My fiancée, her bridesmaid, and I had a great dining experience here this past Sunday. Although we arrived just before kitchen closing they accommodated us and even closed late to allow us enough time to finish our meal. The hostess and waiter were pleasant and the food was delicious. And since it's is about the food I would recommend the Beef Satay, Bangkok Duck, Duck fried rice and a nice Thai Iced Tea to go with. 1st time ever having red bean tapioca; different but very good and would get again. And then of course there is the safe fried banana ice cream; it was also good. I do not however recommend the chicken+pork dumpling appetizer. It was not bad, just tasted much better at other Thai restaurants. Also they did not have mango sticky rice which was a bit of let down. Oh well, can't win them all. read more

Great Thai Food! Must check this place out! First off, I have been coming here for many years with many different people. Everyone loves this Thai food and it definitely gets crowded here! The appetizers such as the spring rolls, crab rolls are all tasty. The soups come out hot and are quite delicious. The pineapple fried rice is cooked to perfection here and so is the fish. I usually get beef with peanuts mixed in a stir fry and it always comes out to my liking. They are definitely known for their Thai iced teas - and they are so delicious - make sure you save some for your dinner because its hard not to suck these down! Haven't had dessert here, but I am sure it can't be bad. The service is great. They are always walking around looking to scope out plates, refills of water, or ready to take orders. Sarin Thai is also very clean and very well kept with its history intertwined. NOTE: Their silverware is pretty heavy so make sure you eat your Wheaties for breakfast or hit the gym before going! 4 stars for exceptional food averaged with 2 stars for overall atmosphere, parking and service....which is more than generous, I must say. While on our quest to experience the wide selection of Thai restaurants on Long Island, we decided on Sarin because we had already been to the other Glen Cove Thai spot. But first we had to park. Sarin sits on the west side of Glen Cove Road a few hundred feet north of Northern Blvd. Parking is tight, but you may choose the lots on either side of the building, one of which is a valet. This is a very congested area on a busy Main Street that curves. Immediately I dislike the whole aura of the place. Ceilings are too high, lights are too dim and they wanted to seat our party of 4 directly abutting the service counter where food, drinks and payment are processed as well as take out orders. No way I am sitting there. Ok, not a problem as another 4 top is almost set for us if we just step aside for a few moments. The host is busy yet polite, not someone that I could see myself adoring any time soon. Funny menu with the Chef's Specialties listed on the upper part of the left page, typically where the appetizers would be located...the menu seemed to be backwards, as if it were a Hebrew book, reading right to left ( members of the tribe are nodding at this point as they understand my description). It is an interesting concept to tempt with the most special dishes at first glance...as if to put the idea in the customer's mind ...rather than them discovering them later in the menu when they've already confirmed their starters and mains and would disregard the most exciting dishes. I like my food incindiary and upon ordering the Green Curry said to the same gentleman "look at me...hot...really hot.." And for the very first time ever, someone listened !!! Halfway through my meal Lee suggested that perhaps I should save the remainder of my curry least my esophagus not implode....it was fantastic and the other dishes at the table were equally enjoyed by all. Lee having the Bangkok Duck and Al, the Bangkok Jumbo Shrimp. Everything was presented in fine French food fashion...sauced and plated just so. Even our papaya salad starter was meticulously secured in a neat circle rather than the typical heap of shredded chaos. This one a bit too soggy, lacking a nice crunch. All in all, good solid food but no where that would become a favorite. No where as amazing as my Tum Thai, though nothing ever is. read more

Came here with a friend after her recommendation and was so pleasantly surprised with this place. This is probably some of the best Thai in the area and it is absolutely delicious. I got the pad Thai. It has a sweeter flavor than other places I've tried but it really hits the spot without being too overpowering. Their lunch special deals are fantastic. Bland Thai food. Came here on a Thursday night for dinner with my bf, it was pretty empty so we were greeted right away and seated. We ordered the Spring rolls and Mee Krob for apps. Spring rolls were just okay. The fried noodles had an overpowering taste of oil, we did not care for it at all. Neither one of us ate more than a couple bites. For entrees we ordered Pangang curry with tofu and the Pad See Ew. The noodles were pretty average fare, the curry was extremely bland. Compared to other Thai restaurants, the food was consistently flavorless and underwhelming. I only gave 2 stars for for the service. The ladies were wonderfully attentive and friendly. Overall though, the food was incredibly disappointing, especially for the price. read more

I brought my kids here and we had lunch menu. I had green curry, there was no kids menu, so I let them share Thai fried rice. Both tasted good. Nothing fancy or special. What we really liked here were cleanness of the table, and setting. A little pink rose was cute on the table, too. We also enjoyed their service. Had a very pleasant dinner here last night. The food and the service were both on point. We started with a chicken sate for the table basically because I have to taste the peanut sauce when I go for Thai food. The chicken was flavorful and nicely seared but the peanut sauce was OK. It was served hot which was a little weird and it had a nice spicy flavor but no sweet to balance it out. However, they brought over a small salad along with the sate and it was really tasty. It also had a peanut sauce dressing but here it was sweet and complimented the crisp salad. I would definitely order that next time. For a main course I got the Shrimp Rama, jumbo shrimp over spinach with a peanut curry sauce. Others in my party ordered beef Pad Thai, Siam noodle and fried tofu with steamed vegetables. We all enjoyed our dishes but the standout was the Siam noodle - large flat rice noodles with pieces of roast duck. The noodles were really delicious! Two dishes came with white rice that was a little on the mushy side. I would order one of the rice dishes next time to replace it. Sarin Thai is a little bit pricey compared to other Thai establishments, so it will not be a place I go to regularly. However, I will happily return on occasion to try some of the tasty sounding treats on their menu or to have more of those Siam noodles. read more

I'm truly disappointed with my experience at Sarin Thai today. I've been coming here for over a year now for lunch. Our company gives exactly one hour lunches, so we call an hour in advance to pre-order our lunch so we can get back to the office by 1pm. Today, our lunch came out at 1pm. we sat there for an hour, starving and just staring at the wall..... and yes, they did have many other people at their restaurant for lunch as well... but they did not just open their business today. They should be fully aware of how to conduct their restaurant whether it be 2 people or 20 people. Due to their incompetency, the customers had to suffer and waste our times sitting there. Our food eventually came out at 12:49, and by then we had to pack our food to go so we can eat alone at our desks..... they were not even sorry about this and when asking for just little packages of sauce, they said they didn't have enough.... When we asked them for an additional bag since we're not ALL going to the same office, he just tossed a paper bag and plastic bag for us to open for ourselves. They showed absolutely no remorse or felt sorry at all for making us wait as long as they make their money. Shame on you. I will never come back here nor will I ever recommend this place to anyone. It's unfortunate, since their food isn't that bad. But I'm sure I'll be able to find another Thai place with basic restaurant competency. read more

I've been coming to this restaurant for about 6 years. I can't believe I've never written a review. I work in the area and when you get an hour for lunch it's hard to go out to a restaurant, but not here. I call and tell them what I want and when we get there the food is on the table. I've called and don't know of any others around that do this. If you know of any please send me a message. The same people have been working here since I've been coming and I know them on a first name basis. The place is clean and not huge but bigger than other places in the area and the lunch is priced reasonably. The only thing I'm not a fan of is the parking situation but again I come at lunch time so not sure about dinner. I've never heard one complaint about the place from anyone I've brought here. I love love LOVE Sarin. The quality of food here is absolutely amazing. When you tell them to make it spicy, they make it so spicy and delicious. The quantity of food is great for the price too. My family loves Jaiya but honestly I think Sarin is better overall with price for quantity and consistency of good flavors. I always get the Tom yum soup, red curry, chicken with basil, and their noodles and fried rice are awesome. I normally love pad Thai but honestly the drunken noodles here are awesome. We did take out from here a few nights ago with friends who live nearby. This is one of their favorite Thai places. We ordered chicken satay, beef satay, red curry with chicken and pad thai. Everything was fresh and tasty. The peanut sauce that accompanied the satays were very good and not overly sweet. The pad thai noodles were a nice texture and not overcooked and mushy as sometimes happens when you get take out. You could taste the prominence of fish sauce in the pad thai but I personally like the flavor but know it might be a little pungent for some people. The curry was a good sized portion and we all wished there was a little more rice to soak up the delicious sauce. Overall I thought it was pretty good food but a little expensive since our four dishes came out to $50. read more
