Plain Slice

Yeah I went back and I got the meatball parm: A bright but savory sauce, generous meatballs and a surprise garnish of basil on top making it an aromatic delight. Best parm I've had in years. Get the parm everyone.

So, I restarted going back to Pompei once I heard the business had new owners. I'm pleased to say the pizza is still fantastic and now they have their own baked goods!! the space is still open and welcoming, the staff is super friendly and always a pleasure interacting with . The pizza is thin but crunchy and super tasty. Two slices came out to $5.50! I gotta tell you their pizza is fantastic . I need to buy some of their baked goods next time I'm in there. It's going to be such a great local pizza spot and i'm excited to see how the community comes together to make this place awesome . please stop by and grab a slice and try their pudding for me

We were sad when Pompei closed down, but ever since it reopened under new management it's been even better. The pizza is delicious, the wings are great (the naked ones are better than the breaded), the tira misu is amazing, and the cannolis are also very good. The owner is great and the staff are all friendly. They recently started offering breakfast on weekends (maybe only Sundays?) and I included a picture of their breakfast pizza which was a fun addition to the menu!

Cacio e Pepe risotto ball

Went to a wine pairing event here, January 2024. I remember this pizza spot a million years ago when I lived in the area, nice folk, nice vibe, consistent quality, and they kept it all simple and reasonable. Lo and behold, the new owners understand that. They reopened with the same vibe and attitude, respectful to the area, and the quality. Yay! The tasting felt like going to someone's grandma's house. She was gonna give you lil samples, but you were still gonna leave stuffed & boozed. The wine was flowing, matched perfectly by Notes INTL, and everyone warmed up and mingled in anticipation. I had a Cacio e Pepe risotto ball filled with creamy ricotta... lawd... it was heavenly-ly crispy edged with soft wonderful cheesey insides, a dollop of tomato sauce to rest on, and a lil shredded cheese to let you know they cared. I knew from this taste of tomato sauce the rest was gonna be excellent. Someone spent time on that sauce. A Winter Slice (pancetta, preserved fig, caramelized onion. And this is what's gonna make me get off a bus to get a pie and get a rideshare home. The crust on their pizza is perfection. Not so thick to make you guilty about the cardio you should of done, but crispy enough to work with any topping and not dominate the toppings. I had a piece of focaccia earlier with the lil plate of charcuterie at the start of the event that was dreamy. It was then I realized it wass gonna be a great nite. Spicy Lumache. Pasta looked simple, sprinkled cheese, a ll basil. But the sauce?! not only had a perfectly leveled kick, (calabrian chili) but was Kick-Ass! The lil scoopy shape of that pasta gave great mouthfuls of dynamite sauce. I wanted a spoon and a sofa seat. I looked around for a chef to hug. Now granted, some of this stuff may not be on the menu when you go, this was a special event. But that sauce? that crust? that attention to flavor?! That's not special event exception, that's character. I don't live there, but I'm going back, with or without a bottle of wine. Go!

Delicious Sicilian Square Pizza

Bianca the friendly cashier was lovely and recommended the delicious Sicilian margarita slice. Great balance of fresh mozzarella and sauce with a hint of basil that wasn't overpowering but very complementary. Chill ambience nice pop music playing, plenty of seating, and nice sunlight.

This is a niche, even unassuming, option on the menu, but the ingredients alone are intriguing and suit my taste perfectly. The pizza was baked to order and eaten fresh; the heat and smoky aroma were satisfying. The crust was thin, yet still achieved a perfect balance of crispy crust and soft, chewy interior. A thin layer of cheese provided just the right amount of creaminess; the Brussels sprouts offered a subtle yet rich flavor, while the salty umami of the marinated anchovies occasionally shined and, accompanied by a very subtle hint of brinyness - seafood lovers will appreciate it. A squeeze of lemon juice brought a refreshing twist to the pizza, making it a perfect accompaniment to seafood. However, a touch of lemon was recommended; otherwise, the acidity will overwhelm all the layers of flavor.

Around the corner and there is more seating there. I made a reservation and they honored it even though we were about 45 mins late, (oops!) but I completely appreciate them getting us in. We ordered kale salad, and garbanzo beans to start and meatballs then a margherita pizza.... everything was delicious and fresh. The quality was def there! My only complaint is the tight spaces , you're all up in each others spaces but it's not all bad. Also we ordered our kids Shirley temples and they charged us for "mocktails" meaning they were $7 each! For some sprite and a few cherrie?! Excessive! You've been warned lol. If you knew me, I always considered pizza as a separate food group aka the sixth main food group! Established in 1982, this small family-owned cash-only restaurant has been a beloved neighborhood staple known for its authentic Italian pizza along with other Italian dishes and a cozy and family-friendly atmosphere. With a glut of pizza joints, how would this pizzeria from Larry and Joe compare to others I've tried in the neighborhood!? PURCHASE [ONION RINGS/STRAWS/STRINGS ALERT - 3.5 of 5.0 STARS] Onion Rings ($5.00): A large container filled with oddly similarly-sized rings, these were hot, medium-browned, semi-crunchy, and didn't have a tendency to crumble when bitten into while the onion ring (not sweet Maui) stayed intact. This was simply an impressive pie, indeed! https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw&start=72&select=-5ich-E3lcSWgrzXYPVisA SERVICE I called ahead and placed my order with a friendly gentleman whose name I couldn't recall. I was told it would be ready within 45 minutes which was fine. I arrived a bit early to a very busy pizzeria, to which I waited an extra 15 minutes before my order was done and packed up. No worries, as I watched TV and simply observed the "mayhem" in this place. I wasn't in a hurry, so all was good - grazie! PARKING (Street; N/A this instance) This was an easy flat 20-minute walk from my friend's place. There was one TV (volume on) while there wasn't any background music. https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw&start=48&select=4WAmbzYptvChB1edodHcSQ ATTIRE Totally casual, so I would normally be in a t-shirt, boardshorts, and flip-flops. OVERALL Larry & Joe's Pizzeria was an incredible example of a close-knit family eatery that was lovingly supported by the neighborhood and vice versa, which gave me the warm-and-fuzzies. From tasty food, large portions, reasonable prices, good menu selection, and wonderful service, this place hit all of the feels. And, I always loved supporting small businesses whenever possible. I found very good value based on the prices, service, and experience noted above (TOTAL paid experience was around $54.00 BEFORE any discounts and/or tip). Sadly, they were CASH ONLY (my only knock), so no AMEX! 4.0 STARS

We also added a spicy and a grandma slice. The penne ala vodka was amazing. The noodles were cooked perfect and the sauce was amazing. The pizza is thin crust, and despite the different types of slices, the regular slice was my favorite. A shout out to the garlic knots which were terrific. The eggplant was very good, but the sauce and the sauce for the garlic knots to dip, were a bit too sweet for me. The eggplant came with a huge portion of spaghetti. Now I don't know if the sauce in this pasta was the same as the eggplant, but I enjoyed this side pasta very much. This was a very nice meal and I would have no hesitation ordering from them again. Short version: I came to New York for the first time and was excited to try Krispy Pizza after seeing all the Instagram hype. The guys online seem personable, and the pizza looks super fresh. The real-life experience was the opposite. I wasn't greeted when I walked in -- just had about 5-6 employees staring at me. All of the pizzas were already sitting out on the counter, and they just warm up whatever you pick in the oven. We ended up getting 5 different flavors to try out. To wrap it up: this was my first-ever "New York slice." It was good, but not great, and definitely didn't live up to the Instagram hype. I would be down to try their Brooklyn location to see if there's any difference -- but the problem is, I'm visiting, and there are dozens of other pizza spots in New York competing for your business.

I came to Napoli's in Hoboken to satisfy my craving for some casual and homey Italian food - and…read morethey did just that. We tried the 1/2 vodka (add pepperoni) 1/2 spicy buffalo chicken pizza in the personal size, as it seemed to be two of their most popular pizza flavors. This "personal" size pizza was actually quite sizable, 3 slices of each flavor and definitely enough to share alongside our pasta. Both flavors were good, but maybe my expectations were too high. The vodka sauce was flavorful, but I was a little disappointed by the amount of pepperonis they gave us when we added that topping to one side. The buff chicken had a good classic buffalo flavor but wasn't that spicy, and came with your choice of either ranch or blue cheese drizzled on top. Although a little soggy as expected, the pieces of fried chicken tender on the pizza were well coated in Buffalo flavor. However, the Blackened Chicken Pasta honestly blew me away. Tons of large chicken pieces, peppers, and onion all tossed together with penne in a creamy Cajun sauce. The blackened flavor really came through and this pasta was so yummy and satisfying, while not being too heavy or overly creamy. Penne was also a perfect al dente! My only gripe with this establishment was the cleanliness. Our tap waters had a pretty bad taste, I actually ended up ordering a Coke as I did not want to drink the water. It smelled a bit sour in the air as well. However, many of the best family run restaurants out there are often not the cleanest or nicest ambiance, so I wasn't expecting top tier hygiene - but the bad water taste made me slightly uneasy. Our server was very attentive and patient with any questions we had, and made our overall experience wonderful. It seems like this is a really popular to-go spot for locals in the area, the dining room is smaller but decorated with cute NYC subway theming which I loved as an MTA enthusiast. Would return for the Blackened Chicken Pasta!
