Found this lovely bar in downtown Bend, OR a 5 min walk from our hotel and down a little alley. The vibe is super cool with an altar for San Simon, the patron saint of debauchery in the middle of the seating area. The server advised that people leave trinkets or something for San Simon so he won't pester them or give them any trouble later in the evening. Of course we obliged with a little note on some MX pesos from our travels. The drinks are flavorful and strong. So many great options - we ordered the Gin and Juice Number Deuce (nice passion fruit flavor), Executive Lounge (strong and smokey) and Shrub a Dub Dub (the watermelon shrub and pickle was so good). We also got a build your own charcuterie board with marinated olives, a fancy canned tuna and smoked Rogue blue and a soft Brie. A must visit if in Bend!

I love good lighting, I love a mean whiskey sour, and I love a cool, unique place I can just unwind and have a good time, with or without friends. San Simon is that place. Salud!

Forgot the name of the Cocktails but both gin drinks - very good gin..

Cute alley , got a bit loud when a group of 10 or so folks gathered right in front of the tiki booth ( loved the velvet curtains) we'd chosen to sit in... drinks were ok / excellent quality gin - I think you pay for the vibe- inside was really really dark but the chaise lounge seating looked comfy ...

It was not about the food but an after dinner cocktail and a charcuterie board hit the spot while catching up with friends. Service was amazing and very tentative. Thank you for entertaining our jokes and keeping our drinks full. Super chill place, quiet and relaxed and just an awesome vibe to this place.

Classy place to have a cocktail or whatever you're drinking. There is plenty of outdoor seating. When we were there, it was cold, and the fireplace tables were in full use. We sat inside, at the bar. This place has tapped into the desires of many patrons at an upscale bar, and that is a great charcuterie plate. You can build your own from a selection of high-quality ingredients. For the olives, they make their own brine with harrissa and citrus. The portions are pretty generous, so it is easy to share.

Wanted to do a big shoutout to the service here!! Everyone who worked with us on Saturday night, different bartenders/waiters who brought our drinks and helped us were all SO NICE AND SO COOL. You normally don't see this kind of service these days going out. Drinks were bomb. A fantastic cocktail bar!

Amazing vibes, nice and dark ambience. Some of my favorite drinks are here with fun rotating seasonal drinks. The food is super expensive for what you get so i just usually come for the drinks. Great service, always greeted kindly.

A great place that is truly focused on craft cocktails

A true craft cocktail bar that caters to the most adventurous to the standards. We had a couple of their signature cocktails along with a Manhattan made with High West Whiskey. Seating is plentiful for singles and small groups with bar seating and small group vignettes. Service was friendly and knowledgeable. Great selection of local and National distilled spirits.

We had a lovely time getting pre dinner cocktails! Service was great and we sat outside with a fire pit. I ordered two gin drinks which were great. My friends also loved their drinks especially the mezcal paper plane. We would love to come back next time we are in bend!

    Some Positive Feedback

My wife and I decided to wander the downtown area of Bend a little bit and found this little gem nestled back in an alley. Outdoor seating or indoor dark room seating almost like an old speakeasy. It was very cool. The low lighting and bartenders gave off very good vibes. They did offer a small snack menu with some pickled vegetables and I believe some charcuterie assortments, but my wife and I were just there to grab a quick drink before heading off to dinner. I ordered the "Positive Feedback" which was a delicious tequila drink with a peppercorn salted rim. It was different and kind of cool. My wife ordered the "Last Blockbuster" and that one definitely won for best drink I think. It was also a tequila drink (jalapeño infused tequila) and fresh lime. It was amazing. The bartender here gave us 2 great choices for dinner, one was the Wild Rose Thai food (which we chose and LOVED), and the other was Zydeco (which he evidently designed their website which is kind of cool) which we definitely try the next time we are in town. Along with stopping back by and grabbing another couple drinks from here again. Cheers! 10/10 will definitely be back.

Excellent cocktails! Fernaiquiri was great and the Sazerac on happy hour was spectacular! Super cute inside, fun outside seating, and nice people.

Whether you're an old wino...umm well aged oenophile...like my husband and me who have been drinking wine for 40+ years or a complete newbie to the world of wine trying your first glass, go here! Viaggio opened in 2022, a handful of years after we moved from Bend after nearly 20 years as residents, and alas about that timing for us because if we still lived there we would be here weekly, at least, to sip. SET UP: Walls of wine throughout the shop with bottle prices marked on front which I assume one can open to drink there as well as buy to go. But we spied Viaggio on our way to dinner reservations next door (The Hook and Plow) so popped in after dinner. Alcohol lightweights that we find ourselves to be at this age and having had cocktails with dinner, we came in to Viaggio to peruse the by glass menus and bottles and stayed to enjoy pours from the 2oz Coravin menu. Both that menu and the by glass larger pour menus are great ones (I posted photos of both sides of the two menus) which is no surprise given the credentials of the owner, Benjamin Richardson, as both Somm and fine dining management experience including as wine manager at the 3 Michelin starred Meadowood restaurant in the Napa Valley. PAY FOR THE WINE BUT THE PRICELESS EDUCATION IS FREE: We bought a couple of bottles of an Italian varietal I enjoy that is hard to find and when I asked the server if there was any in the shop, I didn't see it in the tall walls of wine as I made a casual pass along them, she said she'd ask the owner. In a few moments Benjamin was tableside with two bottles from different wineries and also to share information about them and the varietal. We paid for both and since we were traveling they were very nice to hang on to them for us for a few days until we passed through Bend again. READ ABOUT THE JOURNEY: Viaggio means journey in English and I so recommend reading the owner's story in his Yelp page summary to learn the significance of that as we were able to do in speaking with him in the shop. If you're wanting to enjoy a glass or bottle of wine in a great space this is the place. If you want help in filling out a wine collection, or to make selections for meal pairing or learn about wine this is the place. If I could wave a magic wand for a perfect wine shop, this would be it. SEATING: Indoors in front and back of shop at tables and chairs and a long communal table at back of shop too. Looks like outside seating as well during daytime and / or nice weather but it was a rainy night when we visited so no outdoor service. EATS: A small selection of wine appropriate nosh are offered on the menu. On the right night, a glass and a plate or two of these would be linner or dinner for us. ACCESSIBILITY: Winos on wheels, as I was in using wheelchair for this visit, are welcome thanks to equal access of level in the door, all on one floor and standard height tables and chairs. Also one side of the communal table is a long bench but the other side are chairs that could be moved for access for wine drinker in a wheelchair to have access to join friends at the same table. You would be amazed how many places miss this important point of providing that kind of full inclusion seating in communal spaces. Good for Viaggio for getting it right. PARKING: The Hixon Apartment lot can be crazy full at night time. Note if you're picking up a wine order there are 30 minute limit parallel parking spots right across from the front of Viaggio. Accessible (AKA ADA) parking is at side of building and at the back side of Hook and Plow.

Excellent vibe. YELP Short Answer: Yes, visit and join if you're into your vino, Location: Lots of parking and easy to find. Buildout, Excellent but be aware of sun during certain times of year, they have shades but it can be bright and warm even when it is freezing outside, not an issue. Seating is very comfortable. Menu: So many options, best to ask questions or order by the glass. I believe this is more geared to purchase a special bottle to enjoy, but many by the glass options as well. Wine pours: generous but measured most of the time, everyone seems to be there for fun but it is a business so order often and tip generously ; ) Food options: Limited but changing but nice caviar options as they become available. Ask questions if you're curious about caviar options. Value: Excellent value for spending some relaxing time, a glass of wine solo or with a group, very well done. We will be back and will support them, hope you do the same.

They cater to supporters of the next door art cinema and offer specials with ticket stubs, so this would be a great spot to come after a film. It was a little confusing at first; doing the Bend Ale Trail I was expecting more of a beer centric taproom but ended up having a great experience here anyone thanks to the bartender and her partner who was sitting at the bar. You can enter here through the main door along the street, or through the alley entrance which is also worth a visit with outdoor cafes and restaurants and closed to traffic. I visited on a weekday afternoon so it otherwise wasn't very lively but had a great discussion about Bend, beer, and the other fun businesses in the area with the couple; thanks to them for the fun conversation and other recommendations. Also, thanks for the sticker swap. Spider City Brewing's main brewery is outside of Downtown and is on my list to visit next time. All beer on tap here is from them with maybe eight different taps. They do smaller pours or full pours; no real flights so I chose all three different small pours of beer styles I love. One was not my favorite due to the hop combination, but the other two were both excellent. Prices were reasonable as well. I was also told they live comedy nights and music in the space, and many customers enjoy picking a bottle of wine and sharing with the table. If any of those things appeal to you, this would be a fun place to visit in an evening.
