6 of us had family style chicken there today. Service was OK, food was fair. We were charged for 8 coffees and only 4 of us had coffee; total coffee cost; $16.00, we asked for water and instead of getting a glass of water for free, they gave us bottled water and charged $2.25 per bottle. Go figure, we were never asked if we wanted bottle water, I assumed something was wrong with the tap water. A sneaky way to padding the bill. For dessert, we had one apple pie, two pecan pies, and one pumpkin pie. They charged us for 5 pies instead of 4 @ 5.95 a piece. They then proceeded to automatically add a 20% tip. The food is pretty mediocre and the service leaves a lot to be desired. I've been here several times but most recently, we waited almost 15 minutes to get our drinks which were just soda and water. The food itself did come quickly once she took our order and it was decent. The food is really inexpensive. It was $20 for a cheeseburger with fries, a soda, chicken Parm, a salad, and dessert. This is not someplace I'd recommend to people (except maybe my grandparents; they might like it) and it's certainly not someplace go on a date but you do get quite a bit of decent food for almost as cheap as McDonalds or Subway. read more

Disgusted!!! I have seen cockroaches everywhere! that is just the tip of the iceberg here lately. I was waiting to be sat and saw three crawling by the hostess stand. Went to salad bar and there were some again. The most resent time I came in the waitress brought me over a to go and I opened it and there were in their crawling around.Absolutely shocked! I have dined here many times since the renovations and in the beginning it was great. Staff and management was always on point. Food is always excellent and still is. But the last handful of times we have come it's gone so down hill. Roger and his wife are now more present than ever and extremely rude and unprofessional. Roger goes around bitching at the staff and management in front of all customers and his wife talks to guest extremely rude. It's sad because the staff and management is great and the food is always amazing it's the owners who just seem to given up and not care anymore. Was there for Sunday Brunch last Sunday....great price for $12.95! But at such a low price my expectations were low, and they didn't disappoint. Don't get me wrong as I'm sure many enjoy the buffet. But I have been in Hospitality all my life. Dessert bar was mediocre, best to scuttle and put in a 3-4 foot chocolate fountain with lots of bruits and berries, cake cubes, dried fruit, etc. Many hot food pans were overfilled which means they sit there for a long time. A "baked" ziti pasta dish with chicken which kept getting drier, tougher and rubbery. Just make a nice pasta, thin out with a good chicken stock so it stays palatable and moist. Potatoes too blond, not fried and no flavor. No nice veggies on the buffet? No bread/bagel presence with toaster, no Asian dish, a protein should be added, etc, etc.More attention to flavor and handling. If I was them I would improve their offerings, change price to $14.95 and knock it out of the park! Find more ways to up the average check, to make the buffet even better and profitable, (hand out 10% off coupons for their ala carte restaurant on key nights that need help) smoked salmon, home made Gravlox, smoked Mackerel, etc. Service was very good and attentive. I recently attended a large birthday celebration which was held in the hall. The food was family style chicken, pasta, French fries and salad. I enjoyed all of the dishes. The services was good and the hall was comfortable. The dance floor is huge, we had a great time dancing the night away. I had a great experience here for a large gathering. read more

Attended the Ocean State Follies last night. Good show ruined by poor food and service. Soup too salty and vegetables in soup still raw. While most tables had soup bowls we and others around us had square dessert dishes. Pasta was next course and was nothing special. Tables around us were given dinner plates for pasta but we were not. When I inquired we were told to use bread plate. Next was entree which was suppose to be chicken family style. Received plate with 1\2 chicken, fries and roasted potatoes. Inquired about salad which according to their menu is included but was told "no salad". So 3 portions of carbs and no vegetables. Requested refill on pasta and rolls and never received. Not one waitress came to table to check if anything else was needed once entree delivered. Very poor service and no management skills by person in charge. NEVER TO RETURN AGAIN. read more

It was a rainy day and my bf had to convince me to get dressed and leave the house. Some how he got me up and out, said there was a spot he wanted to show me. We recently moved to the area and I am so lost and everything is new, he already knows his way around this place so being to new kid on the block I just go along with what he suggests. This place was awesome. Cozy and homey are the words that come to mind. We sat at a smaller bar up a few steps behind a wall of self serve soup and bread. Both delicious! The bartender was Donna and she made us feel welcome right away. I said I had never been there before and she made some food suggestions. We had these ridiculously good raviolis with a hazelnut sauce which I didn't know was even a thing. So good, they should double the portion size but that's because I'm being greedy now. Called Savini's Pomodoro, ordered takeout, was told 20 minutes. Got there, waited an additional 15 minutes for the food, an order of shrimp scampi that you could saute in 5 min. The scampi cost $17 dollars!? And the salad was an additional $2. Quite a deal on the salad. Got it home, was greeted with a moderate portion of linguine and six shrimp. The first thing I noticed was the lack of any kind of fragrance to the food. Tried it, and got a mouthful of mushy overcooked pasta, which tasted like... lemon. That's it, it did not taste like garlic at all, although there were slices of garlic in it. It was like somebody took some pasta and shrimp and squeezed a lemon over it. It was so completely and utterly tasteless. For $17?? These people have a lot of gall to charge premium prices for tasteless, lousy food. I could be on my death bed, and be blindfolded, and still make pasta 10,000 times better than that. I'm still rather stunned by the whole thing, actually. Any self respecting semi-competent chef would never have served that bowl of crap. Guess they should have included a new chef with the renovations. We went in March 2018 - party of 4. My husband and I both ordered the Family Style Chicken. It was horrible. Absolutely horrible. Haha, I do not know how anyone can screw up Family Style Chicken - but they did. The potatoes were OLD and STALE - left over from St. Patrick's Day most likely. The pieces of chicken that I got were RUBBERY and disgusting. The pasta sauce had NO FLAVOR what so ever. Thank god for salt. And the soup - sodium ball. A tasteless sodium ball. How was the service? What service??? The ladies room is small, there are only 2 toilets . . . and one was clogged. It was a rude experience and I left hungry. The bill was over $100 and I left hungry. I am very disappointed and upset at Ms. Savini, and her cagey business standards. Recently, my family hosted a dinner there after my mother's funeral. We chose Savini's for their reputation for traditional family-style chicken and its easy access from the funeral (which was in the middle of a blizzard.) Upon arriving, we were asked if we wanted soda served. Without being told it was extra, we agreed and found pitchers of $6.95 soda on the tables. Then we were asked if we would like soup served, since "it was a good day for nice hot soup". The idea was comforting and so I agreed. Again, no mention of an extra charge so I assumed it was included (yes, I know the aphorism about the arse and you and me). What's worse is the chicken was dry and over cooked. The soup was so salty it must have elevated the lowest of blood pressures there! They had only one other funeral party so they weren't overly busy - no need for dry chicken and heavy handed salt shakers. When I received the bill it was almost THREE TIMES what we had expected at $9.95 per person for 33 adults and 2 children. Coffee, hot chocolate, soda, soup, and dessert are NOT included. Agreeable, tips for that size crowd are usually 20%, and worth it. However, the rest of it was price gouging. I understand she's done this before - taking advantage of grieving families who aren't paying attention and who are glad to have "someone" there who they can trust and take control. And M knows exactly how to do that, without of course mentioning the word "extra". Rhode Island is loaded with good italian restaurants, Marchetti's being one of the best, and even though many will go to Savini's for their family style chicken, it's no better than the Village Haven or Wright's Chicken Farm. I tried their broiled seafood platter and other than the baked haddock the rest was awful. The scallops were bay scallops and terribly over cooked. The baked stuffed shrimp were puny and dominated by the stuffing. The veggies were straight out of the can. My girlfriend had the special which looked good but lacked punch. They did offer complimentary family style bread and soup. Soup was homemade and very good, but the bread was cold, pre-sliced and not worth the calories. Service was a bit slow and the decor is beyond outdated, except for the paper table clothes that get replaced in between meals. Another complaint, came once on a Tuesday b/c their website said they were open, but the sign on the door said Sorry Closed Mondays and Tuesdays. My suggestion, call first, as they also hold functions from time to time. read more

Food was good, a bit overseasoned. The issue was with the confusion amoungst the staff. We were told 15-30 minute wait time. An older couple walked in 30 minutes after us and were immediately seated (after refusing the 1st table the hostsess offered them, she gave them a different table of their choosing), we continued to wait. When I asked, she claimed they had a reservation. About 10 minutes later, a young lady who we had been watching load the salad bar for the last 40 minutes looked over at us with apology in her expression saying that she was going to have us seated in 2 minutes and she would get our drinks right away. That our waiter would be right over. Our waiter told us to help ourselves to the salad bar. I had to give my drink order, white sangria, 3 times. The glass that my water was in was cracked all the way around. There was a mandatory gratuity added to the check that was more than 20% of the bill after taxes with an option to add an additional tip to that. I have never heard of a mandatory gratuity for a party of 2, and certainly not a mandatory gratuity that is higher than the highest average standard. The food was okay at best, the swordfish special was overly seasoned (salty) and the red sauce is too sweet. The waiter really did his best to make a bad situation better, he was great. Been going to Savini's for 30 plus years, but this weekend will be the last. Love the new look, but the menu and food SUCK. They changed the menu, with new items the only thing that stayed, was the chicken. I purchased the stuffed fish, was cold when it arrived at my table, sent it back, came back hot but rubbery, GROSS!!!!! My husband had meatballs, tasted like bread, not enough meat, sauce was ok, not great. Should have stopped at the renovations, and stuck with the great food they had before. read more

Had lunch yesterday with three other women. Place was basically empty, usually not a good sign, but maybe Saturday lunch times isn't Savini's thing. Server was friendly and helpful. Salad and dressing were boring--greens reminded me of tired supermarket type and were chopped too finely; dressing had no flavor. Pan seared scallops were good, nicely cooked, as we're mashed potatoes, but green beans were overlooked and boring (almond slivers at the least would have taken it up a notch). Tried the bread pudding dessert-- I've had way better. This version wasn't tasty. Coffee was colored water. Not a memorable experience--Woonsocket has way better restaurants for the same pricing. read more

Had my daughter's baby shower here and it was a great choice. The brunch was delicious and reasonably priced; we were given 1/2 the restaurant to use for 50 people and it was big enough with extra tables for the gifts, prizes, and cake. Our waitresses were attentive and helpful. We were asked if we wanted to include bar drinks (other than the glass of orange juice and carafes of coffee which were included in the price) in the bill ahead of time. Pitchers of iced water were on the tables. We were allowed to decorate much earlier than the 10am shower start time. The atmosphere was pleasant and the restaurant nicely decorated. All in all it was an effortless shower and went very smoothly. Only request from the owner was "no confetti" when decorating. This was not a problem and totally understandable. Speaking of Landmark our whole family ended up in Landmark......hospital that is with food poisioning`!!!when i approached the owner he said f*** off.????? NIce maybe time to sell and overhaul the dump with a real chef. NOTE: As a teenager i worked in the kitchen there and saw inedible food wedged in platters of banquet food!!! How cheap can you get. On July 18, 2013 i had my wedding there and i had such a bad experience with the owner because there was a miscommunication. The room wasnt set up properly the table for the seating cards was located where no one could see it. My daughter who was my maid of honor had to serve the wine and coffee because the owner refused to go around asking who wanted beverages. The plates that they put on the table was dirty. Some of the glasses were broken and some of the silverware was dirty. They didnt even have a special table for our unity candles. People were complaining it was very hot in the hall. When it was time for the cake to be served hardly noone recieved any. I seen to trays of cut up cake next to the kitchen and was wondering why. Th e next day some of my family and friends were complaining about how bad the service was. I will never recommend that place to no one. If I could give minus stars I would! I was charged $12.95 per person for a breakfast advertised on their sign outside for $9.95 per person! No one told us anything until we got the bill at the end of the meal. We were told that the price went up yesterday and it was advertised in the Woonsocket Call. I am not from Woonsocket and I do not get that newspaper. They did not offer us the $9.95 price so that is fraud. I work too hard for my money to get ripped off like that. I even took a picture of their signage but I can't post it here unfortunately. By the way, this breakfast/brunch consisted of breakfast potatoes (cold), bacon & sausage (over cooked), scrambled eggs (also cold), French toast (empty), pasta with bacon (didn't eat), and bread pudding (also didn't eat). On another table was cold hard biscuits and baked beans and yet another table had jellos, brownies, 3 different kinds of fudge, and a very small (and empty) tray of cantaloupe and honey dew scraps. Went to Savini's with my Family on Fathers Day. Service was poor, and food was mediocre. I had the seafood medley which was on special that day. Overpowering garlic. I had a third of my entre'. About 3 hours after getting home, I was severly ill and spent hours being sick. As I had eaten nothing else except toast for breakfast that day, I knew what had caused the illness. I called the restaurant and it took 3 days for the owner to call me back about the incident. I wasn't asking for anything, just wanted him to know he had a problem with his seafood. upon speaking to the owner I was told he didn't believe I was sick as no one else who had the dish had called him, and he asked with much sarcasm "what do you want me to do about it?" At that point I was aware that the owners of Savini's have no concern at all for customer service . If you have concerns about the quality of the food your eating, be advised, pick another restaurant. read more
