I doordashed from here and had a really good experience. The restaurant actually called me after to make sure I got all my food which I really appreciated. The lady who called was so nice and friendly too. Food was great! Next time instead of doordashing I think I'll bring my family and eat there instead and enjoy the atmosphere. read more

Paid $20 for this 3-roll set which I think is very reasonable. Watched the chef make everything fresh to order. However, the seaweed is a little chewy which isn't my favorite texture in sushi. Seems like a simple local spot, but I wouldn't run back for sushi. read more

52nd Sushi - Sushi Bars Near Me - Woodside, New York

Sushi at a certain lower price point tends to look the same across the raw fish spectrum. Whether it's in all you can eat sushi spot or smaller, takeout places like 52nd Sushi, it all becomes a very typical and average sushi experience. The interior reminds me a bit of like a Dunkin that turned into a sushi spot. There are a few stools for countertop eating here, but it is too tight for a large group of any kind. Their delivery has been a saving grace for the neighborhood and the family that works here is very friendly. All of the folks working here speak Mandarin, Fuzhounese, and some English. The sushi is, as described earlier, quite average. Thankfully, the rolls aren't too heavy and the nigiri pieces are just right portion wise. They are an excellent option for a party tray and double as a lunch spot with very affordable deals. Folks who aren't in the sushi, tend to go with their bento boxes. Overall, this is not a destination establishment. It is, however, a neighborhood spot that has a plethora of value sushi. There's nothing wrong with the latter per se, as there's always going to be an audience that lives for food just like this. read more

Ate here today by myself on a very cold afternoon. I had ordered and brought the shrimp tempura, octopus takoyaki and fish katsu bento box a side of miso soup. It definitely was really good and delicious. The service there was also attentive and welcoming. The ambiance was really quiet as well. Finally, I would definitely eat and come back again next time. read more

Nice hole in the wall place close to one of the Blink gyms I went to today. It's relatively small but the food is fresh and the aesthetic of the place has the feel of that of a Japanese restaurant tucked into a commercial street in Shinjuku. I had a simple lunch special, the sushi I got was pretty filling. I didn't think 3 rolls would be enough but it hit the spot along with the miso soup. Next time I come around and I have a bit more money to blow, I'll try one of their bento boxes but as far as the sushi goes, it's legit. read more

The staff here are the best. Very friendly and respecful. The restaurant is clean always. Sushi is always good. Highly recommended.

The sushi was delicious, I can't complain. We came here 40 minutes before closing and the owner of the restaurant or whoever was working there yesterday night was really friendly and even provided us a table with a menu. I got my usual you avocado rolls and Gyoza's while my boyfriend got I think a rainbow roll. I'll update this soon as I ask him! read more

The menu changed, the prices went up. The Woodside staple, has officially been replaced by 52nd Sushi Bro's. It's gone. The mom and pop shop was affordable and the food was good. Then they retired. Family members came in to take over. They added /changed the menu a little bit. Everything was basically the same. However, after a recent visit, the name was changed. The menus were changed. The combos were gone, and the prices were up. My husband and I were disappointed, considering this was the go to sushi spot for us. It was affordable, and the combos were the go to. read more

Yay! So glad this place remains. I came here years ago and never left disappointed. This is a tiny place. Maybe seating for 7-8 people. I ordered the sashimi bento box and it was awesome! The fish was done perfectly. I ate way too much. There was soup, dumplings, regular salad, sushi, seaweed salad. If you pay cash, you get a discount on your bill. The place is very clean. I highly recommend this place. Take the 7 train to 52nd St. Once you come off the station, 52nd Sushi is about a block away. read more

I've walked past this unassuming place for years. We had other sushi restaurants to order from. Now our favorite has been closed for half a year or so, and finally I had the presence of mind to remember this place, and after looking over the reviews here I decided we had to order. We ordered the Maki B and Maki 3 combos as well as the 52nd Roll, as well as an order of gyoza. This didn't seem like a lot, but boy did it fill us up, and we couldn't have been happier. A few weeks later we ordered those combos again, but with the dragon roll and were no less pleased so this is now our go-to sushi takeout. The Korean entrees pictured at the restaurant look no less intriguing, and I expect we will be trying those soon. read more

Food was delicious and the portion sizes were great! Will definitely come back again.

I used to come to this location years ago--really great quality sushi and affordable. Still affordable. Staff is sweet and attentive. Unfortunately the quality isn't the same anymore. The tuna and salmon were not fresh. Heavily tasted like sea water. I also found a piece of hair on my roll :( read more

We ordered Japanese from 52nd street Sushi XL size- Sashimi-Sushi-Roll Combo. It's a total steal at. $110. It is good for four people. Comes with a quart of miso soup. You have to order rice if you want but there's a lot of sushi on the platter. If you haven't tried them order from them sushi & sashimi are fresh. read more

Visit Date: November 3, 2018 As part of my adventures of a thirty-one consultant I made my third trip to Woodside with my son in tow and my friend to help me as an assistant. We were going to my director's house for a celebrate & connect meeting. My friend loves sushi and since I treat her to food as part of her helping me out, I noticed this place was on the way to our director's house so we stopped in for sushi. The space was small but the staff was very friendly. They also served us very quickly which was good because we had to walk the rest of the way to my director's house for the meeting starting at 1. They let my son look at the fishies and luckily he didn't really run around the restaurant much. I ordered the sashimi bento box and my friend willingly ingested my carbs for me and ate my dumplings and sushi that came with my box while i just stuck to my miso soup, salad and sashimi. I thanked her for ingesting my carbs. My salad was nice but the sashimi really didn't have much of a taste to it. The miso soup was your classic miso soup. So I wasn't overly impressed with my food and the restaurant space was tight and small but I did appreciate the courtesy of the staff. read more

Honestly love the sushi here (it's actually the only sushi spot that I would go on a daily basis if I could) this is my go to spot to get some sushi after a half day at school, or after a regents test (mainly because there's a lunch speacial that goes on during every mon-sat 11:30am- 3:00pm. My favorite has to be their tempura shrimp sushi rolls; goes well With soy sauce in my opinion. It's also a okay place to take your loves to, its a pretty quaint little place, ya can't miss it. read more

Came here because it was a sushi place close to my apartment and I wanted to find a local sushi place. This place is really small and it seems that most people get their food delivered or picked up since no one really stayed and ate there while I was eating there. Service was good. The waitress was attentive and while it seemed a little busy, the only waitress was there when we asked. The food was delicious. Price is decent for sushi. I ordered the 3 roll Maki special, 1 extra roll and 1 bowl of seafood udon for only $30. The sushi was good, but nothing extraordinary. Udon gave a good amount of seafood and I really enjoyed it. Presentation was good. My boyfriend was actually jealous of my udon bowl and wanted it. Overall, I would come here again or even get take out since it is relatively cheap. read more

I had high expectations because their prices were less affordable than its neighborhood competitor, TJ's, so figured the sushi was probably better. Guess what though? It's much shittier and more pricey!! First thing you might notice about 52nd Sushi is how bummy it looks - it's a straight take-out place and it's really hot in the restaurant so hopefully they use all that electric money towards keeping the fish fresh. I made the mistake of ordering their maki combo of spicy tuna, salmon and yellowtail and they were some of the worst spicy rolls ever. I'm well aware that spicy rolls normally have the fish minced and mixed with spicy mayo. That definitely not how this joint had it. It was the raw fish with spicy mayo completely drenched on top. And not good spicy mayo, too. It was hard to get through my meal. Honestly. And c'mon...you're going to put the miso soup in syrofoam cup?! No thanks. read more

Solid 4 stars. Stopped in the other day for the first time and was greeted by some of the sweetest people I've met in Queens food service. I feel like these are the kind of folks who would remember your name and order if you came all the time. I'm planning on it - $3 for an avocado & cucumber roll who can afford not to? Ingredients were fresh, everything was made to order. I also got a shrimp tempura roll - I love the warm crunchy fresh shrimp next to the ice cold fresh veggies, way better than pre-made rolls that have been sitting in a deli/restaurant all day. Also a fan of the sesame seeds on the outside of the roll - additional crunch is always good for us sushi novices. read more

i'm so happy i found this place. well, more like someone introduced it to me. the place is rather small, quite hidden, and might not stand out but the ambience inside is so lovely! it feels very comfortable and home-y for some reason. i love it straight away. but of course when we talk about restaurant the food matters most and it did not disappoint at all! i even like the menu. it's quite extensive but not too overwhelming. i wasn't hungry at the time so I just get myself salmon avocado roll. the fillings were generous! just the right amount of rice and salmon/avocado. the salmon was fresh and the avocado tasted amazing! creamy and looks beautifully green. the other people in my table ordered bulgogi over rice and spicy pork over rice. it comes with side soup and salad. i got to try a little and would describe it as a hearty, comforting meal. affordable price and the service was very good too! i will definitely love to come back read more

Came in out of curiosity, when I walked in seating is limited and very tight. The place was empty at 6pm, not sure if that's a good sign. I ordered 2 rolls, the avocado roll and the crispy crab roll. Rolls are probably the safer bet, I wanted to do sushi but since I.never had their food, I figure the rolls are a safer bet. The eel roll was mushy, the rice had very little flavor. overall the eel roll was not impressive. the crispy crab roll, was tasty but not something I would go back for. each roll was $10, so given that the rolls were less than impressive I won't be going back. the waiter that took my order was friendly, too bad the food was disappointing. read more

The plot thickens.....and I mean the plot of that story where I get take-out sushi and watch movies in bed in my underwear. Usually, TJ Asian Bistro around the corner is the winner for me. Yet, a new contender has entered the sushi ring.... decided to finally try this place last night and feed my muscles some protein after an epic workout at the gym. I noticed right away that it was just slightly more expensive than TJ. By like a dollar or something for some of the rolls. The simple eel roll was definitely more expensive. I ended up getting the dragon roll, a salmon/avocado & a tuna/avocado & a miso soup. I have to say, it was good sushi. The rolls were pretty big! I had about an entire roll left over, I was satisfied and didn't want to keep eating...Everything tasted fresh and delicious. The dragon roll was realllllly good. Oh and the miso soup stood out to me as well, it was very flavorful. The restaurant itself was tiny with minimal seating. But I wouldn't recommend eating in anyway, it's right by the 7 train and incredibly loud when the train passes by. Definitely check it out for take-out though!! read more

Absolutely the worst sushi I've ever had. White tuna sashimi was spongy texture, the cut of fish was really chunky(Not a sashimi cut). They used a end part of the Salmon for sashimi and the size of cut was 2/3 of my finger literally. It is okay to use frozen sashimi but it has to be treated properly so the fish doesnt get mushy. Also, my mesclun salad was all withered. I hope they improve their food quality. read more

Came here for the first time this past weekend. I was a little surprised by the proces...$6 for a roll? Is Queens now Manhattan? I got a cali roll and a boston roll. The food here is very good, the prices are excellent, and the portions are average to generous. If you don't mind eating in just under the 7 train (just north of the 52nd St stop) or take out (no delivery), and the limited menu -- the value is very good. It's as good or better than other sushi places in Woodside and Sunnyside, AND it's a lot cheaper. $3 for avocado and cucumber, $7 for a spicy tuna roll + 4 pieces of sushi. Plus, it's run by some very nice Koreans. They have some really good value lunch specials, too! read more

Went here after the gym on a weekend. Ordered two rolls and a salmon yaki dish. Our meal came with miso soup and entrees came promptly after that. The special roll (52nd roll) was amazing. Full of toppings. The salmon yaki dish was good. Nothing to scream about as it's salmon with teriyaki sauce on top. It was cooked perfectly however. Service was excellent. They accept card. Seems like a small family owned place with a touch of personal service. Friendly staff and very attentive as they filled our water glasses several times before it got low. So far I am a fan of this place. The dining area is very small. I read on Yelp that it was small but when I got there, it is really small. Maybe 2 tables and a bar along the window. I'd opt for take out as they don't deliver. I ordered the Maki C combo which has crunchy/spicy tuna, crunchy/spicy salmon, and a sunny roll which is basically a spicy california roll. This combo was $16 for 3 rolls and comes with a miso soup. They also have a small Korean section on the menu which is pretty cool. I ordered the Bulgoki over rice from here which comes with a salad, miso soup, and edamame for $9. Overall for 2 people it was under $14 each. Not bad for sushi and korean food in one sitting. I'd definitely give this place a try, maybe during the week since it doesn't have a big dining area and they do offer some good lunch specials. read more
