Stopped here before I went to the DMV and as soon as I walk in, the waitress Tammy took care of me. Immediately offered me coffee, called me every term of endearment in the book. She made me feel like I was in someone's home. The food was delicious, Tammy wouldn't stop talking about how they had the best pancakes. And they were delicious pancakes. The portion was so big I couldn't finish it all. 10/10 recommend to anybody.

Update: No longer open 24-hours. Seems to hold the same homey-family run vibe, with super friendly waitresses, and quite the sizable menu.

Love the old school diner vibe! Our server was pleasant, efficient, and gave good recommendations. She suggested the cream of turkey soup and it was excellent. Large portions of Spinach pie, Greek salad, and chicken Slovakia tasted homemade. Breakfast is served all-day, and the lunch menu is extensive. Definitely worth the drive to RI. Can't wait to return with family and friends.

Ordered some takeout for Super Bowl game festivities w my wife. Two burgers w fries and slaw - very good, but beef needed some seasoning. Had spicy buffalo wings which was like 10 segments and were breaded w buffalo sauce and some blue cheese. Good but not crispy. Potato skins were good and wife loved the onion rings. Order ready in like 15-20 min which was a surprise. Easy meal, no long line and order was perfect.

Wow! I can't believe I slept on this place. First off, the service was the most friendly I've seen in a long time, if ever. The server was so sweet, with such a positive attitude. She really tried to get to know us and was excited that we were trying this place for the first time. Now, let me tell you about their special breakfast sandwich that's served on French toast. I think I died and went to heaven! I really love French toast, and I can say that they do it really well. The vibe in here is super casual and comfortable. Old school diner all the way, with adorable little old ler couples coming in and families enjoying delicious food. I look forward to bringing my kids on the next visit!

The first order of sweet potato fries little overcooked for me

It wasn't busy at all. We went in there for a late lunch. We were doing a sandwich, passport for Rhode Island food fights. I don't remember the name of the sandwich that they're offering this time, but it was a turkey breast sandwich, nice sliced turkey with lettuce, tomato cheddar cheese and honey mustard dressing. I thought that it was a cold sandwich, but it ended up being more of a hot sandwich because they grilled it so we kind of heated everything up, which didn't really do well for the tomato and lettuce, but I just took it off. It was OK.. So we got that my husband I split it with a side of sweet potato fries inside of steak fries. They were both good except the sweet potato fries ended up being overcooked so because I have braces, it was painful for me to eat them, but they had regular steak fries so white the steak a few of the steak fries which weren't too greasy and nothing. She did end up going back and making me another order of sweet potato fries, but and they were much better than the first one like they were definitely much better than the first one, but they weren't as big as the first order so that was kind of like a letdown, but that's OK next time. The server I don't remember her name, but she was super nice and friendly. She had talked about how she worked other places and stuff before, and she was there now, and she really liked it. How different things about that I like the fact that the time of the day went in that there was only like five of us total in the whole restaurant which I like that because I hate when it's super busy and I feel like I'm not them being rushed, but I feel like I wanna hurry up and get out with other people can sit down. But it was a great experience. I always go there with my friends and stuff and my family so I'm looking forward to going back there again soon in the future.

Wow! Finally a good ol fashioned diner right out of sitcoms of old. The staff is expressive and impressive. The cook is truly an artisan and the decor is vintage 1950's classic "greasy spoon". So much value from classic comfort food. It doesn't matter if you belly up to the stools facing the cook or if you grab a 2-top table or booth you are quickly served. Really, I think it was 15 seconds after I parked my butt into my chair that I got an i e cool beer to get me started. I ordered the chicken parmigiana and substituted fries for pasta. The waitstaff didn't bat an eye and got me my dishes toot-sweet! My meal came with a healthy side salad and fresh homemade chicken soup (New England chowder was the other options this day). They give you a ton of food! So much so that you'll be begging for a "to-go" box well before you'll get down to digging in your goodies. To be fair and balanced, of the dishes served up I had some issues with the chicken parmigiana. Not that is was bad, because it was far from that. I wasn't the biggest fan of the marinara sauce. It was a little under seasoned. That's not a big deduction from their ledger. I get generalizing the taste to serve multiple pallets. I like more spice in my sauce. Other than that, everything was delicious. I strongly endorse this eatery and don't hesitate to sing its praises.

Hadn't been to this northern RI institution in a very long time. Visited for breakfast on a busy weekend morning and was seated immediately. The waitress was friendly and efficient, keeping the coffee mugs full the entire visit. The menu has lots of great sounding options, but I chose my breakfast standby: cheese, mushrooms and bacon. My loyal fans know that bacon is the only red meat in which I indulge - on occasion. Going out for breakfast is one such rare event. The meal was served with hash browns, which were very good - not overly seasoned or salted. The toast was perfectly done with just enough butter slathered on. The omelet itself was piping hot with a generous amount of cheese, mushrooms and crisp bacon inside as well as two strips on top. Nothing fancy, but if you love the nostalgia of an old time diner and a decent meal, The Patriots is an area staple. It's good to know they still serve a mean breakfast!

Today was our first (and not last) visit to The Hamilton Diner. We go there at 11:00am on a Tuesday…read more(day after Labor Day just to keep the metrics in place) and the parking lot was packed. We did, however, find one about 4/5 of the way into it. Entrance way is at the end of a ramp, which I would interpret as a fairly tight squeeze if I was in a wheelchair. However, there was a fellow in an electric wheelchair making his way down the ramp as we were coming up, and we all made it up (and down) easily enough with just a pause. Hostess desk is immediately in the entrance. Very personable lady said it'd be a 25-minute wait, and that was pretty accurate. I gave her my phone number and received a message to download Yelp! including a "Your place in line" feature. Benches to sit and wait - one outside and three inside. We were 4th in line, and then 2nd, and then 1st. I felt a vibration from the phone but saw no message. So I went to the desk to check, and they were ready anyhow with 4 empty tables. Seated us quickly and our waitress Ashley was there in short time. Paula (wifey) ordered some Egg Sandwich and a small order of French Toast. I ordered Southern Benedict, which was a buttermilk biscuits base, topped with a fried chicken patty, 2 poached eggs, and smothered in a creamy sausage gravy, and it came with an order of home fries. We were both very happy with the flavor and portions. In fact I was rather full and didn't eat the last 3 or 4 bites. I also had an iced coffee, which was nice and strong. The place is very much where neighbors and families meet and greet. Lot's of "Norm!!" moments. Pricing if fairly average -- it was (with a 20% tip) $45 for us two. My only complaint had nothing to do with the restaurant, but with adults who don't know how to tell a kid not to do shrill whistling in a restaurant. No more details on that. Again, not the restaurant's fault. We definitely would like to go there again, especially to order some bacon, as that, in my estimation, is a very important factor for breakfast -- I just didn't have any reason for it this time, what with the chicken and the sausage gravy.
