I have heard of this doughnut shop from multiple friends but I finally got a chance to stop by! The location was next to a gas station but it was brightly lit and the cashier was super nice! I ordered a dozen assorted but when I opened up the box I actually got a couple more! It may be because I visited right before closing. Everything was super fresh and delicious! My favorites from the box were the sunflower doughnut, strawberry frosted and coconut! I got so many doughnuts I was able to share with friends and family, who also said how good they were. Sarah Donuts makes your day a HOLE lot better! I heard that Sarah Donuts makes custom letter and number donuts, so I called the closest location and placed an order for pick-up three days later. I talked to a kind lady over the phone, and she asked me to text the exact message I wanted for the donuts. She responded immediately after I sent the text message. I arrived on a weekday after 1pm to pick up the donuts. This SD is located next to a Texaco gas station on the corner of S.R. 141 and McGinnis Ferry Road. The same kind lady I spoke to over the phone and texted let me know this prior to my arrival. Parking is a breeze. The store was bright and really clean! The wall decor is adorable and eye catching. The dining room is currently closed due to Covid-19. I was greeted by two wonderful ladies as soon as I walked in. They weren't busy, and they still had a good selection of donuts available. From what I hear, SD sells out of donuts rather quickly. In addition to my custom order, I also purchased a red velvet cake donut. I took a quick look at my custom (yeast) donuts before paying and they looked better than I had imagined! They also added some yeast donut holes to fill out the space in the box which was nice. The red velvet donut did not make it home alive. I devoured it as soon as I got in the car. The custom letter donuts stayed pretty fresh throughout the afternoon. I enlisted my friends' help on eating them. Although I can get down on some donuts, I knew it wouldn't be in my best interest to eat them all by myself. It took everything in me to not eat all 8 yeast donuts as well as all the donut holes, especially after getting a taste. I have stopped by this place so many times and it is usually sold out by the time I get there late mornings/early afternoons. I usually make do with whatever is left and today was no exception. They have several kinds of donuts: regular, cake and sour cream. They also have others: sausage, sunflower, croissant, etc. During the covid season, they have provided paper by the door for you to use to open the store. The same nice lady smiles behind her mask and helps me with my order. I love all their donuts! The sour cream is crispy. The cake is soft and packed with flavor and the regular ones are fluffy. And the price is great. $0.89 a donut and $9 a dozen. They do have some specialty donuts that costs a bit more, but definitely more affordable than other gourmet donut places in town. After arriving to a doctor's appointment about 30 minutes early, I drove around the nearby shopping strip and stumbled upon this tasty place! It was about 10AM and not only was there no wait to be served, the selection of fresh looking scrumptious donuts was quite stellar! My mom always wants maple glazed and I snagged two of them for her. I also got two Boston cream, a devils food and a coconut cake donut.....In and out with my food to go in 2 minutes! When is the last time that has happened anywhere?!?! My mom and I ate our donuts in the car while waiting for it to be time for her doctors appt. I devoured the Boston Cream - it has been my go to favorite since I was a child. In my many years of eating this type of donut - I cannot recall a better tasting Boston Cream donut. It was fresh, filled with just the right amount of "pudding" and the satiny chocolate ganache/glaze was perfect. My mom said the maple glazed was awesome m. I broke off a piece of the devil's food donut and it was equally impressive. In stark contrast - my last recent visit to Dunkin Donuts ended up in disgust and I left without any donuts or even a glance up from the unfriendly, overworked staff. There were about 5 people in front of me, about 5 sorry looking stale donuts still available in the glass display case, and each customer was taking 5 minutes to place their order, and then another 5 minutes of taking a number and waiting for their fancy Frappuccino Mocha latte drink to be made and delivered to them! With only two people working, and a steady stream of impatient drive-thru customers.....things weren't moving at all...so I left, won't be back to DD any time in the near future....but instead, will set my "sweet tooth" sights on any Sarah Donut shop I see....from now on! This is a family business in the best sense. Even though the adult son of the mother and father owners has an MBA from UGA Terry School of Business and an auditor consulting job, he comes back twice a week to run the counter in the mornings and makes sure that every customer has an efficient, warm, and personalized experience. They ask questions about their customers to get to know them and provide a personal greeting each visit. But let's talk about the donuts. At the son's recommendation, I tried the glazed strawberry jelly-filled, bear claw, and the signature Snowberry which has a split donut sandwiching cream and sliced strawberries as well as a powdered sugared crown from whence it derives the "snow" in its name. All of the donuts' dough was soft, light, fresh and not at all soggy. The strawberry filing tasted and appeared like it had fresh strawberries as its base rather than artificial flavor. The bearclaw was mildly spiced and sweetly gooey on the inside while properly dry on the outside sugar coating, so that my bites broke into the wet goodness. The star was the Snowberry, with perfectly ripe and fresh strawberry slices, a light and fluffy cream, and a soft dough such that I didn't have to messily fight the dough to take each bite. It was good enough that it didn't make it to the car. As a result, the photo doesn't do the Snowberry justice. Go get one to experience true glory. read more

I went in during COVID-19 season b/c I figured my workplace could use a little sugary cheer up. It helped that the interior is well kept and bright. It's a small space but that's all you need for donuts. They have seating for about 10 but it was closed at the time. The lady, who I'm sure is the owner, was very friendly and welcoming. I got 2 boxes (6 donuts each) and she packed them neatly so they don't all smear against each other. I like that attention to detail. I also got 5 sausage wraps that she put in a separate bag. They also have coffee and fridge with milk, juice, and drinks but I didn't get any. Their donut presentation is neat as well. They take pride in their production and it shows in the product. The counter is a clean white and they have one of those Clover registers so you don't have to hand them the credit card. I didn't look at the prices b/c they're donuts. I figured they're affordable. It was $22 for a dozen various donuts and 5 sausage wraps so it was a good price. I'm sure the wraps were $1 or so each, which makes the donuts competitive with Dunkin but fluffier and fresher. I was able to get one hot and fresh and it just melted in my mouth and just out of this world. They have variety of options you can choose from. I got a dozen of assorted donuts and also their sausage rolls (they have sausage rolls with jalapeno cheese!) My favorites were raspberry filled donuts, cinnamon twist and sunflower. My friend really liked their glazed twist. The donuts are super fluffy and has the perfect texture. Not greasy at all and not overly sweet. The interior of the store is very cute and SPARKLING clean. Their service is also excellent! Very friendly staff who were very patient even when I was being indecisive in choosing my donuts haha. There are the megachains (don't waste your time), the gourmet nonsense shoppes (overpriced hype, and again, don't waste your time), and then there are the local, mom and pop stands (in my opinion, the only establishments worth visiting). Sarah Donuts is a shining example of a locally owned, no frills bakery with an amazing product and beyond-reasonable pricing. The donuts my family tried -- and we tried just about everything -- were stellar. We especially enjoyed the maple eclair, sunflower donut, and of course the standard glazed. Been wanting to try this place for a year and a half. It's a mile from our house but I don't eat breakfast so it never happened until this weekend when we had company. Too bad that we didn't know that our company had gone low carb on us and wouldn't be participating. Sarah must know what she's doing because her donut shop continues to expand. I was so happy to hear they opened a location near my office. It's right near a Texaco gas station. Once a week, I run past this shop and often get tormented smelling the fresh donuts. The doughnuts here are very fresh, very light (as far as a doughnut can be light). I never feel disgusted or overly heavy after eating a doughnut from here. Who am I kidding? I usually at least have two. Today I had three and still felt fine. Ha! Not sure if that's such a good thing, but it's a testament to the lightness of these scrumptious round treats. One dozen costs nine dollars and if you want the filled, it's $13 for a dozen. Two drawbacks: not open Sundays and they don't take American Express. Otherwise, they are definitely in my top five doughnut shops to hit up. Definitely worth bookmarking. read more

Great place for cheap (not too sweet) donuts and sausage rolls! I love how their donuts are not completely covered in glaze and sugar. You can actually taste the dough. They are famous for there Red Velvet donut. If you don't get there early in the morning they will run out. This location sits off McGinnis Ferry Rd near Medlock Bridge, sandwiched between the cleaners and gas station. Very easy to miss but roll down your window and follow your nose. I dropped in and grabbed a long John (Extended Boston cream), cinnamon bun, two cinnamon twists and two pig in the blankets. I also grabbed a hazelnut coffee. Just a little over $11, perfect. My honey loves the long john. The cinnamon bun was so sweet and moist, perfection! I LOVED their large pig in blankets. They had jalapeño in them, not too spicy though. I could have had two of those and called it a day. My son devoured the cinnamon twists. Those were excellent (snuck a bite). My coffee was also really good, better than Dunkin.
