under the invited guests category. I am not a fan anymore of their Columbia brand (nothing wrong with it, I just prefer other brands). But I do like their Hard Wear brand, which we own a few items in. My wife also buys both their Sorel and Prana brands. Atmosphere - Good size location. Well only 50% stocked now. Plenty of mall parking. Service - Great, but feeling sad for their employees. Price - Approximately $200 after all the discounts. My wife says she got a great deal. Happy wife = happy life. Owner Comment - Congrats on your success since 1938; thank you for inviting others to join your employee store. I appreciate the additional discounts.

Shouldn't send one who has an obsession with jackets... Staff was friendly, store was well stocked . I already created an online account to get points.. Unfortunately, I found what I needed and more-... probably my Xmas present too.! Let's just say I got 2 $25 cards for spending..$$$ Thank you for picking Summitt for the location!

They even gave us free game on a sweet little hill that you can park on the road, hop out and shred the gnar for free. My Son hated the board he got so we went back and they swapped the board and gave him bindings that were easier for him to manage with no fuss, Tyler (i think) was hella helpful. Really knows his craft and understood what we needed to know not being novice shredders! We originally went to get new bindings for this ancient snowboard that was too of the line 20yrs ago lol but not the easiest thing to learn on so he suggested the perfect board for my 10yr old and thankfully he did cause he was able to get on the slope and figure out the mechanics from the first ride. I remember my first time and having a board that wasn't really flat, probably a few inches too long and bindings not pitched correctly really made it frustrating and hard to catch the feeling. Went to a few other spots before here and they were pretty unhelpful outside of trying to sell us gear.

He was passive-aggressive and seemed to dislike tourists, showing contempt for them. We tried to be polite and understanding, thinking maybe something was wrong with him, but it didn't matter. He continued to be rude and arrogant to everyone who came into the store. I can't recommend this store based on his behavior. He was equally indifferent to anyone who tried to speak to him. Considering the wonderful experiences we had during our visit with friendly, helpful, and professional people, this store was a complete disappointment.
