Sasoun Bakery is the best! They always have the freshest lahmajun and boerek for a fair price. You just can't beat fresh lahmajun for only $1.25! Parking can be complicated at times, but there is a free parking structure directly behind the store. Just walk through the adjacent liquor store. Debit/Credit Cards are accepted! read more

I can't get enough of this place. The woman who is usually at the register is friendly and always seems happy to see my mom and I come back. I feel like she really appreciates our business, and is always willing to answer questions we may have about the food! I'm no expert in lahmajoun but from the couple places I've tried it, I have to say this is my favorite. The size of the lahmajoun is fair for the price, and it is has more meat topping than others! The cheese, meat, and potato boreks are all delicious as well, and very affordable! I love enjoying my treats warmed up (which they will do for you there) with a hot cup of coffee, which unfortunately they don't sell here, but I make some at home when my order is to-go. Parking is behind the business, it is a bit of hidden structure that also has parking underground. I love supporting this establishment, and will always be back for more! read more

The old man working the front (Glenoaks) needs to go, or be given another position. Grandpa is way too mad at life. He argued with everyone and gave everyone an attitude, all because he had a large order he had to deal with. Food is good, customer service just doesn't exist. read more

As soon as I walked in, I felt like I was at home! The scent of the spices and then baked goods reminded me of when my grandmother would make berag on a cool Saturday morning. I ordered a potato berag and a cheese berag, while my husband ordered lahmajoun (Armenian meat pie), spinach berag, a spicy berag, and a manayish. It was FANTASTIC, and brought me a feeling of being "home". I intend to come back to Sasoun more often, and enjoy their tasty delights! read more

I drove from Santa Clarita to get their food!! Absolutely delicious and worth the trip!

A few days ago was there to buy a lahmajo for the lunch and my total was $32.50 and usually I don't have cash with me so I gave my credit card to charge, but the cashier told me there is a $1 charge for the transaction, I was like why (because never had experience anywhere to charge for the credit card), she told me who gave us this machine he is charging $1. because I didn't have time to go somewhere else to buy lunch, so I bought it, but will never going to go back this place. read more

Great food here. Love their spicy boreg and lahmajoon. I would like for them to have a sitting area. It is more of a "order to go" place. It's awkward to sit at the one small table they have there. It looks clean and it's efficient. The staff can be a little nicer. For lacking in customer service they get 4 stars. read more

Spicy cheese boreks are unbelievably good. $4.50 each borek that can be cut into 2 or 3. They have lahmajuns & meat / cheese boreks that are also pretty good but have you ever asked to heat up spicy boreks? Ask to heat it up because eating it fresh is the best way to really enjoy it. I love love Sasoun bakery! I've never had a problem with them. The food is always spot on. Customer service is always friendly. Try their spicy cheese Boreks and their lahmajoo. They even heat it up for you. If you have a large order, call them ahead of time. If you're craving some drinks to go with the food, they have Armenian tan (yogurt drink) and other drinks. Why does all the best tasting stuff have to be so damn fattening. As a recovering fat ass myself, it's tough to eat baked dough with meat and cheese without the immediate guilt factor to follow. Wash it all down with an ice cold tohn (yogurt drink) and you've got a lactose intolerant calorie counter's nightmare. But hey, you only live twice, which is why I limit my visits here to twice a week, or else i'd be here every damn day. But honestly, best thing about this place is that it's sandwiched in between the Original Kabob Factory (magic wrap gangster style please) and Remedy Liquor (ice fold Cheladas and bottle of Hennesy). I really need to get my act together. Eating, drinking...it's all I do. Mental note: Go to the gym and stop stuffing your face kid. read more

Love their hot and fresh right out of the oven Cheese Boreks. I love washing these suckers down with some Than ( A savory Armenian Yogurt drink) it really hits the spot with the Borek. Armenian savory goodies at it's best. Influences from Lebanon to Syria as well. No there are no seats inside. it's pretty much a grab & go place. I don't really care for their Lahmajuns (Armenian Pizza) just straight up the regular Cheese Boreks. They do make everything fresh & on site. Yesterday, I was craving something comforting, so I decided to make a quick stop at Sasoun Bakery. Throughout the years, this establishment has been a staple within the Armenian-American communities throughout the south Land, and, one of my personal favorites. I used to pick up various orders via their Hollywood location, many years ago, before they opened in Glendale. I can't begin to tell you just how consistent the quality is! Nearly everything they bake is made to perfection! My personal favorites are the spicy cheese boreks. I also like the Lahmajoun. It's a thinly rolled pie with a succulent ground meat mixture that has been an Armenian cultural staple for ages! My order, yesterday, consisted of two regular cheese boregs, two spicy ones, two Armenian Meat Pies (Lahmajoun), one Manayish(Zahtar Bread), two Potato Boregs, and two Spinach Boregs. The cheese Boregs, each had an even distribution of cheese throughout. The Spinach ones tasted fresh, and tangy! The Potato Boregs weren't overly gummy or starchy. They had a certain pillow-like texture. Very fluffy indeed! Lastly, the Lahmajoun was Crispy, and savory. It wasn't overloaded with meat(which is how I prefer mine). I would recommend this place to any of my fellow Armenians & non-Armenians alike! It's time to take a bit out of something savory, delicious, and for the ages! read more

From small and large cheese beorek, spinach beorek, maneishe, lahmajune, tahini bread and many many more... I had the spinach beorek and it was tasty w/ a bit of a tang to it. Being from Eagle Rock, I am situated snuggley in between Glendale and Pasadena as well a ston'es throw away from Downtown LA (El-Lay) so I am fortune enough to have so many ethinic delights w/in driving distance were I won't have to be stuck in traffic for a quater of my life Or I am within a biking distance that I'm not having to do a century(100 miles) every time I head out... Well I just went off on a tangent there but the point is I have tasty meals within minutes of entering "my belly" (impressonation of Fat Bastard from Austin Powers). While waiting for our lunch at the Original Kabob Factory next door I decided to walk into Sasoun and try their Boerek on the recommenation of the girl next door. I was very happy that I did. We bought 2 to take home for later that evening and I was really surprised at the addictive quality of these breads! The flavor is not overwhelming but it consistently left me wanting to eat more after each bite! The staff is polite, the menu very limited, but they do what they do very well. I think each time we go back to that area this will have to be a place to stop by and bring some Boerek home to satisfy my cravings! read more

Wow! Wow! Wow! I thought I had tasted the best Lahmajune from Taron Bakery in Glendale until I came to Sasoun Bakery. I love how the bread is a bit thicker and gets crunchy! What a delicious surprise. Likewise, although the Cheese Borek is great at Taron as well, the one at Sasoun Bakery has a different bread that is less dense and just amazing. Highly recommend both. I love this place! We happen to walk in when a fresh batch of meat pie came out of the oven. It was so delicious! On top of that it was $0.90 per meat pie!!! OMG!!! The baked goods they deliver reminded me of the time I spent in Turkey. The price to delicious ratio is definitely sexy good! This would be your mama and papa ghetto bakery but since it sits in a nice modern plaza it is not so ghetto. I would definitely try to time it so you catch the goods coming out of the oven.
