My food was finger licking good. The rigatoni was flavorful down to the last bite. Service was great, and the ambience was classy and relaxing. The noise level was average. I did not enjoy the moscato wine, but overall I recommend this restaurant.

Foodie Alert!! I had the pleasure of dining at Sassetta in downtown Dallas, and overall it was a great experience. The atmosphere is chic yet comfortable, perfect for a night out with friends. Our server, Kevin, was very nice and attentive throughout the evening. The only drawback was that it took quite a while for the food and the checks to come out. Still, the staff remained pleasant and accommodating, which made up for the wait. Food Highlights: * We started with a complementary Beef Tartare, it was just ok. * The Arancini were perfectly crispy with a rich, flavorful filling. * The Braised Meatballs were tender and hearty -- definitely a must-order. * The Spaghettini with roasted chicken was cooked al dente, but the lemon was a bit overpowering and the chicken could have used more seasoning. * The Tutti e Tre was a fun way to sample a little bit of everything, and it did not disappoint. Prices were reasonable for the quality and the location, and portions were satisfying without being too heavy. Overall, Sassetta is a lil vibe. Just be prepared for a bit of a wait, and know that a couple of dishes could use small tweaks.

Cacio e pepe

Went for brunch. Service was pretty slow, the food came out quite staggered for our 7-top. The cacio e pepe was quite good. The hot honey pizza was good despite it having cooled off by the time everyone was served and we got to eating it and also the fact that there was just the littlest bit of honey on the crust and undetectable anywhere else and it wasn't hot. The room is beautiful, the staff were lovely. It could have used some light music.

What a great restaurant! We stopped in here for lunch after arriving to our hotel. Absolutely amazing service. The bartender Alex was very kind and attentive. And the food was also amazing. The manager was walking around checking on everyone, this is some of the best service we've ever had. Highly recommend.

The food was nothing short of delicious as we ordered a ton! Wine selection was pretty solid and the bartender makes an excellent manhattan. Ambiance was pretty nice. Only giving this 4 stars because the service was terribly slow and this was a Wednesday night that wasn't that packed.

We were seated at the tables near the window, which are pretty small and very close to others. Although it wasn't very busy, it was oddly kind of loud. It took so long to be greeted or even get water that my boyfriend considered walking out. The Sicilian serenade omg it tastes just like a key lime pie, and the tiramisu martini was had a great taste but I could've done with a little less cream on top. The braised meatballs were so flavorful, but the bread to go with it was very dry. The tuna tartare had a great flavor, however I wish it was a bit more chilled and the chips were only okay. As for the pasta dishes my boyfriend really enjoyed his rigatoni and said it had a slight kick to it. I really liked the cacio e pepe, however I could've done without adding the chicken because the chicken didn't really add much to the dish overall. I was so excited to try the olive oil cake, it had great flavor but was kind of dense and dry. Also, something odd was that our server bagged up our leftovers and gave them to us before our dessert came out, which would've been fine if our table wasn't so small that with the dessert the table was incredibly crowded. I wouldn't recommend mostly due to the service, and although the food is good it's just not memorable enough to come back for.

I went on a lunch date and it was so good! We were sat immediately and ordered drinks. I can't remember the names but they were both good. We ordered the meatballs for the appetizer and they were amazing. The focaccia bread it comes with was super crispy but soft on the inside. For our entrees, I got the cacio y Pepe with the shrimp and oh my gosh, I've been thinking about it since. This is some of the best pasta I have had ever! I cannot wait to come back here!

Lobster Spaghetti

This was pretty good for a hotel restaurant. Ambience was pretty low key, nothing too memorable or special. The service was really great. I appreciated the attentive service at the bar and the great recommendations. Their star dish is the lobster pasta so I got that and thoroughly enjoyed it. Very tasty and a bit unique. Love that they have a happy hour too!

Tomato Braised Meatballs Dinner

Sassetta has lots of options for Italian food, like pasta, pizza, and salads. All of the pasta was so good! I substituted the pappardelle to the lobster spaghetti and it added a smooth texture that contrasted the crunchiness of the pistachios. The red, tomato based sauce had an earthy, nutty flavor. The bolognese and cacio e pepe were also great options as well. The tiramisu was deconstructed with a chocolate mousse alongside a beautiful chocolate and coffee flower cake. It was smooth and sweet with a slight bitterness to it. The flower was edible too! The interior has a bright and modern feel to it with candle lighting to create a soft mood. The servers were super friendly and great but service was on the slower side so it's more of a leisurely dining place. Shoutout to the server who gave us complementary champagne so we could celebrate a friend's promotion! Parking is street parking only which can be hard in the heart of downtown but thankfully they offer complementary two hour valet

Whipped Ricotta
Maral C.

I've tired a variety of dishes from their menu, and my top picks are the whipped ricotta and rigatoni. The rigatoni is creamy with just the right amount of spice--I could easily eat the entire dish! The ricotta is simply perfect; I always request extra bread. I also tried the mushroom pizza a try, and while it was tasty, it doesn't quite top my favorites from the menu. The restaurant is beautiful design and the staff are all friendly and nice. Can't wait to go back again :)

Came here with a friend for dinner on a Thursday evening. The restaurant is located downtown but there is valet offered (complimentary for 2 hours, $20.00 flat fee if you go over that). You'll most likely go over the 2 hours so plan to pay the fee. We did want to be seated near a window but that didn't happen but nevertheless the customer service (servers) were amazing! Our waiter described the drinks/food perfectly and we ordered various options. For appetizers, we ordered the ricotta montata, gnocco fritto, and cozze al vino bianco (mussels). For drinks, we ordered the melone martini and frozen bellini. We enjoyed these appetizers and drinks but I did have issues with my mussels. I kept biting into tiny pearls and I had to send the meal back. They did remake it but the same issue was there and I couldn't risk cracking my teeth. Outside of that issue, the broth was tasty. For the mains, we both ordered the pasta di agnello alla bolognese. The pasta was cooked perfectly but the sauce wasn't savory as I expected it to be. The aged balsamic overpowered the dish and that's really all I could taste. I definitely wouldn't order this dish again, unfortunately. For dessert, we ordered the olive oil lemon cake and créme fraiche panna cotta. The desserts made for a nice ending and I really enjoyed the panna cotta. Overall, the service was excellent but the food fell a little short on a couple of items.

Bolognese
Jessamyn B.

Sad to see some single star reviews for this place because of the food was amazing, and my service was great! I ordered the mussels as an appetizer and the Bolognese as my entrée. They were both delicious and came out quickly. My server and the hostess staff were also very accommodating and the pleasure of my meal. I was supposed to be a party of two, but after my friend canceled, I told them I didn't want to be a bother and sit at the bar. However, the hostesses were so sweet and gave me a table anyway with a view. My only complaint would be that the place was a little pricey. Being from Nashville, I don't mind spending money, but a three figure meal seemed quite a lot when I only had two drinks.

We visited for our anniversary and loved our dinner and experience. If you like garlic and…read morerosemary, order the bread and meatballs! It was the best focaccia bread I've ever had, even better than Italy I think... Very happy with the center cut steak, charred with good flavor yet still medium rare in the middle. Flavorful broccolini and polenta to compliment. The Cacio e Pepe was certainly the most peppery we have ever had compared to other spots. We still enjoyed it very much. Great attention and friendly service from the staff! they greet you about your birthday or anniversary, but no complimentary items (which is understandable considering majority of customers likely come here to celebrate) Additional Note: there is no happy hour from 6-9 at this location!

5 stars based on food and service…read more I've been here twice and the food is excellent. I had a pasta dish when I came a year ago and it was as good as just about any I've had, including in Italy. This latest visit, I had the New York strip and it was excellent. I am usually unimpressed with the steaks served at restaurants, but this was of a sufficiently high quality that I throughly enjoyed it. And while it was steak, the kitchen's skill was shown through the excellent sauce that accompanied it. The service was attentive, including the host staff who graciously moved us outside. I was quite pleased on that front. Ambiance/decor is fine. But the inside of the restaurant is loud. Like, really loud. If you're hard of hearing like my mother, it will be impossible to talk inside. And if you don't like practically yelling to communicate, it will be uncomfortable. There were also issues with their AC this visit so it was stuffy inside. These (hopefully one-off) issues notwithstanding, I would definitely go back to Il Bracco and probably will in the future.

Kenny's Italian Kitchen -- Exceptional in Every Aspect!…read more Perfect! Let Chef Kenny Bowers and his fabulous team take you on an epicurean journey through the wonderful flavors of Italy! From the moment we arrived, we knew we were in for something special. Our hostess, Valerie, warmly welcomed us and introduced us to a dining experience reminiscent of the Rat Pack era of the 1960s. The walls are covered from floor to ceiling with framed photographs of historic figures and local patrons. The classic red-and-white checkered tablecloths complete the nostalgic atmosphere. Our server, Jocelyn, was outstanding! Her descriptions of the menu were thoughtful, informative, and delivered with genuine care. We began with fresh bread accompanied by a tableside preparation of balsamic vinegar, extra virgin olive oil, and a light touch of pepper. So good! Our appetizers included calamari and a trio of bruschetta. Both were delicious! The house salad with Italian dressing was another excellent choice. For our main courses, we selected two combination plates. The first featured lasagna and shrimp scampi -- the best shrimp scampi in Dallas! The second featured lasagna and four-cheese ravioli with red sauce. Every bite was delicious! Adding to the experience was the wonderful background music, featuring Frank Sinatra and other legendary performers of the era. It was the perfect complement to the restaurant's old-school Italian charm. Throughout our meal, Jocelyn anticipated our every want and need. She is truly a professional who understands the art of providing stellar service. During our dinner, we were personally greeted by the manager, Cody Hancock. Here is a gentleman who knows his craft, understands how to build an exceptional team, and genuinely cares about making every guest's visit memorable. His personal attention, combined with Jocelyn's outstanding service, made us feel truly special. That kind of genuine hospitality is becoming increasingly rare, and it deserves recognition. I could go on, but suffice it to say that Kenny's Italian Kitchen is exceptional in every aspect -- food, atmosphere, service, and management! Chef Kenny Bowers and his entire team have created something truly special. I highly recommend that you come experience it for yourself. Make it soon! See you there!

What an absolutely fantastic Italian-American restaurant. I was pleasantly surprised by how great…read morethe pasta was. Started with the fried calamari and whipped ricotta with garlic bread. The whipped ricotta is an absolute must order and I'll definitely be getting that again. The calamari was good, but pretty standard fried calamari, although I loved the addition of the chilis. The portions are absolutely massive, so it's very easy to share dishes. I got the spaghetti and meatballs and they were an absolute delight. The meatballs were juicy, seasoned perfectly, and had a great texture. You can tell they're freshly made and use quality meat. Others at my table got the Chicken Parm Vodka and Tortellini Vodka, and both were rich, creamy, and delicious. The Chicken Parm portion was especially huge. The food here is a 10/10 and I'll be telling everyone to come here for some great Italian food. The restaurant itself is charming. The booths are huge and I loved all the photos and paintings on the walls. The Kingdom of Italy flag caught my eye too. Once the sun went down, the atmosphere really started to come alive. There are a few things I think Barsotti's could improve on. The bussers seemed a little underdressed for this type of restaurant, and some of their shirts were stained. We were also celebrating a birthday and specifically mentioned it in the reservation, so I was hoping for some acknowledgment. Our waiter was very nice and respectful, but I would have liked a little more interaction and explanation of the menu. Overall, the positives definitely outweigh the negatives. I'll be coming back and would recommend Barsotti's to others.
