The bar surface. PENNIES!
Brenda M.

Just left Bacon n Beanz after having a delicious filling breakfast! The atmosphere: not quite a bar, not quite a diner... somewhere in between. Comfortable and not buzzy loud. We sat at the bar (which we usually do wherever we go). I was SO fascinated by the bar surface (it's the little things, ya know) it was COVERED end-to-end with PENNIES! I loved that- very different from anywhere else we've been. The service: TOP notch- our servers were very attentive... we never had to wait or ask for anything; coffee and waters filled right away and very pleasant demeanors; friendly and laid back (while being efficient getting things done). The food: I had a mushroom and cheese omelette (a 4 egg omelette- big and super delicious... FILLING) with wheat toast (the way I like it- a little on the dark side... just PERFECT) and potatoes (which I usually don't get but as a first timer I had to try them)... which were pretty much cut up potatoes with a little salt. Again, just how I like them! I'm giving them 5 stars because the few things that might bring my rating down ($8 for a very SMALL Mimosa, $4.25 for a muffin- I didn't get either) were such silly little details. They're a teenie bit off the beaten path (I came from Uxbridge) but I would 100% go back!

Meat lovers omelet - delishous I ate a 1/3 of my meal before taking this picture - it was a huge omelet

Another Saturday and another breakfast spot to seek out. I would like to start by saying I'm impressed. This restaurant has a breakfast bar that seats approximately 15+- people and approximately 5 booths for an additional 20 persons Not huge - But Big in the experience and food prepared while I stood waiting for a booth to open up (15 minutes ) I observed this well organized open kitchen. There were two people cooking and a dishwasher. The people cooking take pride and put out beautiful plates. The waitresses were always busy everyone worked together. Brittney was our server - after mentioning how wonderful their food is, for some reason a couple of pictures of our meals didn't come out to show you here My guest ordered the Big Boy scrambled eggs, two bacon, two sausage, two pancakes or French toast with warmed maple syrup homefries, and toast. They said their meal was good. I ordered the meat lovers omelette one of my go to. It was perfect very fluffy, one of the fluffiest omeletttes I've had. I prefer a fluffy omelette compared to an omelet made on a flat top grill My meal was great, in fact I couldn't even finish it. We also ordered a side of homemade hash which was good I recommend that you visit Bacon N Beanz and see and taste how good they are I definitely will be back Staff of Bacon N Beanz excellent job. I almost don't want to tell other people about you but you deserve it. Well done

What a great little breakfast place! Exactly what you would want to see from an old fashioned diner style restaurant. It felt quaint inside and very clean and organized. The staff is thoroughly welcoming and makes you feel happy to be there. The menu is diverse enough with a few adorable options like "Peppa Pig" and "Eeny" "Meeny" "Miny" and "Mo." The meals are good sized and we took some of ours home. We had "Big Boy" and "Veggie Lovers Omelette" (minus the onions). Great place to go for a good breakfast and for a touch of simpler times. There are lines out the door most weekend mornings, so get there early or during the week.

Absolutely fresh and delicious bacon, egg, spinach and tomato sandwich on Italian toast.

Yummy and crispy home fries and the BELT sandwich on Italian toast is the BEST. Friendly and attentive service. We will be back!

Go. It's great food. Order the scrambled eggs. Not to be confused with a "scramlet" served by most breakfast places.

Counter seating, booths and tables in typical diner style. We arrived between the breakfast and lunch rushes and were seated right away. Restaurant was about half full on arrival and mostly full when we departed. Waitress seemed a bit over worked poor thing. Food took a while to arrive and as we were talking it didn't much matter. Just fyi. Everyone's meal arrived as ordered and everyone enjoyed their food. I had eggs and pancakes and found the pancakes plenty sweet even without syrup. Eggs were cooked nicely, just as ordered. Prices are reasonable. Waitress kept an eye on us and brought what we needed. Restrooms are clean. Plenty of parking around the building. This time, not so much. Everything came out overcooked. The omelette and eggs were dry, and even the eggs ordered over easy had a strange, gelled texture instead of soft, runny yolks. The hollandaise sauce was broken with an odd orange color and smoky flavor, and the potatoes were mushy and unappetizing. Overall, the food quality was a big disappointment. The only reason this is getting two stars is because the service was genuinely great. Otherwise, I'd suggest finding another spot for breakfast, or hopefully ownership can bring in a cook who knows how to execute classic breakfast dishes properly.

Our waitress gave us some menus, and immediately, I was drawn to the plate with home fries, eggs, bacon, sausage, toast, and French toast (or pancakes). It was only about $11 and brings a little bit of everything. After about 10-15 minutes, our food was brought out. I was a bit underwhelmed by the French toast. It looked like regular toast, so I thought they maybe misunderstood that I wanted grilled English muffin for my bread. But turns out, their French toast does not have as much batter as l am used to. I do like that it is sprinkled with sugar and cinnamon, but it is a but dry - the syrup makes it better. I requested my eggs scrambled and with cheese and the cheese was perfectly melted. The bacon was crispy, with the right thickness. I had read that their sausages are good, and indeed they are - juicy, a tad spicy, and flavorful. The English muffin was crispy and buttery. The potatoes were soft and tasty. The back of the paper placemats have puzzles and activities, which we only realized before leaving. The inside made us feel like we were at someone's home, so it made us feel more comfortable.

When trying out a new restaurant, we have little to no expectations but we go with an empty stomach & open mind. I had to look up Manville in Google maps - it's half way between Cumberland & Woonsocket. The restaurant is an unassuming storefront on a mostly residential street. We walked in & were greeted warmly. The restaurant was hopping on a late Saturday morning, so we took the two open seats at the counter. Your Mother's Favorite is truly a family affair. Dad is in the kitchen with an uncle & a son, mom is running the front of house with another son & some other relatives. We learned that this restaurant is an offshoot of their Sunnyside on the Street food truck. They offered any 1/2 lb brisket/chuck blend burger on a brioche bun for the RI Food Fights coupons. Upon recommendation of the son who was serving us at the counter, I went with their best seller: The Mother In Law - caramelized onions, Gruyere cheese, house made sauce. It was SOOOO good! The burger was perfectly cooked with a ton of delicious caramelized onions & ooey gooey melted cheese holding it all together. Hubby opted for The Hot Mom - pepper jack cheese, red onion & house-made mango habanero sauce. He will order anything that will give his taste buds a kick... & this definitely kicked! For me, the sauce was too hot. For hubby, it was definitely HOT but he couldn't get enough! I've never seen a man eat a burger that fast! LOL Hubby was so excited about the mango habanero sauce that the dad/owner came out of the kitchen to discuss creating it. He also provided us with a small container to bring home to enjoy & shared the recipe. I was in the mood for something a little sweet & ordered one slice of the French toast. It was delicious. They also do a deep fried French toast which is something I will order the next time. We got into a nice conversation with the table next to the counter. The couple were fans of the family's original food truck & are repeat customers of Your Mother's Favorite. They were also fans of RI Food Fights - especially the January #LordOfTheWings. We concur! We ogled the other delicious breakfast dishes being delivered to customers. Hubby wants to try both the Huevos Rancheros & the Biscuits with Gravy. Their pancakes are supposed to be out of this world but I will be hard pressed not to order The Mother In Law again! Even though it was very busy, the family made time to chat with us & answer questions about the restaurant & menu. We loved everything about Your Mother's Favorite & can't wait for a return visit! The significant other had the tea and chilaquiles. I really enjoyed my benefit. The chipotle hollandaise was slightly spicy but not overwhelming. Eggs were poached well, the crab cake was tasty, and the home fries were nice and crispy. No real complaints there! The chilaquiles were smaller than I thought they'd be but the significant other said he liked them. So, why 4 stars? I've been here before and while it's good some dishes don't blow me away. It was Mom who pointed out the devil dog on the menu, which is a hot dog wrapped in bacon and cheese. I also ordered a side of onion rings, which was nothing short of delicious. Mom ordered the tuna melt, which she attacked like a human seagull. All that was left were a few made-inhouse-potato chips, which I insisted she try along with the tuna melt. Our waitress was friendly and greeted us with a smile, and she didn't make us feel rushed. I'm guessing that was the owner who asked us how our lunch was, and I gave him two thumbs up because it's rude to talk with your mouth full, right? Anyway, the people who work there don't make you feel like you gotta wolf down your lunch super quick to make room for the next people coming in. The restaurant itself might not be crazy huge, but that's part of the charm. The radio even had a cover of "In The Mood" by Glen Miller playing while I finished my lunch, which was a nice treat. I later waddled out of there like a stuffed penguin, because "stuffed" is an accurate description of how I felt after eating my lunch. You do have to pay cash, which is OK. They have an ATM by the door when you walk in. I don't know when I'll be back again, but I know I WILL be back. Five smiles all around.
