Oh Sarah. I stopped by because I've seen Sarah Donuts at different location (Decatur) so I wanted to check it out. I got a few donuts for me and some friends for breakfast (after my run outside). We tried the blueberry, regular glaze, maple bacon, and their version of a kolache. Blueberry was SO GOOD. It wasn't necessarily a cake donut because it felt so light. It was delicioso (I didn't mean to put that-- my keyboard accident switched to the Spanish keyboard). Glaze was fine. Maple bacon was really good as well. Always neat to have a savory and sweet taste in one. The kolaches were okay! I had the regular one and then the spicy one as well on a different visit. The bread was soft so I was able to give some to my son to nibble on in the car. I also grabbed a coffee on one of my visits. Sarah Donuts are not only pretty but tasty. Best of all they are fresh. The breakfast sausage rolls are amazing. I could eat them all day. They come in two sizes with the large being spicy. The decor is bright and uplifting plus the smell of sugary confections is an added bonus. They offer a variety of donut styles such as cake and fried donuts. It's hard to make a decision once you see all the beautifully displayed donuts. Most customers walk away with an assortment. I believe at this location you can't go wrong with that choice. Only sad part is the hours of operation. If you're craving one of these sweet treats after 2pm, I'd have to advise you not to. You're feelings will be hurt as they close by 2pm. It's kind of cool, and the staff is really friendly. The donut was kind of underwhelming though. The bacon was thin cut, so it lacked the flavor contribution I was hoping for, and whoever made it really should have refrained from throwing the big fatty piece on top. It was a little off putting. When I first arrived, I couldn't figure out which ones I wanted to try. Eventually, I settled on a chocolate eclair that I had filled with strawberry icing ($1.29), an m&m donut ($1.59), and a donut with oreo cookies on top ($1.59). The fat and sugar just totally upstaged everything else. My daughter had the sausage roll but said that it tasted strange. I tried it but did not really like it because it was a very fatty/salty hotdog wrapped in dough- too much. Really good doughnuts. That's all I ask from a doughnut joint. They taste like they were freshly made hours later, which definitely does not happen when I go to dunkin. I agree with the other people, though; I wouldn't buy coffee here, that's a classic rookie mistake. They have energy drinks etc but it's just not the same. I'm not sure how it works; since the prices seem a bit high when I look at the sign, but when I actually get rung up they always end up cheaper than the chain doughnut joints when I stop by to get a random dozen. We just moved to Norcross and I noticed that Sarah Donuts has been busy daily. As a special treat I took my kids to get some doughnuts before school. The service was excellent and the doughnut selection was way better than the chain stores! We really enjoyed our first visit and my family will definitely be going back soon. Sarah Donuts - both cake and yeast - have a snappy exterior and tender yielding insides that are perfectly sweetened so the glaze doesn't overpower and send you into sugar shock. The cute little donut holes were perfect single-bite examples of their recipe, and I also loaded up on a few varieties to take to a card party I was attending an hour later. The girls loved them! I laid claim to a chocolate glaze-covered star shape, and the red velvet ones went fastest. The cake donuts were the next most popular. Everyone wanted to know where I'd gotten them, and I am sure I saw some people calculating a route home that would take them through Norcross.
