There is sufficient parking space in the plaza, not sure what the busy times are and how holidays affect the flow. I ordered the calamari and mixed tempera to start, the waitress was kind and advised me I was there during their lunch specials "Buy one get one 50% off" so I ordered 2 shrimp crunch rolls. The waitress brought me soy sauce, wasabi, and ginger. The condiments tasted old and dry,like they prepped it last week and it finally made the rotation to the table. After having my appetizers, it took another 10 minutes to get my crunch rolls, by then my stomach was settling in and full, when my rolls finally got served, I had two pieces and asked my waitress for my check and a box. Not the expectation I had and the experience I wanted. I'm on the fence if I'm going to go back or recommend this establishment to family and friends. My experience was truly very "Blah!" Chose this place for our little 20yr anniversary celebration with my husband (we're foodies and really like trying out new places) and they did not disappoint! Food 4/5 The sushi was very good but not very memorable or crazy flavorful. Enough to satisfy but not really to tempt a visit back. This restaurant has gone completely downhill. It used to be a favorite of mine, and I'm not sure if management changed but the customer service is terrible, and the restaurant is dirty and grimy. The bathrooms were disgusting and our waitress was extremely rude. We requested to move tables because we were seated next to the smelly bathrooms and our waitress proceeded to bring this up twice when we mentioned the fact that we waited 45 minutes for water and about an hour for one of our orders. There were 3 of us and one person's food never came. We waited an hour, during which we repeatedly tried to flag our server down and she made eye contact then ignored us. When we said that our friend's food never came out she said "Well, you switched tables." I said that she moved us to a second table that she selected so I didn't understand why that justified food never coming out. And to top it all off their TV screens were playing sumo wrestling. All respect to the sport but I don't want to see bare a** cheeks while I'm trying to eat my food. When my food did come out the quality of the sushi was not good and I was praying I wouldn't get sick from it. Never coming here again. read more

If you're looking for great quality fish, excellent service, and beautiful presentations, Sapporo Sushi is the spot to be. Shoutout to the wonderful staff, especially my waitress Tina, who was so attentive, and the manager Jack, who made sure everything was perfect. The food was fantastic and the live shrimp was a standout--they literally pull a shrimp out of the tank and prepare it in front of you! They're located in a plaza with free parking and has a spacious interior that's perfect for large groups. The waiters are very kind but the food takes a long time to come out and when I have gone and ordered appetizers and then sushi, the sushi will come out first. One of the greater sushi places in LB for sure. I've been hearing so many people talk about this place that I had to try it out. So many options on the menu that it overwhelmed me, but they're all such great options. I got the Seaweed Salad, Sapporo Roll, and the 2 pc Sushi (Bluefin Tuna). The quality of the fish is so fresh and doesn't taste "fishy" at all. My friend got the 2 pc Sushi (Fatty Tuna) and it was so much tastier than the one I got. I would ask for the market price before ordering so there aren't any issues. As for the Sapporo Roll, other rolls my friends ordered had better taste and flavor to them so I would get other options next time. The seaweed salad came out first and it was also great along with the rolls for the texture and taste. Take adavantage of their Buy One Get One Roll. My grandson and I went there on New Year's Eve. The service was horrible! I ordered a roll and it took 45 minutes for them to make it. We were sitting at the sushi bar and they had so many orders to go that they were completely ignoring people in the restaurant. The waiters were coming over, telling the sushi chefs that people were had been waiting for over 30 minutes for their sushi. I will never go there again on a holiday. read more

My family and I have been coming here for many years. It's one of our go-to sushi spots. I love the traditional Japanese ambience and their bento boxes are great too. The prices are a bit more expensive than others but when it comes to the sushi/rolls.... definitely worth it! The service can be a hit or miss at times, but mostly, not bad! It was my friend and I, and even it was only 2 of us and nobody around us, they added the large party tip gratuity in the bill. The food is good but something is always wrong here. I've eaten at Sapporo Sushi since 2015. The restaurant has gone through several iterations of owners and managers. Not all have been good. The current ownership and team are great. The sushi chefs are knowledgeable and show a definite confidence in their ability to deliver quality fish. The staff has for the most part always been friendly and the service at the moment is great. Prices are fair and portions are generous. The ambiance of the restaurant has always been comfortable and well lit. Keep it up. Cheers! read more

1st off there is free parking. it's right by the college. They have buy 1 get half off signature roll. They aren't busy at all. The place is quaint. The staff kept checking in on us. But there was many things off. I noticed the seafood in the case didn't look fresh at all, it looked like frozen fish, and the case was left cracked open instead of being enclosed. We got the rainbow roll, pick me up, Snow White roll, and wiki roll. The Fatty Tuna SU, Japanese Yellowtail SU, Salmon SU, yellowtail belly su, Mackerel SU, Red Sea Bream SU, Snow Crab Leg SU. The chef did make the sushi fast, and cut the seafood correctly, but they cut the sushi not evenly. One roll would be thicker and one would be thin. The plating does look good. But the sushi rice fell apart when picking up. The Snow White roll was thick and the cream cheese was warm, gooey, and melty. The wiki roll had the lemon too sour and I don't think should be on a roll. All the SU were not fresh at all. The yellowtail and crab leg were fishy. The tuna was slimy. We got the steamed dumpling and yellowtail sunrise. I would say the yellowtail sunrise was the only good thing we got. I would say this was the worst sushi I've had. The staff is nice but for the price of the food, it wasn't worth it. read more

My husband and I have been going here for 11+ years. We came in on New Year's Day and the older gentleman who was the floor manager was extremely rude to all guests waiting. He did not communicate wait times. One of the waiters was kind enough to say they were short staffed. The floor manager was cold, short and yelled at people who tried to communicate with him to understand how long the wait would be. He was very unprofessional. We decided to leave and frankly were so put off by his behavior that I don't think we'll be coming back for a very long time, if at all. read more

Sold out of oysters when they put out a sign in front which got me interested in trying out this spot. The chefs were very friendly. Nigiri was good. They offer a bogo 50% off deal most of the time. I think it's to try to push out the fish that is starting to go bad. The soft shell crab tasted like it had been dead for a while. The mussels had shell broken into the meat. Only indoor seating - options for a booth, table, or bar. Came here for dinner with my sister. When we entered we were seating right away and we're given complimentary edamame. We wanted to try a couple different things so we decided to order a dinner bento box each and a baked roll to share. The Bento Box comes with rice, miso soup, salad and your choice of two to three items. Two Item Bento Box: korean bulgogi and salmon roll (additional $2 for this item). Korean Bulgogi came in a large portion and meat was tender and juicy. Salmon roll was fresh and they added cucumber which gave it a nice crunch. Baked Salmon Roll: So good! The roll was so flavorful and practically melts in your mouth Given the large portions we both had leftovers. Service was unbelievably quick! Also, our waitress Rachel was so sweet and made our experience so great. Overall, I really enjoyed my time here! Staff is quick and friendly. Food was great and came out fast. I decided to try this place at the recommendation of a friend who lives really close by. I went with three friends and we had no trouble getting a table right away at about 6:25pm on a Sunday evening. I think our server's name was Saki, and she was very attentive. Two friends got udon and ramen (sorry, don't remember the exact items), and one friend and I shared three no-rice rolls - Truffle Tuna, Malibu, and Honeymoon. They were all very tasty, and I was so glad they had so many rice-less options! Not sure I'd get the truffle again as it was quite truffle-y, but glad I tried it. I did like the one with peppered salmon quite a lot. And I guess it's a good sign that we ate it all up before remembering to take photos! read more

To my delight, there are now several new items on the menu. The Udon section was very well thought out. I observed a couple of nearby tables were all eating the Udon. For this visit, I tried the green bean appetizer, which was quite flavorful with a nice kick of spice. The portion size of the crunchy spicy tuna roll was big and consistent with my prior visits. They spice their tuna well-- this roll is very satisfying! I enjoy the ambience of this restaurant. It's not noisy and the lighting creates a warm feeling. My suggestion is lowering the volume on the music which was pretty high on this visit. You can't beat their ongoing special which is 50% off the second role. This is what they are known for.
