They have a great HH until 7pm, $6 sake! The food is tasty and fresh, I got the gantry roll with avocado & salmon, pretty filling and also had the chicken skin yakitori. The hamachi collar was good too my sister had and also tried the Katsu Don. For dessert, I recommend the matcha churros! Overall a satisfying meal and staff was so friendly, gave a little ice cream cone to my nephew which he gobbled up! Also really liked the decor, a fun laid back bar feel.

LOVE this place. The selection of food is good, prices are decent, and the options are varied. It feels like a low key, first date type place. Classy but not fancy.

Perfect spot to grab a bite after work. The sushi was nice and fresh and no wait for a weekday at dinner time. I do wish they used fresh wasabi instead of horseradish.

I was in the area, starving, and craving sushi. Sapps was the closest open option, so I headed in for some lunch. It's a cool industrial type vibe in here - graffiti on the walls, a bar playing sports, that kind of thing. Felt more like a brewery than a restaurant but no matter. I started with a miso soup, green salad, and green tea. All were good, and I was pleasantly surprised at how bug the green salad was. I ordered the 8 piece sushi entrée that comes with a tuna roll, which was an incredible deal for the sushi you get. These were omakase level sushi pieces for just $30. The flavor combinations were incredible, and I especially loved the ones that tasted like the tops were a little charred. Service was fast and friendly. I'd definitely come back here if I'm in the area again.

I got this place delivery with my friend as she moved in and it was a nice, quick spot for some sushi! We got two combo rolls and they were all pretty solid. Each came with your choice of salad or soup, and they were good sides!

Friendly service with unfortunately mediocre food. Ordered the pork katsu curry -- the portion of katsu is small while the beef curry itself lacks flavor and has tough beef. Likely won't be coming back.

Cool ambiance. Pretty extensive menu. This place has a local sushi joint feel with high end fish selections like toro on the menu. Everything was made very well. Fried squid legs had a nice crunch. Very tasty but nothing special. Crispy rice with tuna was excellent. Sushi pieces a la cart are fresh. Also got the veggie tempura and yaki udon. Overall, everything is good... just nothing special. Service is attentive and friendly.

Ate here today after work as a substitute paraprofessional at P.S. 234 Q. I had brought and ate the karaage chicken and shishito peppers for an appetizer, got the rib eye teriyaki steak to be cooked medium rare with a side of white rice as an entree and assorted ice cream (green tea, vanilla and red bean) with crunchy granola that it tasted super good and delicious. The service there was also attentive and thanks to the server Darrell to get my orders right. I couldn't agree more. Finally, I would definitely eat and come back again next time! :)

Sapps is a spacious izakaya with bar seating and a variety of tables to accommodate diners and parties of all shapes and sizes. My preferred move is to sit at the bar where I can enjoy the attention of the bartenders, all of whom are knowledgeable, polite, and offer terrific service. Ask them about happy hour specials (the hot sake is a must) or inquire about the various food items on the menu. This is a perfect spot to drink, eat, and catch up with old acquaintances or new friends. As the name would imply, this is a great place to get a nice cold Sapporo draft. Pair it with some yakitori (the tsukune is my favorite) or takowasa (cold chopped octopus in wasabi). The sushi offerings are approachable and satisfying, with a few specialties, such as the sushi pizza, which can make a nice compromise for those who aren't too familiar with sushi but want to give it a try. The fish quality and preparation are always satisfying, occasionally outstanding. This is a perfectly fine place for a lone patron, but it's also wonderful for parties of two. I consider that to be the ideal number of people to sit at the bar and catch up over the course of several rounds of drinks and shared plates of food. This could also be a nice date spot and of course parties of four or more can have a great time seated in the dining area. Personally, the action is best at the bar, where one can savor the moment and allow themselves the gratification of becoming part of the environment.

Got the katsu curry rice and the nabeyaki udon which were both were yummy! Came here on a Saturday night and the service was fast and efficient! The ambiance was casual and clean. Would definitely visit again to try the other foods!

Such a cute place, so well designed. Sushi lunch special of three rolls was served with a fresh big salad. The portion was large enough to share and the fish was extremely fresh. The staff was super friendly and consistently checking on us. They also have a happy hour.

Cute Japanese restaurant with great cocktails! I enjoyed dinner here with friends. We ordered the rock shrimp and takoyaki for appetizers. I recommend both! My boyfriend ordered a salad and for $5 it was large. Honestly it was as big as a lunch-size portion for me! I ordered the Nabeyaki udon. This udon soup came in a hot stone bowl. I loved how everything was kept very hot, but the udon noodles didn't overcook, and was the perfect consistency throughout the meal. It came with a lot of other ingredients, and the shrimp tempura that came with this dish was also great. My friends and I all enjoyed our cocktails. I ordered the lychee martini and it was quite strong. They have fair prices for cocktails here, cheaper than average in Manhattan! Would come back here again!

The restaurant is quite small, with one table that seats 4, and seating at the window. There are 2 small tables outside, as well. Be careful when you go inside because there is a step after you open the door. Packaging was convenient with the handle around the sushi box. Overall, the fish was mediocre considering the price. Some pieces were soft while others were very stringy and chewy. I am not one to dip sashimi in soy sauce because I like to just enjoy the natural flavor of raw fish with a little wasabi. However, since the fish was a bit fishy, I needed a little soy sauce to mask the taste. The wasabi was also on the mild side, so I added more than I usually would. I would have rated this place a 3/5, if I did not find a hair sitting on top of the ginger...

Noz Market fits an ever diminishing niche of good quality sushi and ambiance at a somewhat decent price point. I got the $155 option which was enough to feel full. The Chase Sapphire Reserve dining credit is applicable here, which is very helpful. The service was really good. I noticed that crumbs were dealt with expeditiously and my ice water never went empty. The tuna egg yolk appetizer was decent. The ten pieces of nigiri were as follows: 1. Scallop 2. Squid 3. Golden eye snapper: kinmedai 4. Horse mackerel: aji 5. Japanese bonito: katsuo 6. Rock shrimp 7. Yellowtail: buri (Note: I've never seen this, usually see Hamachi which is less mature) 8. Bluefin Tuna: akami 9. Chu toro 10. Oh toro The uni course was Hokkaido uni. Not as unctuous as Santa Barbara, but still good. The toro taku hand roll was a good size. It was toro with pickled yellow radish. The miso soup was very savory. I feel like there was some faint mushroom taste. I ordered two supplemental prices. Sea bream (Madai) and Knife jaw (Ishidai). They taste similar but I like the texture of the latter a bit more. I'd never had this before. Hojicha green tea. Strawberry cheesecake was delicious; however, diners this night did not get matcha Mont Blanc like others wrote about, which was a slight bummer.

They offered two different option a $90 course option and a $155 course option and you choose which one you want when you first make the reservation. Highly recommend making a reservation when you come here because it did fill up on a Monday evening. The sushi chef was very professional but did not really chat with us - he made each piece and then told us what each piece was and that was pretty much the extent of the conversation. The quality of the fish was really good and the rice was nice and warm. They offer you extra items that you can order at the end and I highly recommend getting a toro or crab handroll at the end because they were both delicious. For the $155 option it does come with a Matcha Monte Blanc as a dessert which was pretty yummy and it was a nice touch since not all omakase places come with a dessert at the end. Everyone was very friendly and professional here and I do recommend checking this place out. It did not feel like they were rushing you out the door!

They do clearly ask about rice and wasabi preference in size throughout the dinner which is quite considerate. Drink menu was fine with a number of sake options including the chefs sharing glasses throughout the meal! The fish tasted good and fresh, rice was fine though nothing memorable. Middle courses had uni, ikura and snow crab - good courses and filling. Finally we ended with the premium courses - toro caviar and a5 Wagyu with uni. I would've preferred the toro/wagyu alone and is just my personal preference that the gourmet add ons don't enhance the piece for me. Otherwise they were very good. You then have the option to order additional courses including extras off the menu. Overall sushi by m is an excellent value for the omakase course and quality of fish. Because this restaurant is conveniently located near me, I decided to give it a try. The restaurant has two sushi counters, one larger and one smaller. I was seated at the smaller counter by the window. The staff was welcoming and friendly. There are two menu options, 12-course at $69 and 15-course with appetizers at $100. After asking the staff to explain the difference, I chose the 15-course option. It was a pleasant surprise to find that the chef at the counter was the owner, M. He was approachable, and we had a great conversation about his experience and the business. Clearly a hardworking and passionate chef. As for the sushi, the fish was fresh, well selected, and nicely cut. The rice, however, was a bit loose and occasionally did not hold together. Some of the sauces were slightly overpowering, which affected the balance of a few pieces. Overall, it was a solid experience with genuinely warm and attentive service. One suggestion would be to reconsider the background music. The current U.S. pop playlist feels disconnected from the ambiance of a sushi counter, and a more thoughtfully curated selection could elevate the overall experience.

Instead we got seated. We shared calamari and a California roll, and my husband had tuna sashimi. I had a miso soup and the Wagyu fried rice. I'd give this place 6 stars if I could for the ambiance and wow factor. But what was disappointing was the Wagyu fried rice had almost microscopic bits of beef. I guess I should have expected that for only $16. Calamari was excellent. So was the soup. California rolls were okay. In total our bill was $164 which seemed like a lot considering we didn't even leave stuffed - just comfortable.
