Chicken Burrata
Brett H.

Love love loved everything about the experience. Friendly and helpful staff. Amazing food, good free bread, BYOW and free parking! Tip: it's not really a private parking "lot" as others mentioned, it's a row of parking spots for the whole strip mall (under the under the 14th st viaduct.). BYOB. Two Italians run it. Great pizza. White table cloths but they are not pretentious. signature dish is: "Chicken Burrata" its chic parm w/ vodka sauce and a burrata ball on top. Very Good. Lot of cheese and only complaint is the ball is cold so ended up cooling off the pasta too and made the dish kind of cold. May need RSVP on w/ends (Resy). They have a rewards VIP program. Chicken Burrata (amazing)

Amazing spot. 1) I think this is a must visit Italian restaurant. Only issue is, it is kinda fancy inside. So, I felt a little awkward coming in on a rainy day with my hoodie on. 2) The must get item is the chicken burrata. It is beyond good. 3) Will try their desserts next like their rainbow cake and tiramisu.

I've been meaning to try San Giuseppe for years. I enjoyed the calamari, and loved the vodka sauce pizza. The best part too is that there is a parking lot, which is hard to come by in Hoboken. The service was great! My waitress was very nice. The ambiance was cozy and comfortable.

I love the penne vodka pie here so much so I wanted to try the vodka pizza without the pasta to see how it compared. It still had the bold, smoky flavor that I love, but I think the penne vodka pie is better as the penne gives each slice more satisfying texture. The vodka pizza had a very thin, charred crust so it wasn't as filling. We also tried their fried mozzarella sticks. These were good. They are made with seasoned homemade batter and are definitely higher quality than average. Their italian eggrolls are also very tasty.

Eggplant Parmigiana. It was ok

Easter Sunday dinner at San Giuseppe and it was worth the drive into Hoboken. It was quiet but 2 tables of families, a few take out orders, and the open pizza oven area kept things lively. The crispy fried ravioli with a creamy ricotta center served with a great marinara made for a great start to dinner. Food served hot makes all the difference so we enjoyed it. For main I had eggplant parm with the great marinara and fresh mozzarella. I appreciated it being served hot but it was missing something and found the taste too plain. It's served with broccoli and carrots but you can get pasta instead. The other entree was a teriyaki salmon, yes an Asian style dish in an Italian place and yes my husband got it. Taking the chance payed off and it was good, fresh, nice sauce served with a delicious rice with some flavor that we couldn't figure out. We were 3 for 3 on the great temperature! Even though we were stuffed, we just had a feeling the tiramisu would be good and it was! The place was mostly empty so service was fast and efficient. We'll be back with the kiddos.

Chicken Burrata

San Giuseppe is a (almost literally) hidden gem in Hoboken. In my handful of experiences, I'd put their food up against almost any Italian spot in Hoboken. The Chicken Burrata is the star, one of the best dishes I've had in Hoboken. Penne topped with thin crispy chicken cutlets, coated in a rich vodka sauce, and served with fresh (made in house I believe) burrata on top. It's incredible. Huge portion, worth every penny. Regardless of what else you get, if someone at the table orders the chicken burrata then you'll leave highly satisfied. And Giuseppe is a damn nice guy as well.

Now I know I'm from the Midwest but this is the best chicken cutlet sandwich I've ever had. Will be returning for this sandwich.

Love this place. The lasagne and eggplant parm are amazing. You also have to get the rainbow cake for dessert. And they're are BYOB!

I've been back to San Giuseppe's a few times now and it remands a solid restaurant and has improved greatly since my first few visits.

The Pizza Shop by Flour - Mexican Street Corn (~$34)

The Pizza Shop by Flour

A friend of mine had been saying that she wanted to try Flour, a restaurant that I adored, so I…read morequickly snagged a reservation and made plans to introduce her to it. While the place had outdoor seating, it was a bit too warm on that day to really enjoy it, so I grabbed us a table inside instead. The restaurant was very dark with only candlelight to illuminate the menu. The acoustics were also not amazing, as the room was extremely loud. However, aside from that, the space had a really hip, seductive vibe. It was also no longer BYO and now offered all sorts of unusual wines, craft beers, and intriguing cocktails. Like on my last visit, we were blessed with a really professional, friendly server. He was a complete delight and indulged my request to try tastes of both the prosecco and Grüner Veltliner before committing to one or the other. Though both wines were complex and delicious, I selected the crisp Casa Coste Piane "Col Fondo" Prosecco from Veneto, Italy. My friend and I decided to share two pasta dishes. The Cavatelli was served with a Moroccan-spiced lamb ragu and topped with sprinkles of sheep's cheese from nearby Nettle Meadow Farm. I was told to mix the cheese into the rest of the ingredients, which were warm and allowed it to melt into a gooey delight. The lamb sauce was so multi-dimensional and really paired well with the funky cheese. It was a delicious plate. We also shared the Triangoli alla Trapanese, which was essentially triangular shaped ravioli that were stuffed with goat cheese. The delicate dumplings were then plated with fresh black mission figs and drizzled with tangy Villa Manodori balsamic vinegar. It was such an unique pasta creation that was truly another winner. Though I sampled less items than on my last trip to Flour, I loved every moment of my experience. From the cool crowd and buzzing atmosphere to the modern Italian food and new beverage list, the restaurant was a real gem.

I came with a small group on a Tuesday night. We started off by sharing the whipped ricotta and the…read moreHamachi crudo. I was a big fan of both, especially the ricotta, which was so incredibly creamy. For the mains, everyone's fresh-made pasta was excellent. I ordered the Mexican street corn, which was unique, flavorful, and delicious. I also tried some of the spicy rigatoni and loved it. We ended the night with the s'mores dessert, which was rich and chocolatey. Also, the fact that the restaurant is BYOB is a huge plus! The only downside was that I lost an item during our visit. I had a really hard time finding their contact information online, so I had to go back in person to ask about it, which was a bit annoying. Ultimately, they weren't able to recover it, but the food itself was still outstanding.

Sooo worth the wait! Even if the line looks long it's not too bad - came here on a Friday night and…read morethe wait was maybe around 20 minutes to order, and then another 15 for the pizza slice to be ready. Food: The L'industrie slice is divine - creamy burrata and prosciutto, perfect ratio on top of a thin crust pizza. I'm not usually a pizza person, but this slice was actually the best piece I've ever had. Also tried the truffle and mushroom flavor - not bad but I think I'll try something else next time, just wasn't super memorable. Service: Counter service to order and they call your name when your order is ready. It's a bit hard to hear sometimes since there's music playing and a bunch of people waiting. You do have to be patient as it's not always in order. You can also see them making the pizza in the back, and they were so nice and said hi! Vibe: This place is like a pizza club! They play some cool music to vibe to, standing room only, and everyone is just there enjoying some great pizza. Pretty fun environment, turnaround is fast to make room for new folks.

We ordered online for pickup to avoid the lines and arrived within 10 minutes of our scheduled pickup time, yet the pizza was already completely cold. Pizza shouldn't get cold that quickly. We also paid extra for hot honey and specifically confirmed with the staff that it would be provided on the side for us to add ourselves, but it was missing from our order. We only realized this once we sat down to eat. Overall, I wouldn't return or recommend this place. John's of Bleecker Street is a million times better!!!
