I was super excited to come here. They make one of my absolute favorite beers, the Bonfire Brown. So when I saw that this brewery was on our itinerary spots to stop at I was very happy! This was a great brewery. Very big and spacious.! We sat up at the bar but they had plexiglass hanging everywhere. Definitely were being cautious of covid. We enjoyed a couple of beers. Obviously, I had the Bonfire Brown. He ordered their IPA. They had a lot of merchandise for sale so we stopped and checked it out. We grabbed two tagabrews and had our hop passport stamped. Wife and I stopped for a quick beer before heading back to our rental property. There was no room to sit inside so we opted for the outside patio. Service was backed up so that quick beer took a little longer to receive than anticipated. The patio was a nice area, but with the sun it was just unbearable to sit outside. My travel thermometer registered over 110* on the table. Umbrellas were not allowed because of some sort of high winds (quite calm the entire time we were there). We moved to the barrel room that was not staffed, but it was much cooler and was a place I would opt for in the future. Beers were just alright. The cotton crusher is their attempt at a sour. However, after the initial sour blast it just falls off in sour and in flavor. read more

We went on a Saturday during the dinner rush and we were seated within 20 minutes. My husband and I shared the full order of chicken tenders and had the blueberry and cherry shandies. The food was great, perfectly seasoned and cooked tenders, moist and delicious. Our server was attentive and professional. The entertainment was a nice addition and added to the casual brew pub atmosphere. We will most certainly returned whenever we visit this side of the state. read more

This was our second stop on a multi brewery tour as we traveled up through northwest Michigan. My boyfriend loved the beers he tried here!! He's had the Blueberry Maple Stout and Neapolitan Milk Stout a few times and really likes those, but we can buy that closer to home. Saugatuck has so many more beers that seem to only be available in Michigan or at the brewery. I think his favorite was the Lux 13 and the Ghost of Neapolitan Milk Stout. I have a feeling when we travel through Michigan again, we will definitely stop here again to stock up on some newly discovered favorites! Oh, and the Saugatuck Antique Pavilion is right next door. Perfect for when the guys want to drink beer and us ladies want to go antiquing. It's a win-win situation! ;) read more

This is the kind of brewery that I love. Nothing too commercial, a great brewpub area, and things to do! The back room has darts, shuffle board, and bumper pool. This made for a great start to an epic bachelor party bar crawl. It was also my first time playing bumper pool and it was tons of fun. I have been a fan of Saugatuck Brewing for a while and visiting them in person makes me like them even more. Even though it's a short drive outside of downtown Saugatuck, it's worth the trip. read more

Stopped in with my kids after not being here in maybe 5 years. The beer is still good but.. They got rid of the pizza. Bring back the pizza! We came in specifically for the pizza as every trip to Michigan has included a stop to Saugatuck Brewing specifically for the pizza. Drinks: Blueberry maple stout, Neapolitan milk stout, blueberry lemonade shandy! Each drink was amazing worth coming here for. Food: Beer cheese and bacon burger, medium rare, wow, it was fantastic. This place is awesome, the staff are so nice and welcoming. It's got a very inviting atmosphere, and there was live music which was appreciated. They accommodated our large group with high chairs as well. This is the kind of restaurant that makes the city even better. We hope to be back! read more

Food was upscale pub food. I like they use the grains from the beer making to put into bread and pizza. The burger and chips were generous. Jared provided us excellent service, warm and friendly, not overbearing. I also love how the place is set up. You have the restaurant portion which would be good for groups and such and the back Barrel room with games, shuffleboard etc. The beer was very good as well. The Neapolitan was a really interesting beer. It really did have strawberry, vanilla and chocolate notes.. but my faves were the Oak Wizard, and the Saison. I thought $14 was a little expensive for a flight. For 6 tastes I'd feel better paying $12. But alas, it's local and they even have a delicious cider. So if I were in the area, I'd gladly give them more of my money. read more

Unfortunately, this place has gone downhill fast. The beer is seriously disappointing. There's not one beer that would ever be anyone's favorite because they are all average. Even if their beer in retail was 50% cheaper it would be hard to buy cause they just aren't really special. The food is just as underwhelming, overpriced for what you get, and lacking any real flavor. Service was fine, but it's clear management isn't keeping up with quality. Definitely not a place I'd go off the path to. If I was at the hotel across the street then I'd go, only. read more

Had the opportunity to check out their patio close to the July 4th weekend. Get there early! It fills up fast! Precautions in place with paperless menus and searing one at a time. Patio was pleasant- as was beer and lunch! Portions were good. I enjoyed steak salad, meat was cooked right. My friends had a burger and fish and chips. The report was the burger was good, the fish and chips were a bit salty for the taste of my friend- however he found the fish to be good even with a little less of the batter around it. read more

We were looking for someplace to have a late dinner on the Saturday of Memorial Day weekend. Saugatuck Brewing had a pub menu that I thought would please our party of various diets/preferences. We arrived around 8:30 and were seated within 10 min. The young, hostess staff wasn't the most efficient or welcoming, but they got us seated in a reasonable timeframe. They have a large, attractive patio with umbrella tables and planters. Being a brewery, they have an extensive list of beer and one cider available in servings of 5 oz and up. Two of us went with their cider which was crisp and refreshing. I ordered the primavera pub pie, two friends had the fish & chips, and our fourth had the soup of the day (Exotic Chicken - strange name). My pizza had a white sauce with veggies on a spent grain crust. I love the flavor of spent grain and this crust was pretty good. Only disappointment was that crust was a bit soggy in spots - might have been from the veggies. The rest of my dining companions didn't fair as well with their selections. The fish & chips guys said their filets were skimpy and over-breaded while the fries were room temperature. My friend who ordered the soup said it was edible, but there was nothing exotic or memorable about it. We all agreed that the restaurant itself was nice, but not all we'd hoped. read more

We went on a Tuesday at 5:00. Wasn't terribly busy. We seen 3 different waiters/ waitresses walk by, not even acknowledge us being there. Not even a Hi, I will be right with you. Great brewery with good food and great beer. Place was highly recommended by locals. We stopped in one evening for apps and drinks. My wife enjoyed a beer flight of mostly porters which maple blueberry was our favorite, it literally tasted like a blueberry pancake. I tried the closest thing to a light beer Pilsner they had which was also good. The food was amazing, we enjoyed the spicy cheese curds and Parmesan garlic fries! Service was fast and friendly we were seated almost right away. An enjoyable experience all around. There's also a pretty cool antique shop next door. We will be back for sure when visiting the area again. They even sell beer to go which we took advantage of since we can't get it back home. read more

We visited Saugatuck Brewing Co because we have historically found their beer to be a pretty solid choice. Unfortunately their restaurant menu was just so/so. To start we got the cauliflower app and cheese curds. Both apps were a bit pricy compared to what you get. The cauliflower app was tasty and maybe I'd recommend it as an option if money was not a concern. I was hoping for more of a fresh gastro type pub menu for the main meal, but it's really standard bar food. I'm always looking for healthy vegetarian options. Unfortunately besides a side salad or veggie burger they simply don't offer anything to appease my buds. My husband ordered the fish and chips while another in our party ordered the French dip. When the food arrived, it looked like someone removed a healthy handful of fries from my husband's plate ... he had maybe 15 fries while our friends seemed to have a full portion. You'd think the waitress would've noticed this when she set down the food, but nope, she stopped and ran. The fish and chips were standard but the French dip, while it tasted decent at the time, we think our friend got food poisoning from it. The beer garden is pleasant, beer is a tad above average but I'd show up full... food not worth the $$. read more

Very popular and the patio filled up immediately after opening. Note the soft pretzel is MASSIVE and the cheese curds are spicy and delicious! Why did we sit in the front room if we wanted to do a tasting? Because we did not know there was a super cool tasting room behind the dining room with awesome and knowledgeable bartenders that mix up super cool concoctions. The dining room was fine. We sat at the bar and did a sampling. The bartender was super busy. Most people were there to eat. There was a live band that played a good mix of popular upbeat music. The carryout shop was closed when we were done, so we went hunting for a place to pay for the beer we wanted to take with us. The bartender that had taken care of us was not available and we saw there was another room down the hall across from the restrooms. The other room was exactly what we came in for. Super chill, knowledgeable bartenders that could make recommendations and maybe even challenge our palates with Saugatuk beer. Bartenders that knew the release cycles, what was coming out and what was finishing up. Plus they made some really cool combination pours that really blew us away. read more

Saugatuck Brewery is right next to an amazing antique shop, so before dinner we walked around the store and built up hunger. When we got to Saugatuck Brewing, the waiti time was about 30 minutes so they let my family play in their event room which had arcade games and pool tables. At SB Co we my 5 year old ordered a kid's pepperoni pizza. She seemed to like it. My husband and I split the bacon and beer cheese burger. It was okay. For food, I give this place a 3/5. Stopped by here during a visit in November and had a pretty good time. The service was good and the atmosphere pretty nice. The beers I felt were just average for me, unfortunately. I tried the pumpkin chai, which was not up my alley at all, though the neopolitan milk stout was more my speed. The blueberry maple stout was worth a visit for, but I don't think I could have done much more than a taster of it. The five quarter porter was just okay, and the lucky stone cider was a bit of a disappointment relative to others in the area. Overall I don't know that I'd be back for the beers, but would come back when it's warmer and their patio is open to give them a try again. read more

I can buy the Saugatuck Blueberry Stout at my local northern Indiana grocers, so I knew this place makes great beer. I stopped by here mid-week after a hike in the nearby dunes and happened to walk in during Happy Hour, 3-5pm weekdays. Both of the beers I tried were excellent. I had a pint each of the Blood Orange Blonde and the Neapolitan Milk Stout along with my burger. I was hungry after the hike and both beer and burger filled me up well. My server hustled the entire time I sat at the counter, responding to all requests with an upbeat "Absolutely!" The place got busy by 5pm. The front dining room was quiet at first, then got loud, so I'm glad I left when I did. There is a back room for special events, a front outdoor patio (no dogs allowed), and a hallway full of awards on the wall. The brewery is right off the Blue Star highway south of town. read more

The service was super attentive and patient, we showed up first and were waiting on others, the others tend to be a bit high maintenance and she took it all with stride. Visiting from out of town and stopped in for a lunch date with my husband. Our waiter was very friendly, quick and laid back- fantastic. The wings were phenomenal. The dry rub tasted similar to Grippo chip bbq seasoning (it's a Cincinnati thing). The Buffalo sauce tasted like franks with a little butter also good. We also shared a smoked chicken wrap and it was great. The parm fries were good. Oh and the beer I really liked was cottonmouth buster.
