My first visit to this Duluth location of Krispy Kreme was during COVID (August 2020) and I've been here more than several times now due to convenience. I've also been in Duluth more and whenever I drive by and see the hot sign in... it's like a moth drawn to a flame for real. I've had hit or miss experiences - once in 2019, I ordered 3 donuts via drive thru (i wanted to try the new filled donut). We were already almost home and noticed I was charged for 4 donuts... when the box clearly only had 3. Most recently, I came to this location for the free glazed donut, thanks to my COVID vaccination! Show your vaccination card for a free glazed donut through the end of the year! I remember being pretty disappointed when my glazed donut tasted watery, as if they forgot to put sugar in the sugar. Very strange. Even so, the next time I stopped in, it tasted normal. So who knows... I stop into this location the most since I'm in the area most frequently. We visited this morning and it was easily one of the cleanest we've been in. This Krispy Kreme sits on the corner of Pleasant Hill Road and Old Norcross Road and features all the things, including those donuts of course, that you have come to love about Krispy Kreme! I have been to this spot twice with one being via the drive thru and the other via counter service. The drive thru is quite nice at Krispy Kreme these days, but I will say that they lines are always long...so I have found shorter wait time success by simply going in. My orders have never been much more than a dozen classic glazed with the addition of a single chocolate iced for myself...and each time they are exactly what was expected! Service was phenomenal via the drive thru for that visit, but was less stellar on my inside visit. The associate was dismissive and borderline rude in our dealing. After waiting an hour in line for the free graduate dozen donuts today, my daughter had to leave for work, so I waited the rest of the time for her (another 30 minutes). I finally get to the front and they were only giving plain glazed. They said they ran out this morning of the graduate ones. Being the only Krispy Kreme in the area I don't understand how it has survived. Before walking in this lady comes out screaming at herself and beating herself in the head. Not a good sign but I needed donuts. Anyway I order a dozen and hand the lady my card and she stares at me and then stares at the register. Then she looks over at another employee. I ask "is something wrong?" And she tells me she can't use the register. She yells for the other employee and he looks over at us and completely ignores her. I DONUT care about anything else when that "hot now" sign is on. I love this Duluth location! Quite an upgrade from their old space on the other side of the 85 bridge on Pleasanthill. Easier access, too. Plenty of parking available. I could sit there and watch the machine make those donuts all day through that big glass wall. The shop has several tables and plenty of seating if you decide to that. I once stood in line for over 30 minutes, maybe even an hour during a promotional day just to get my hands on those sweet, melt-in-your-mouth goodness they call doughnuts. It's truly mesmerizing to watch. I didn't even realize I was standing in line for that long. They feel and taste so light you don't realize you've eaten half a dozen. Another fun fact - I was once dared to eat a dozen glazed donuts in under an hour. I won $25 that day! This location usually has the new, seasonal flavors. If you ever want to try a new flavor, come to this location! They have a great selection of flavors and their "hot now" sign is more often on than off. If not, just microwave those suckers for 8 seconds and it's like they just came straight off the fryer. Instructions are on the box. At my most recent visit, the staff was extra, extra sweet like their treats. Greeted me upon entering and was super helpful during my quick visit. Even made small talk. I ordered a half dozen: 3 glazed, 1 chocolate glazed, and 2 Hershey Gold donuts. Saw an ad on Facebook for the Hershey Gold donuts. I am a sucker for anything caramel and could not resist the urge, so I drove to the closest location after work which happened to be my most favorite KK location to date. So worth the 85 traffic. Came into this location last Friday. Upon entering, I noticed it was very VERY clean on the inside. There were 4 people working, 2 young ladies and 2 young men. The line was little lengthy but it's cool, it was St. Patrick's Day and everyone wanted their green donuts lol. The young lady who helped me and my friends was about 5'3" and brown skinned. She needs more customer service training tbh. She wasn't friendly, didn't greet us when it was our turn, she just stared at us. I spoke, I said "hello how are you..." I'm Bakery Manager, I work in retail, so it's extremely important you greet your customers with a warm smile and actually TALK with them. She just stared at us. Young lady, if youre having a bad day, you can always go home. Your customers dont need your attitude..... Now the young man who checked us out, he seemed very young despite his height. I've only had original glazed KK donuts. I usually only eat them when someone buys them. Today, I got a chance for the first time to go inside to order a dozen of different things! The HOT sign was on so it was perfect! The place is well lit, spacious, with plenty of seating. Costumers were in and out quick! The cashier was also very nice! I ordered one of everything! Glazed lemon filled, cake batter, strawberry glazed sprinkles, chocolate iced custard filled, butterfinger fudge cake, butterfinger filled donut, chocolate Kreme filled, original creme filled, glazed raspberry filled, chocolate iced glazed, and 2 hot original glazed. I love this Krispy location because it has more space inside for seating. I love the delicious donuts. The donuts are always so fresh. I usually get donuts when the light is on because I like my donuts warm. I love the original glazed donuts the most. I usually get a variety of flavors for my family. It is so much easier to look at the different donut flavors with the display being in front of you. Some donut places makes you look over their counter to pick your donuts. Here it is so much easier to pick donuts with the new set up. I have to admit that I have tried other locations but this one is the best. I agree with Chris Rock when he once said that Krispy Kreme should change their name to Kracky Kreme because all I could think about on my flight back to the states was getting a Krispy Kreme donut. In the middle of the night I drove across town to the one location that carries apple fritters. These are really good especially after 8 seconds in the microwave. I was happy they moved from the old location closer to Club drive. This area feels safer. The staff here is very friendly and they pretty much carry all the donut varieties. My choices are simple, the original glazed, raspberry filled and Apple fritters. That's all I need and I'm good. Got in line at the drive through, which was super slow for whatever reason. We got a half dozen, two Boston creams, and 4 chocolate frosted. I was ready to tear into them, and we ate one in the car, but they were not hot, not even warm. We hypothesized this might be because of the chocolate frosting, however we will still disappointed. We waited til we got home to eat the rest, so we could nuke them. He devoured them, and I ate mine too, but I was less enthused. The staff is very friendly and delivers great service. I prefer Krispy Kreme over Dunkin' Donuts. These donuts melt in your mouth. There is always new types of specialty donuts coming out so keep your eyes out for new flavors!! Parking is a bit small. The lobby is only open for pick up Orders due to the Coronavirus.
