I think that the time that you come here heavily translates to the quality of the food that you get. As I got here (likely at an awkward time), the food was a bit cold. However, it was still delicious and there's a good variety in dishes you can choose! And, remember to bring cash for a discount!

Two meat option. 1. Beef/Broccoli 2. Twice Fried Pork over a bed of noodles.

A hidden gem! The serving sizes are huge, the food is very tasty and affordable. There is a lot of competition in the area for different types of asian cuisine but this has become my favorite. It's not the healthiest meal but it is very authentic. The service is very quick and they are always willing explain what the different options are (as it's not always super intuitive). There is no ambiance as there is limited seating and this is really takeout. It also feels a void in terms of there not being an inexpensive Chinese food option in the neighborhood.

This is in my area...3 combinations for $14.35 cash, my favourite is the walnut shrimp...this is much better than Panda Express

This fast causal take out place is located inside a grocery store. You can see all of the options at the station. The service was fast and they have some seating in the front. The quality is okay, the food is on the saltier side, but definitely a good option for a quick meal. The 3 dishes with soup lasted me several meals. The portions are large!

Bento Express is a hidden gem tucked away in Koufuku Market, so it's easy to miss. Recently, it has become my favorite fast food spot in LIC. You can choose two or three dishes and have an option between noodles, fried rice, and white rice. The meal also comes with complimentary soup or soda. The portions are so generous and they usually load up the box. The soup also changes pretty often and I enjoyed three different ones so far. The food is very flavorful and the price is reasonable.

They also had some peanut, and pickled cabbage snacks, and oranges. We opted for the Mushroom and Beef Tallow Spicy Broths. The Mushroom was herbal-y. The Beef Tallow Spicy had a pretty good kick, so we didn't feel like we needed to go spicier. You can also skim off some of the spicy oil if need be. You do get hit in the face with the spice broth steam, so don't get too close to the broth. It's a good thing the chopsticks are long! They do come by to fill the broths. We ordered off the tablet and most dishes came out pretty quick. The portions are on the smaller, which is good for AYCE. Everything cooks pretty quick too! Everything tasted fresh and of good quality. They have a large variety of meats, seafood, mushrooms, vegetables and everything in between! The Dan Dan Noodles were a big portion and on the blander side. I would skip this. The Herbal Jelly was refreshing, though we had to ask for them to bring it out. Overall, a good spot for a small group for AYCE.

We were seated upstairs, which felt more private. Since the husband doesn't eat seafood, we opted for the Silver Wagyu Set ($68) to just focus on the wagyu. For the specialty item, we got the Wagyu Bone Marrow and Sweet Shrimp Sashimi. Wow, both of these were delicious although the bone marrow was a bit fatty and more of a show. Nonetheless, it's expensive stuff and I've definitely reorder multiples of this if I got the Diamond Set. The waitress recommended 2 orders of each meat to start, which was perfect. Everything came out so quickly too. I really enjoyed the scallops, shrimp, and abalone in the seafood platter. I found the king crab too difficult to crack and eat though. We also really enjoyed the sides from the minced wagyu rice to takowasa. We ended up ordering another 3 sets of meat before we were too stuffed. I liked the ribeye and brisket most. The meat quality is great and cooked so quickly. I really enjoyed all the variety of dishes we got with this and service was so quick. For the broth, we get to pick two: sukiyaki and golden milk. My favorite is enjoying the soup afterwards to end the meal. Finally, we ended with some ice cream too. Mikiya is definitely a splurge, but their quality and service really does make it worthwhile. I'd be back on special occasions though, which will be a treat.

It was hands down one of the best hot pot soup bases ive ever had! There's a huge plate of chicken pieces that they throw into the pot as well as other ingredients to elevate the soup base. It was so flavorful and hearty it was my favorite part of the meal! My friends ordered the other stuff, so idk what we got, but quality tasted good. I liked that they had a sauce bar with a pretty decent variety and also a mini app section to get woodears and chips to snack on while waiting for the food. There's also grapes and oranges available to grab after finishing your meal. Staff were so attentive and friendly. They made sure to fill our broth when it started getting low!

Server recommended either the fish maw or coconut chicken broths. We opted for the coconut chicken broth. They literally just pour bottles of coconut water and then let the chicken cook in it. Makes for a sweeter meal with the coconut. Pretty solid amount of chicken for two. Veges are okay. We also ordered some bean curd and beef to top off. I felt like quantity was generally on the smaller side for what you get. Servers were nice though and always checking-in, replace plates etc. The space is big, but fills up quick. We got seated immediately a little before 6pm on a Saturday, but tons of people waiting by the time we left. I'm not totally sure I get the hype. The chicken with coconut was fine, but nothing remarkable. It was quality though and the sauce they recommend you create at the top of the sauce bar def worked well with the chicken. But I'd still probably opt for more traditional hot pot option if split broths and more red meats.

G and I were both underwhelmed. Hot and sour soup is average. Actually, not as good as the takeout place across the street. Shrimp fried rice is nothing to write home about. And tofu with chili-sliced pork -- so disappointing. The pork was unsalvageable pieces with gristle and fat which I picked out and discarded. If ambience is important, Wa Jeal fits the bill. It's sort of fancy. But as I see it, you can't eat ambience, and I won't be back.
