I'll cut to the chase, who doesn't love shopping here? It's a massive mall with insane variety and even lots of activities to do here! Pretty much anything you'd want to buy is here and in bulk! There's rarely ever a time that I come here and there isn't something I'm looking for! The store is massive and yet it's still easy to navigate around! Not only that but there's always something to take in visually, whether it's the massive Ferris wheel, of which you can ride on! The massive animal structure of stuffed animals, or any other number of locations inside the store! This store also has some really friendly staff who always answer any question I have! There's always an employee in every location so it's never hard to get any question answered! Overall it's a great store to shop at and quite the experience for anyone to enjoy! This Scheels location can be found in the Legends Mall with plenty of parking. This my first time visiting Scheels and would describe this amazing store similar to Bass Pro Shop, Cabela's and Sports Basement. And like those stores, leashed dogs are welcomed to shop with you. My husband, our little girl and I made a visit to Scheels back in September of last year. We forgot to pack our life jackets with us when we made our road trip out from California and it is required to have life jackets when kayaking in Nevada (also it's good to be safe when you are kayaking too). Previously, we had visited Big 5 before coming here looking for life jackets but I didn't find any that were in my size in the styles that I liked so my husband was hoping Scheels would have some. Scheels definitely had a lot in stock, in additional to a clearance section. But I didn't find any in this section that I liked but ended up finding a brand I liked (and paid full price... over $100...). My husband also preferred the life jackets in the section that was sold at full price too. But luckily we were told of the promotion that if you open a store credit card, you can get $50 off your purchase, so that helped us to save a little bit of money (also my husband was able to pick a free gift for being approved for the store credit card. He ended up picking a hat). The employees who helped us were very friendly and also very helpful. I greatly appreciated that while we browsed the entire store, employees just asked if we need help finding anything. Sometimes I don't like when employees ignoring customers (although there are times where I don't need help and am a frequent shopper of the store and so I don't need assistance) and think it is just nice to ask customers just in case. Anyways, while we browsed the entire store, I really loved seeing the statues of previous presidents and reading the informational plaques about them. I also love that there is a this giant ferris wheel in the middle of the store (surprisingly a ticket to ride the wheel is less than $5). I also love some of the photo ops they have around the store (check out my photo of one of the fun ones you could take photos with). We had such a wonderful experience shopping here. Honestly, if we lived closer, I would be a frequent customer here. read more

This was our first visit. First, all of the people working there were so nice. Service was great. We didn't realize they had the large selection of clothes and outdoor accessories for outdoor activities. The mountain with the animals was very cool. We ate at the cafe that will be closed for remodeling soon. Our food was excellent at a reasonable price. Dogs - we had our daughters Great Dane. She was a hit and dogs are welcome. Since I am former military, I liken Scheels to a well-trained military unit. The staff's attention to detail when it comes to product on the shelves, or its customer engagement is unmatched by any other sporting goods store in the area. The quality of sports apparel and equipment is the best you will find in the Reno-Taho area; however, it comes at steep price. Just took the concealed carry class at Scheels in Sparks. It was a great class and the ten hours flew by. They even provided lunch, coffee and drinks. It was interesting and informative and the class instructors were excellent. This is the place if you want to learn the gun laws and how to use your gun. I also came in three to look at guns to buy. I did not like the huge thick grating that covers the glass cases that hold the guns. I felt that was just a little to much and not helping a browsing customer. The first time in I just left because I felt I could not see the guns properly and they were too busy to get a person to help. The second time I got a young guy that showed me 3 guns but other than that he was little help. I could tell he was more interested to be someplace else. The third time on class day I just looked at what was in the cases the best I could. It is not easy finding a handgun for a lefty. Nice store and lots to browse. I think this spot has everything you might need in sports. I do love the fun things for the kids. My son brings the kids in often and the just bought 3 Stanley Drink Cups. Wow! You haven't been to a sporting goods store until you've been to Scheels! Multi level interior with a Ferris wheel inside! Large fish tank arches that you can walk under too! Absolutely something for everyone! Every sport and activity is represented here. Prices are moderate. Selections are amazing! Displays are neatly maintained. Staff is efficient and friendly. They have life size presidents on display. I believe that one still "talks". So much to see. You really have to spend a bit of time here to see it all. I stop by every time I travel to this area. Brand new to The Reno area and we stumbled upon Scheels our first week here. I must say, our lives are forever changed. How does one describe scheels?! Scheels is an adventure store! We have been here so many times this past month, which is a little crazy but I digress. Each inch of this store is filled with shoes, equipment, clothes, food, furniture, Ferris wheel, gun, camo, Toys, camping, water sports....the list goes on!! You can spend hours in this store and still not see everything. Did I mention that they have fun activities in certain parts of the store? Bowling, archery, fun shooting gallery, golf simulator. So cool! Each time we have been to Scheels we have found more treasures or items that we need or want. The gun collection is by far the best I have seen in a store in my life. The people working in that department not only love to talk about guns but they are insanely knowledgeable. Highly impressed with the employees in this store. This place is huge! It's so big that there's a Ferris wheel inside the store! This place feels like a mini mall with different specialty department stores. They have a large variety of selections. Each department is as big as a regular size store in the mall if not bigger. Even weekdays, numerous staff standing around, readily available to provide guest assistance. A must see! A two-level building it's everything you need for indoor and outdoor sports and travel like clothing, luggage, sunscreen, snacks, water bottles, etc. There's a huge carousel inside! Fish tank as you walk in. Stuffed animal displays in the hunting area. Video arcade section. Batting cage. Presidential history! Lots to see! My 11 year old twins really enjoyed it. this place is such a whimsical gem of sparks/reno. not only is it a great spot to buy sporting and outdoor gear, but it's also just a fun spot to visit. my wife and i went on our first date here -- we had bonded over our mutual love for the presidents and animatronics. we were recently very sad to see that many of them had been removed. the ferris wheel is worth the ride. the staff has always been friendly. but i hope to see mr. lincoln return someday. read more

I got there and it wasn't ready. I was told they were sending someone up to get it. It never happened. I finally cancelled it and went upstairs and got it myself. I was told they were really busy. A Five Star fish feeding and tank cleaning experience with Tammy St Hubbins, the mermaid...at Scheels salt water tanks today. Wow!!! It was magical and incredible watching the fish swimming around a person. A Pretty amazing and brave job to feed the fish and clean the tanks. The fish loved the food and the eels loved the shrimps you gave them. I couldn't stop watching. I think it takes a mermaid! Wow wow wow!!! So many people stopped to watch. Great job Tammy...
