Ordered volcano fish and spicy basil leaf for take out. Volcano fish was good though I would have liked more sauce with the take out. The sauce is given separately so the fried fish doesn't loose its crisp. But the sauce wasn't enough when I added it to the dish. Rice on the side was adequate. I ordered a pad Thai and some sushi from them. Unfortunately, after we picked up our order, we realized that they did not include the pad Thai. Even though we paid the price of sushi AND pad Thai. The best Thai restaurant in Miami. The Shumai (Thai style) is outstanding. We had the best Spider sushi roll ever. The green salad was large enough to share and had the best ginger dressing ever. Sawaddee is by far one of the BEST Thai restaurants in the Miami Beach area. The local cosy environment is super chill and has unbeatable prices. The food is amazing and he service too. I've NEVER had a bad experience. Best dish is their Pad Thai hands down and you can't go wrong with their curry!! They don't have a liquor license so you can bring your own drinks, only $3 for an ice bucket. They also have great lunch specials. My poor husband spent the entire day throwing up after having dinner here the night before. I'm willing to pay a high-end price for good Thai food but for the quality they serve here, it's way too pricey. And the food was below any good standard. If they only had a bar so you can get wasted and forget how bad it was. We came here after reading some nice reviews. The ambience is no nicer than Chinese food take-out. First and foremost Im giving it 2 stars only because the ambiance is pretty inside.... but other than that nasiest blandest sushi Ive ever had. On top of that one of the sushi rolls my friend ordered(dynamite) came out we BOTH tried it and it looked ugly and tasted like card board. Im a server at a restaurant and I would never usually do this but the sushi was so bad we tried to tell the waitress to take it off because it was unedible. She told us the manager only would offer us another roll so we asked if we could speak with her and she had offered the same but we explained it was so bland we just couldn't eat . The people that work here seem eager to please but that's probably the only great thing about this place. The rolls here are so small, which is why I'm knocking off a star. I wouldn't mind paying for more if they were filling and bigger. Luckily I ordered a few rolls so I didn't leave starving. I also had the Tom Kah and omg, it was soooooo good. a must try for anyone wanting a small appetizer before they eat. The space is comfortable and clean... I have been going to Sawaddee off-and-on since I moved to Miami Beach back in late 2017. I now go there every Friday for lunch. I thoroughly enjoy the food, especially the lunch special "Thai Basil with Chicken," and the "Cashew Nut Chicken." I ask for my food to be extra, EXTRA Thai hot/spicy, and that is exactly how I get it - just the way I like it. I like their lunch special because you get a nice little portion of chicken soup with vegetables and a spring roll. The lunch portion as a meal is just enough to feel full; not too much and not too little. I especially like the friendliness and efficiency of the staff. The prices are good. There is ample parking in the lot just South of the restaurant. If you haven't tried this place, I highly recommend it. It's my favorite. read more

The Tom Yum Kong rightly bore its middle name and was a wonder -- spicy-just-right, full of fresh vegetables, with fleshy shrimp and just the right amount of garlic. I continued with a good fried soft-shell crab, crunchy and pleasant. The Pad See Ew was my main dish and was excellent -- perfectly noodles, a well-balanced and not over-salty sauce, fresh veggies, and textured cuts of beef. I loved there pad thai, their rolls are yummy, but I stopped going after one day I came and all their meat tasted so bad I couldn't eat it. At first I thought their meats weren't cooked right. I asked for them to change it and cook everything well but the second time the food came it was the same their meat were definitely rotten. Sawaddee has THEE best Thai papaya salad in all of miami. I've been to many places and have been disappointed many times but never once have I been disappointed with sawaddee's papaya salad. I will say that the papaya salad is a little pricey for the quantity you get but the quality makes up for it every time. PS the Panang curry is a must try for any Thai food lover. My only request for this establishment is to add sticky rice to the menu! read more

The restaurant was very cold. I ordered an eel roll and my mom ordered pad thai noodles with veggies and chicken. She loved the chicken soup that came with it and I had the spring roll that was so crisp and delicious. What sucked was that the taste of the roll was 6 out of 10 AND after my mom received her noodles my sushi came 40 minutes after!!! when I got up to ask where it was, it was sitting on top of the stand for god knows how long! So i asked the chef if it was mine and he was like "oh...yeah". I was in a rush and had to eat it fast. A part from the long wait, the staff was pretty nice and polite and patient with all of my questions. But they need to step up on delivering! I called in the order at around 4pm and it was promised by 6:15pm. 6:16pm came and went, finally I phoned GrubHub and was told it would be delivered around 7pm. It arrived at 7:20pm. It was completely cold. I ate the dumplings cold, and tried to heat up the pad thai. One item was a salad, so that was OK. The food was below average. But to take 3 hours to deliver a simple meal, and they are just down the road from me, is ridiculous. Also, they must have known it would be cold. GrubHub gave me 5% off my next order, nice gesture, but didn't help me yesterday. No more Sawaddee for me. Very unprofessional. read more

We were 4 people and still they added 18% gratuity on our bill with no information to us and guest check still had a Tip option open with a Tip guide , 15% = 10.19 $, 18% = 12.22 $, 20% = 13.58 $. TIP: Don't order for delivery-will charge you quite a bit. Kind of pricey for Thai food but I think it's because there isn't a lot of Thai restaurants around this area. I ordered for pickup (got charged quite a lot for it too) and it took about thirty minutes for the food. I got the spicy fried rice and it was decent.
