Landed in LA after a two month, fun but exhausting euro trip. Went home and slept for 4 hours. Got in the car and drove 5 hours to the Bay for a friend wedding reception. Needed a pedicure really bad, so I look up a few places around the hotel we're staying at and drive. First place said they accept walk-ins but then asked me to come back in the afternoon. Mind you it's 9 am. Second place said welcome in but charged $45 for a simple pedicure with gel colors. Finally I found this place! Amazing! Great service! Amazingly detail oriented work. I gave this place a try for the second time again. And my first experience was slightly better. You enter through the back side of the building because that is were the parking lot is located. There is only about four-five pedicare chairs and two workers (not a great place for a big group). I walked in without making an appointment and there were no other clients in the building. There were two ladies that were available to help one which I believe was Tammy. The other lady did my manicure and pedicure. I was escorted on the seat for the pedicare which didn't seem very sanitary. The chair was a massage chair but the buttons on the chair seems worn out so I wasn't able chose the option I wanted on the chair. The lady did a great job on my pedicare and she did a massage with the oil which felt great. She seemed a bit sick so she had a runny nose. Which I didn't mind when she went to go blow her nose but she didn't wash her hands after she came back to continue my pedicare.They don't have toe foam separators instead they use toilet paper. I also did a manicure and they supplies that she used didn't seem very sanitary. Seems like they use the same supplies for every client. Even though she did a great job! Both the manicure and pedicure the total was $30. I believe they raised their prices the last time I was here. They ladies do a fantastic job for the reasonable price. My review is based on how I believe this place isn't unsanitary. Even though the the quality of the work is great. I won't come back here but this place is worth a shot once to experience it. read more

I have no idea why I have not yelped this place sooner. It must have slipped my mind. I have been coming to Sandy since I was 22 years old. Now I am 33. She has always been really nice to me. But due to my job I could not wear my nails until now. Let me just tell you, I am so freaken happy. I always like my nails with a bit of a curve and Sandy is very very good at that. Actually she has been the only one that has been able to do it for me. Her prices are also really good. I paid only $20 dollars for acrylic set with white tips. My pedicure was $15 and $3 for a design. She has not even raised her prices since I knew her. I will be going back again. I am excited to always have good looking nails at a affordable price. read more

I'm a little disappointed with Yelp these days. I rely on ratings to find good places. I thought this would be a better experience and I was hopeful about trying a new place before a wedding I attended on Saturday. When I went in, Sandy was doing her own nails. (She is a very nice woman.) She and another woman took care of my daughter and I. Unfortunately, my manicure and pedicure were rushed and I was done before my daughter was. As the paying customer, I have never been finished before my child. The tips on my French manicure were sloppy. Not even 24 hours later, the white was cracking and the next day was flaking off. I think this is probably the worst manicure I've ever had. If a nail salon is too busy or is expecting other customers, I would rather them tell me than rush through and do a sloppy job. I am paying for the service, and I tip well. I may continue to come back if I get better service. In between finishing me and starting the next customer, Sandy went back to doing her own nails. The next woman had her feet in the water and had been waiting for about 10 minutes. I'm sad this didn't work out and I feel like I wasted my time and money. read more

They are very nice and managed to fit me in on a busy morning. I wanted to get my nails done for 4th of July and came here the day before. The technician who did my nails was very sweet and we had good conversation, along with one of the other patrons. Although my design was simple, they had the exact color choice I wanted (white, red/blue with sparkles). The sparkles really made the accent nails pop and I got several compliments on them over the weekend! $15 for Gel (no manicure, just paint) She was done fast and I was able to get on with my busy holiday/vacation week. I live down the street from this little spot and will likely be coming here again. :) read more

A girlfriend invited me to come to Sandy's.....now I'm a new customer and taking my other girlfriend. Her prices are fantastic. In fact the operator doing Pedi's for the chair next to me used to work at my old place and I told them all I left because the prices were over the top. (Old place = Pedi, French polish $27) (Sandy's = $18) The place is quiet, clean, 3 massage pedi chairs, 2 or 3 nail stations and 2 large couchs to sit and chat and dry. Best thing !!!!! She works on Sundays....and since I work on Saturdays this is great for me. I like places that are comfortable, no pressure and you get a sense of trust as you are letting these people touch your body....ok it's just feet, but unattentive foot care can lead to problems. Also I saw that they autoclave the equipment right there in the room....unlike other places where the cleaning goes on behind the scenes (maybe)....I took notice of this. read more

Not that I am lazy and its not that I don't know how to but.... I love getting pedicures. Girls love to be pampered and why not reward your feet for all they do for you. Its also important to find a place that has a good rep. I mean I have been to places that I have had to walk out of because they just barely rinse the foot spa and say next. You also need to find a place that knows what they are doing so you don't get ingrown toe nails. So I mean it is really hard to find a place that does a great job and is safe and clean. A friend of mine recommended this place, she said she had been coming here for months and was great. So I tried it. This place has nice massage chairs while you get your pedicure ( You can use them as much or as little as you want unlike other places who have a timer) Its also great that their equipment is clean and they take their time when it is your turn so they do a really great job. The girls are really friendly and nice. They also do Waxing (never tried so I can't comment on the experience). This place is a keeper for me. read more

I've been coming to Sandys nail care in Newark for years! I can usually just walk in and get helped right away but I would strongly suggest making an appointment or calling ahead of time because there has been instances where I can't get in that day at all! The place is a decent size, if has 4 nice new pedicure massage chairs and 4 nail stations but there is usually only 3 employees at any given time. You can't really beat the prices either, a basic manicure and pedicure will cost you $25. Of course if you add on the nail designs and/or French manicure it will cost you more. Besides nails Sandy's also does waxing. I've come here for the waxing a couple of times as well, not bad. Overall it's a nice salon, closed on Tuesdays. My only advice is to maybe bring your own nail polish cause there aren't too many different colors to choose from. read more

I've only stopped by this place to get my pedicure and let me tell you, the ladies here do a phenomenal job. They have extremely reasonable prices and their customer service is so so friendly. They kind of remodeled the place and since, it feels more open and fresh. I haven't gotten gel nails/manicures here being that I refuse to abuse my nails LOL, but for now, I will stick to Sandy's Nail Care for my pedicures! Keep up the awesome work ladies, this is my to go place for pedicures. *One thing I do wish they had is maybe a pedicure chair for kids, since my nieces and I love to get our pedicures together. The customer service is always great but please please don't get their gel nails. It's awful. They do it a new way and use this thick clumpy gel polish stuff instead of powder and it's so thick and ugly and changes the shape of your nails completely. They're uneven, and puffy. I went to this place for the first time on saturday morning, i thought oh cool its empty, not too expensive and looks fairly decent. It is now Tuesday... THREE days later... my nails are lifting. The polish was sloppy to begin with but i can over look that due to the price. But now I am most likely going to have to go somewhere and get my nails fixed and pay even more. I would Not recommend this place to anyone unless you only need them for 48 hours. Highly Dissatified. The pedi chair was the only decent thing about this place. :( read more

Took my friend out for her first pedi. Sandy Nails Care was open before my friend had to go to work. Pedicure was cheap, but you get what you pay for. The environment was super uncomfortable--no one said anything the whole time. Sandy missed parts of every toe nail , making my nails look disfigured. My friend and i laughed the whole way home, but really we would have been better off waiting and going elsewhere OR even doing it ourselves. read more

Good pricing but I wouldn't go here to get my nails done again, I was surprised to see all the great reviews. I went in for a shellac/gel manicure, it looked good and I walked out happy, but instantly my nail Polish started chipping and coming off, the same day!!! I had a girls day out with a friend and she goes here to get her mani and pedi. I usually don't try places I know nothing about but decied to get my nails filled anyways. WOW what a big mess that was. They don't do a good on GEL nails at all. After a Gel set your nails should be Shinny well they were far from it they are dull she didn't file my nails down correctly. They are just a hot mess. I will never go there again. The mani pedi is great anything else go some place else. I will stick with my nail shop in Mountain VIew. read more
