I truly enjoy the affordability of pie tap, today I went with my sisters and we had a very OK experience, the cinnamon rolls we had to send back and get a new fresh batch, but my breakfast potatoes were absolutely delicious and my breakfast sandwich was as well. My sister ordered a pizza and had to send it back because it wasn't a standard which she was used to when ordering pieces from them. She absolutely loves their pizzas. I absolutely adore Pie Tap. I've been coming for years and always order the same pizza (BBQ rotisserie, no bacon, add broccolini). I deviated from that order and decided to try something new (Cesar Sandwhich). I've learned I'm not a fan of chicken Milanese. I didn't even finish it. We got there just in time! Try to get here at 11:30 and beat the crowd for lunch. There were very few cars in the lot so parking was easy. We went in and were immediately seated. The waiter read the specials to us and talked to us about his favorites. We ordered the lunch specials and I for salad and pizza. The salad was fresh and filled with flavor. Super crisp veggies and the hummus was super creamy. The pizza was huge. It's a personal pan but two could eat this and be satisfied. Meatlovers was full of protein and bursting with flavors. I really enjoy pie tap when I come to Dallas but today I was a little frustrated with my experience. We went during "brunch hours" on Sunday and it was quite busy. They have a good selection for brunch and their normal pizzas available. I noticed they had some pretty decently priced cocktails at $6 during brunch. I ordered an espresso martini that took about 20 minutes to come out. We ordered the goat cheese fondue, the workshop salad and a 1/2 and 1/2 pizza of prosciutto and salami. We ordered another espresso martini and our server didn't let us know it was after brunch course so it ended up being almost $14. Overall the food is solid, service just seemed a little slow during brunch. read more

Some decent pizza. The flavors are there and the toppings are fresh but they are quite dry. The Prosciutto has the added benefit of glaze drizzles and cream added, but in one bite the toppings come off and you are left with dry crust and cheese. The salads are also good. The "Pizza Bone" dipping sauces were all okay with the marinara being my favorite. The star of the show is the dough which is a sour dough and so unique, tangy, and flavorful. However as a fan of crispy pizza this sourdough crust is much softer and chewier than others. Which is not my go-to. To add the restaurant was quite dingy and dirty with the menus being caked is sticky grime. For it being such a small building I was surprised by this. It was my second time have food from here but my first time dining in. We sat at the bar. It was a little awkward because the reach was not easy between us and the bar tender. The man and I wanted different pizzas so he ordered the margherita and I order the sausage. We both had the blackberry smash which was tasty, not sweet. Perhaps my expectations were too high for this place. It's really more like fast food pizza in atmosphere. I did not order because they don't allow you to choose the toppings for your pizza. Employee told me that if I chose one of their pizzas, they "might be able to take some toppings off," which tells me these pizzas are pre-prepared, sitting and waiting to be baked. Came in for lunch at 3 ish on a Sunday and they were still serving brunch. Which, is fine? But seems pretty late to be brunch vs lunch? Either way, we ordered 2 pies, some fries for the little and some appetizers. Nothing really stood out to be good or horrible...but the most memorable part of this experience is how soggy the pizza got because it's sitting on a regular plate vs a grated pizza plate. The stone fired pizza creates a lot of steam when placed on a plate with no airflow because the heat becomes trapped...not sure how they haven't figured this out yet!? Brought over half the pizza home and packing it was one soggy mess...I don't even know if it's salvageable. The pizzas themselves were very good. I wouldn't have complained otherwise but the execution fails here. Service was not great. There was a good 10 minutes we waited to be greeted by our server as well as when it was time to get our bill. Nowhere to be seen, maybe shift change or something but it seemed an excruciatingly long time waiting to pay our bill.
