They did a fantastic job and were so quick. Gel removal, builder, and gel manicure in under an hour. Even though they were fast, I didn't feel rushed and they used a hot towel to rub off the extra oil after the mani. My nail tech was really knowledgeable, too, explaining what gel x is to me, since another customer wanted it and I was curious. Not a service that I personally would want, but good to know what it is. Another person came in with a broken nail and her tech remembered the color blue that was used in the manicure. I had to book this place due to almost everywhere else being closed for Easter Sunday. (My bad!). There were a few things I found off about my experience here at Glossi Nail Bar. 1. I'm use to having a clean towel draped on the table and where I rest my wrists when my nails are being worked on but there was no towel. 2. Usually, my nails would get soaked before work is to be done but my fingers didn't get soaked. 3. The nail technician (i believe her name was Liz) didn't clean my cuticles at all. I have come here 4 to 5 times already. Their pedicure work is great, especially Wendy! She is very thorough, makes sure the polish or gel is on the entire nail and shapes perfectly. $35 for regular polish and $10 extra for gel. I've had my nails done by Lee also and he is very skilled, but I noticed a lot of lifting this time around. I decided to go back and request for the lifting to be fixed as it had been less than a week. Liz did my nails this time and she tore up my nail beds. I was burned really badly at least 10 times with the drill JUST in this one session. She drilled my lifting really aggressively and into my natural nails, then added the acrylic on top. Then when shaping, she just drilled ALL the acrylic right off and into my nail bed, saying it's necessary for the nails to stop lifting. You can see that my natural nails are peaking through the cuticle area, red and inflamed from over-filing. I usually love this spot but I won't be coming back after this experience. It sucks because I thought they were a reliable salon. Now I paid $62 for ugly, damaged nails that I'm stuck with for the next 3 weeks. read more

I recently got a gel manicure and a regular pedicure here. The sweet elderly woman who did my nails was very kind, which made the experience pleasant. However, the quality of the manicure was disappointing. Once the gel polish dried, I noticed small bumps on the surface, and they didn't have the color I initially wanted. Unfortunately, the gel didn't last long--after just a couple of days, it started to crack, lift, and slightly peel off. I have been knowing the owner Liz for over 6+ years and have been going to her since. I've had a couple nail technicians i've been going to consistently but majority of them have left. Lua is amazing! Came in on a Wednesday afternoon after making an appointment and there were about 2 others customers so it wasn't busy! Lua was very detailed with her job -- filing, painting, etc. and took her time with my nails. I've been here previously to get acrylics from Liz which was a really good experience! She took her time to perfect the almond shape and constantly asked about my opinion. Unfortunately my last experience here was not the best. It was my first time asking for Gel X nails at this salon. I'm familiar with the application of Gel X nails, the nail tip is supposed to be glued and applied throughout your natural nails. The woman who applied the gel x tips was a sweet older woman, but was not careful about the application and the nail tips were only flat and covered the outer edges, leaving the middle hollow, allowing a gap between the tips and my natural nails which isn't supposed to happen. See photos attached! On two of my nails she applied the gel x tips VERY crooked which was painful and put a lot of pressure on my nails. She tried to continue with the rest of the service but I had her redo them. Liz finished off my color. I would have asked for the application to be completely redone, but I squeezed in this nail appointment hours before my international flight lol. I suggest booking with Liz for acrylics, anyone else maybe just a simple manicure. read more

I've been looking for a new nail for a while. And stumbled across this one on a Monday since it's not too far from home. Upon walking in the nail techs were talking/yelling at the top of their lungs to each other when I came in that no one greeted nor noticed for a few minutes. Of course when they noticed there was no greeting just a "what you want". I asked for a gel fill and cut down. She move a lady and tell me to squeeze in to her seat. Really bummed about this place, seems to have gone downhill quickly. I came here with my husband when they were relatively new and had such a great experience. They were fast and did a quality pedicure with great service. Plus the paraffin foot mask, which is said to be included with every pedicure, felt amazing. The past few months that I've been they've rushed, chatted in a way that made me think they were making fun of me and worst of all one nail tech laughed at my shorter fingernail that had be injured years prior. I brought a family member here today hoping that the spa pedicure with parrafin mask would overshadow any service issues but it wasn't included. My last gel pedicure was here a month ago and I came in with only 4 toenails still polished. I asked for regular polish for my pedicure and was told I'd be charged $8 for gel removal. No parrafin foot mask, the water was freezing cold even after I told the nail tech 3 times it was too cold (she didnt touch the water to test it, I eventually just gave in and settled for cold water bc she seemed annoyed) and to top it off, there were nail clippings all over the floor. I was recommended by my girlfriends while visiting the area to come here and I was not disappointed!!! Liz did an INCREDIBLE job with my nails. She was patient, and while busy, she did not make me feel uncomfortable for being indecisive about my nail design. She was able to help take off my old nails which were a nightmare. I cannot recommend this place even though the outcome of my nails were decent. A friend of mine got an infection after coming to this place so I stopped going here. 2 years later I try it for myself and I can say that cleanliness and hygiene are definitely questionable here. 1. They seat you in chairs that are dusty, unkept, and unclean. They don't even take the time to dust away the fly aways. 2. The bin of colors to choose from are covered in nail dust. Disturbing. 3. The lady did NOT pull any tools from a new wrapper. I saw her pull it from a little bin. I'm honestly not even sure if the tools she used on me were new and it was actually quite scary the entire time-and even now writing this review. I hated sitting there having thoughts it wasn't new. 4. They washed the scrub they put on my legs with the dirty water inside the pedicure bowl...I was hoping it was a warm towel but I thought wrong. I usually come to this place and have a good experience, but today was really different. In the morning I called to ask how much was an acrylic french tip and gel pedicure. The young lady at the phone told me 47 for the french tip, then to my understanding as i am getting my nails done it's an extra $15 as what the man told me while he was doing my hands. I refused it since she told me the wrong price and continued with white acrylic. My toes. Oh my gosh, i always come here to get my feet done, i told the lady if you cant make it square enough then just put acrylic on the big toe (i usually always do this but they tell me that i don't need it) So when i asked for the acrylic on my big toe she said it was square already and insisted to proceed with my nails. My toes do not look like how they usually do, poor job at painting nails as well as not finishing with a clean job. I'm so upset. My acrylic nails are so thick on the side, and not cute what so ever. YIKES. where should i start... i came in a little before 2pm after placing an appointment via phone. I waited 45 minutes before I was finally seated. my problem with this salon was that the service (customer service as well as quality of work) was subpar and just really unprofessional. I'm not one to write Yelp reviews, so for me to take more time out of my day is very telling of their service. to keep it brief, they were understaffed (the lady doing my toes told me), yet they still kept taking in walk-ins, in addition to the appointments that already existed that day. they'd tell customers to come back at a certain time and when they did, they'd be asked to wait an additional 30+ min. i was there from 1:45p until 4:35p (mind you, I called in advance!) when it would usually take 2hrs AT MOST for a simple full set acrylic + pedicure. to deal w the walk-ins + appointments, the nail techs would go back and forth between clients and work on everyone at the same time. my nail tech had me choose a nail color for 35 minutes, and i already knew what i wanted coming into the salon. as for the quality of my acrylic nails specifically, SEE PHOTOS ATTACHED. i wish i got my nail tech's name because they're not all rude/careless, but my rude nail tech hurt me MANY times even after i told her so. when i tried to tell her about the crookedness of my nails, she fixed one of them but said that the other ones would be fine once she files them down (they were most definitely still crooked.) when there was fuzz on my nails, she would see it, paint OVER it, then complained to me that i touched my nails before they dried. i touched my fingers to my skin (did not touch the nails at all) and i saw fuzz on her nail polish brush various times throughout the session, so it clearly wasn't me. she rushed the entire process and managed to cut me, speak condescendingly to me, and overall showed carelessness and unprofessionalism towards me, in addition to the subpar quality nails she did for me. OVERALL/ tl;dr, I would not recommend this place if you're an avid acrylic nail customer, or even just as a place to get your nails done. your time is not valued and the price does not match the quality/service. My gel manicure started chipping & lifting the NEXT day after their service. I wanted a full refund, went there specifically to show the proof, I stated I didn't want their "fixing" but instead of accommodation I received bullying and accusations of being a lier, also unspecific threats by saying: "I will remember you!" This came from a woman who greets you at the entrance. I felt so intimidated that at some point I said loud I need a police. Since they cannot handle dissatisfied customers gracefully, instead they falsely accuse, intimidate and bully and they cannot treat such customers like humans (other reviews also prove it) I decided the best way is to dispute transaction in my bank (as far as I know, bank takes note of every dispute request) and I am also going to file a complaint in Department of Consumer Affairs and also in Better Business Bureau. There is no other way of communicating with such a rude representative and I see similar complaints from other reviewers. Looks like it was a good place before but going downhill now. read more
