Haven't been here in ages but decided to come back since I moved back to SF. Called to make sure they did GelX and I got it done but omg the worst thing ever. The guy wasn't applying them correctly and I knew he was gonna let at least 2-3 nails lifted and easy to pull off. A week later you can see under my nail beds the skin lifting off and the tip of all my fingers numbing so bad that I can't feel my fingers. The guy let the gel run down to my skin and didn't remove before curating it and it caused a chemical burn on my fingers. Two weeks now and I have hangnails and all damaged fingers. They skip steps just to get you in and out. No cuticle softner to clean and cut cuticles. They don't even wipe your nails with alcohol to make sure they are dry and clean before painting. So by day 3-4, they start chipping. This lady wanted me to just dip my hands in pure acetone to remove gel! I denied it. NEVER has anyone been soooo lazy! Zero F**KS given what fumes I'm inhaling into my lungs and what hazardous chemicals will penetrate my pores. They are also inconsistent. After my horrible experience with this lady, i asked for a receipt and she said she couldn't give me a copy. Yet Liz just charged her client and gave her a copy of receipt. But I cant get a copy of mines? I will NEVER go back here! Go elsewhere and save yourself the time and money for a descent nail place.

The salon itself is quite small with pedicure chairs on one side and manicure tables on the other. The back has an area for their other services. It looks quite old and outdated but that isn't an issue for me if service is great! I had the most *painful* pedicure here. I ought to think getting your nails done should typically be a relaxing experience because I'm paying for a treatment essentially. Sure, there may be a few nicks here and there occasionally which is not ideal but still fine. My nail technician drilled the heck out of my cuticles and it was extremely painful. She was using the same drill bit that she was using to file off my gel to also drill my cuticles (which were not dry by the way after the soak!). It seems like a potential for an infection and it felt sore for days after. She tore up the sensitive cuticle area around all my toes. Near the end, she also used the cuticle nipper to nip some skin between my toenail and my toe and caused it to bleed. To make it all worse, the pain was not even worth it because the polish job was extremely sloppy. There were areas missed that I had to point out and it was very uneven. I would have had a better experience and result if I had just done this at home by myself. Two stars since they were able to accommodate me same day but would really rate this as a one star place. I wouldn't recommend it -- at least not for a pedicure anyway.
