I was charged $4 for adding mushrooms, which felt a little steep. The bruschetta said it would have shredded mozzarella on the menu, but it was topped with heaps of grated parmesan. Service is great, very personable and attentive. I wish I liked the actual pastas a little more, though! If I return, I will see if they have another sauce I'm interested in. By far the best hidden gem in Dallas. Absolutely love their food. Big portions. All made to serve. And the staff is absolutely incredible. Makes you feel like part of their family. Gives compliments. We were dining as a party of five. From the moment we sat down, we knew we should've gone somewhere else. They had a one-man band for entertainment. Though he was good, it was so loud that no conversation could be had. Our server, Nikolas was not friendly AT ALL. I had asked him at the beginning to do separate checks for two of us and put the other three on the other. This did not happen, and I ended up with the entire bill. This is exactly what I was trying to avoid. When I said something when he brought the bill, he just shrugged his shoulders. The mozzarella carroza and calamari were decent. The Chicken Marsala was AWFUL! Marsala should not be a red sauce. The entree was completely drowning in it, and it wasn't a tasty sauce either. The sauce on the salmon picatta was gross but the salmon itself was good. Whatever sauce that is put on the garden salad is just not right. The chicken parm was just mediocre. I give 2 starts for the food because it was decent but the service was terrible, the bread servers and the water servers were very attentive, i appreciate them. But my waiters? Ridiculous. Me and my family went to eat here as a party of 20+, and it was nothing less than average. Considering how much we paid? Flabbergasting. I was never even asked if i wanted anything to drink, only the water they brought for the table. And that was just to start. My boyfriend ordered the wrong calzone, which we realized. We asked them to take it back and bring us a different one and the waiter got extremely Defensive and asked "well what was wrong with it? I'm not just going to take it back." Like, ma'am i asked you to take it back and bring my boyfriend a new one. What's with the fuss? Charge me whatever it is. No one asked you to comp the meal, defensive for what? Made no sense to me. Let's not get into the bill because that was a whole other mess! They put all the tickets together and there were about 7 different parties, y'all don't think that's a bit... asinine? If the motive was gratuity, we probably would have tipped more to have the ticket separated; i like to believe that is common courtesy.. but, correct me if I'm wrong. They have live music on the weekend from an older gentleman who seems like he's a regular there. He plays sax, sings, and is quite friendly. Definitely an asset to this place. Service was good but I will say, the wait staff should be more transparent about the menu. My husband ordered his pasta first, to which the waiter responded, "Would you like a caesar or house salad with that?" My husband said Ceasar. I ordered. "What salad would you like with your meal?" I took a Ceasar as well. Little did we know that this salad was not included with the meal, which is frustrating as I'm a light eater and didn't eat much of it anyways. The way the question was posed, I think anyone would have thought the salad was included. Ultimately, I guess it's a 10 buck lesson that we learned that really should have been avoided with a more frank wait staff. This has been a staple for us to come to from work. It's tucked away in uptown and fortunately has its own parking lot which is a huge plus given the area and it's difficulty to find parking. That was delicious. Also to start, they give you a salad and garlic bread (this comes with every meal). The bread is pretty addicting! The entrees have been good. Recently I tried their snapper allo marko entree. It was more than enough food and had a good flavor. All their entrees come with a side of pasta. Some come with veggies but it is literally 4 pieces of veggies which is disappointing. My colleagues are obsessed with the chicken parmigiana with a side of Alfredo pasta. I don't think they've ordered anything else. The risotto pomodoro was great as well. I added chicken which came with an upcharge to it to get some protein with my meal. Drink wise, their bottles of wine are very reasonable priced. We ended up getting 3 bottles for the evening. In addition, they carry Morreti, which is a fabulous italian beer and hard to find. We also tried the tiramisu this time around which was pretty good. Overall, this is a great go to to keep on your list for italian food.
