If I could give 0 stars I would. I've never had a worse pad Thai in my life. It tasted like fish and it was horrible. Do not go here and if you do then do not order the pad Thai. I've been coming here a lot since this place opened and with good reason. Everyone is extremely nice and treats me with respect, especially the owner. The food here is amazing as well. My sister and I were looking forward to this restaurant but were very disappointed with the food. We ordered spring rolls, which were burnt. We sent them back for a new set, which were not burnt this time but ice cold inside. The stir-fried chicken with cashews was also fried to a crisp, very dry and unrecognizable as chicken. Restaurant is very nicely decorated. Hostess was very nice and accommodating when we asked to have our table changed since the one we were originally seated at was too close to the door. Disaster. I am 74 years old and have NEVER complained about anything in a restaurant even though, like everyone, I experience bad service and things I don't like on rare occasions. This was an awful experience topped off by the rude owner. This is the second time in three weeks that I went there with my son and wife. The time before my curry was a bit over the top spicy hot (and I LIKE hot spicy). This time I kindly asked if it was possible to get it milder. No problem I was told. 20 minutes later my wife and son's food comes out and the waitress looks at me puzzled why I didn't have an order. I explained I did. A few minutes later the other waitress comes over and explained they had mistakenly not put it! Clearly their mistake. After my family had finished my food now arrives the owner comes over and blames me for ordering something they couldn't easily do and he is angry at me about it. I was never told this was problem and would have had no problem switching my order. Guess what....to add insult to injury it is simply the same super hot curry. They did nothing a guess because they were angry. No apology. Nothing. We simply left. There are a number of references to the "rude owner" in these reviews. We experienced him. Went there last night before a movie and I was delighted with this restaurant! Very classy look, and the food was absolutely delicious. I had the vegetable dumplings for an appetizer and they were perfectly done and very tasty. Main course was Spicy Thai Basil and it was fantastic! The next time I have it I will order the very spicy instead of the medium. I was a bit afraid the very spicy would be too much but now I'm sure it wouldn't be. Top that off with an excellent Thai beer, and it was a great experience. Very friendly staff and great service. I'll be back. read more

Food was ok. Just ordered a main course and it was good but not a lot of it. Decor was interesting. But the service was extremely awful. I truthfully think the waitress forgot to put in our order. She apologized several times, but so what. The place was not busy at all. I would hate to see it when it is busy. Food wasn't very good and won't be going back. For appetizers, ordered the coconut shrimp and the beef satay. Shrimp was average tasting and the size was disappointing. There were 5 small shrimp in an order. The beef satay was too tough to bite off the skewer and had to ask for a knife. The peanut sauce that came with the satay was good. For entrees, we ordered the shrimp pad thai and the beef Penang curry. The shrimp pad thai was so sweet I could barely eat it. I took the leftovers home but will not be eating it. The beef Penang curry was pretty good. In general, the prices are too expensive. I think they use MSG in the food. I was super thirsty after the meal. My lips got chapped and the skin started to flaking off from the dryness. This happens when I eat food with MSG. read more

Was very excited to try Sawasdee as I love Thai food. Waitress was very sweet but the food did not live up to 'Thai elevated' standards. Started with their version of hot and sour soup.. tasty but I don't care for raw mushrooms in soup would rather have the mushrooms seared a little before adding, Thai dumplings were good. For mains we had drunken noodles while they were tasty they were very dry needed some more sauce. BIG disappointment for me was the Shrimp Massaman curry .. it was served cold and the Shrimp were not cooked, sent it back and when I got a hot version it was tasty but I had to remove the Shrimp as they were just not good, obviously treated with sodium tripolyphosphate the texture was off and they just never seem like they are cooked through as there is so much preservative. read more

Totally awesome! From the decor to the service and the food. Extraordinary! We were there in a large party of 12 and got to see the chef and his team at their best. The ground spicy pork salad, thai dumplings, thai wings and spring rolls were incredible. The whole red snapper was both delicious and impressive looking. The braised short ribs Massaman was incredible. All the different curries smelt incredible coming from kitchen to table. And the remarkable glass elephants and pictures of Thailand gave the whole atmosphere an authentic feel. Definitely check this place out. read more

I would give a higher rating since the food is actually flavorful but I'm always disappointed with portion size vs. price. This is one of the few places nearby that has yellow curry but you end up with more liquid and onions than actual substance (potato or meat). The atmosphere is a 5 star for this new Plainview establishment. The service is both friendly and accommodating but the wait staff needs some polish and experience.. We had the fried pork spare ribs and spring roll appetizers that were very good. For dinner we tried the green curry with tofu and yellow curry with chicken. I know they just opened recently and I went for my first time this weekend and we thought the food was AMAZING!!!!!! The staff was extremely nice and very friendly. It took a little while to get our food but after speaking with one of the staff members and learning about the chef it made me appreciate the food even more. The chef makes sure each dish is not served unless it is perfect. We can't wait to go back again and bring all our friends. We rather be at a restaurant where we have to wait a little more time for perfection than being served so fast and having to send our dinner back. Give it a try the food was delicious!!!! Excellent experience overall. The food is high quality and prepared perfectly. Many vegan options which is important to me. The use of spices made the food so flavorful and pop in your mouth. The ingredients were cheap, many seemed frozen and not fresh. In short, it tasted like Thai frozen food heated up in the supermarket. Don't be fooled by the lunch special. Tried this for the first time today for lunch. They have lunch specials that start at $12 and I got a dumpling, tom yum soup, and chicken pad Thai as a take out. The food was hot and delicious and it took less than 15 minutes for it to be prepared. It leaves you very satisfied and is worth the money. read more
