Despite my experience, I recommend everyone visit this local donut shop and support small businesses! I visited with two friends around afternoon time and we were greeted by the worker behind the donut display. Although they had a small selection, they had all of the basics. However, their prices are a little high for basic donuts; around $2 each, and specialties are slightly pricier. We ordered a cinnamon roll, apple fritter, and classic donut. Unfortunately, they ran out of coffee. The service was great -- the man packaged our donuts, took our payment, and we were out of the store in a couple minutes. As for the taste, I was slightly disappointed in the extreme sweetness of the glaze. Of the three items, we were unable to finish two because of the excess glaze. The pure sweetness overpowered the fragrance of the apple or texture of the donut. If I were to visit again, I would reconsider which donuts/pastries to order. read more

New to the area and wanting Krispy Kreme donuts, but didn't want to drive all the way to KK. So found Donut Palace on maps and decided to give it a try this morning. It's very convenient for us and we were pleasantly surprised by how good the donuts were. Very close to KK in flavor and consistency. Only complaint was the chocolate covered were put in the bag chocolate sides together and kind of made a mess. However, the white crème filled chocolate covered donuts were very good. We've been on a hunt for great local donut shops around Lawrenceville. I found Donut Palace and decided to give it a try. It's a small shop and can be easy to miss. I planned to only get two donuts, but there is a $5 minimum to use a card. So we opted for three donuts. We got a traditional glazed, glazed blueberry cake and a donut with chocolate icing and sprinkles. The glazed donut was really good, the texture was perfect, there was a good balance between cake and glaze, and the right amount of sweetness. Blueberry cake was ok, i wouldn't get again. It was soft and moist, but the taste was off. And as for the donut with chocolate and sprinkles it was the completely opposite dry and a little hard. Soo if you are looking for a great traditional glazed donut this is your spot, try the others at you own risk. read more

Great little neighborhood alternative to Krispy Kreme or Dunkin' Donuts!!! I'm a fan of the plain glazed, while wifey loves the Boston Cream and the kids really enjoy the pigs in a blanket . Not a very big shop and not much variety, but a solid place for good donuts. Okay everyone - let's review the Yelp rating structure. 5 stars is "as good as it gets" 2 stars is "I've had better" With that in mind - I've most certainly had better. There is absolutely nothing that makes me feel the donuts at the Donut Palace are any better than what you would find at Krispy Kreme or Dunkin. In fact, the argument could be made that Krispy's could be better as they go through more batches and you have a good chance of getting donuts that have been cooked more recently. So Donut Palace - little hole in the wall next to a gas station. Even my four year old commented as he got out of the car "Daddy? This is the donut shop? It doesn't look like much." The food? Exactly the same as I've ever gotten at a chain donut. Glazed, sprinkles, powdered, filled. The only reason I'd go back would be if it was marginally closer than a chain store. read more

Cute local doughnut shop. I like that it is a mom and pop store. There arent any like it around. It opens early in the morning and closes early afternoon. Great for those early commuters. I havent been here enough to really rate their doughnut quality. The one doughnut I had was decent. I dont remember a ton of varieties. It has more of a traditional doughnut shop feel. read more

Wow! Just wow! This store is WAY out for me. But I was shopping in Lawrenceville anyway and figured I could stop up here first. It was getting near closing time, so I called ahead and they told me they still had plenty of donuts. I am so glad I stopped by. This is small little shop behind a gas station - look out, make sure you don't miss it. You will find very classic donuts here. No crazy flavors that you might find a certain donut shops. They keep it basic and simple. I ordered a blueberry cake, twist, and cinnamon roll. He asked if that was it. I was like isn't that enough? lol. They were all for me. :-) I ate the twist right away in the car. YUM! Nice and soft, as well. Next up was the cinnamon roll. Eaten on the way into a thrift store. Wow. Also, great. I like that the glaze is just right - in sweetness and texture. Blueberry cake was eaten at home later that evening. Again, no disappointment. These were all wonderful donuts. No complaints at all. And the price was excellent, as well. Under $4 for all three donuts. Note that the credit card minimum is $4 here. I paid cash. I swear by this place. The donuts are way better than the big donut shops. When I need donuts I always start here. My wife likes cake donuts and they consistently make moist donuts for her. They make the best traditional donuts I've ever had. When you taste the donuts, you know they are made fresh every day. The dough on the regular glaze and boston cream is extremely light and fluff. They're so light you could stuff a whole one in your mouth, no problem I drive right past Dunkin Donuts to get to Donut Palace and laugh maniacally at how crappy DD donuts are.
