This time I decided to do a Gel X because I heard it's better on your nails. I've been going to Sassy Nails for a long time - to Rachel who I love. I took my teenage daughter for her first ever pedicure and the male nail technician was awful. He seemed clearly bothered doing her nails, giving us a look of annoyance and sighing when we asked any questions. Her white nail polish looks uneven and her nails are not even. Okay so I walk in for a gel pedicure around 11am and get a chair pretty quickly so I can start to soak my feet. However, the male nail technician was incredibly rough with my toe nails. I would flinch in pain and he did not respond. He then got visibly and audibly frustrated as he was messing up the French tip design. He loudly sighs! I asked if everything was okay and he responded "Your toe goes like this" I'm just left confused. He then starts to rub hot stones on my feet, he merely grazes them for a few seconds then stops. I was so happy when I moved a block away from a nail salon, that didn't last. The way they greet you feels like they're doing you a favor, the way they respond is even worse. They can have you waiting an hour after saying 5 minutes and my nails end up chipping within a week. read more

They were fairly slow and I was seated upon entering. They have a wide selection of colors to choose from for gel. The guy who did my nails was very patient with me as I kept asking for my nails to be filed a little shorter since some were uneven. He took his time prepping my nails. I used to go all the way to Redwood City to get my nails done with my mom, but since checking out my neighbourhood nail salon, I have been a regular customer of SASSY NAILS. Located at the Bayhill Shopping Center, Sassy Nails is just a ten-minute drive away from my house. Not only are they conveniently close in proximity to me, their location comes with a spacious private parking lot and neighbours whom I frequent such as CVS, MOLLIE STONE'S, Starbucks, Bayhill Dental, and Dr. Kelly (our family optometrist). The nail salon always appears clean and brightly lit every time I visit. Service here is great - the staff takes their time to ensure that your nails look flawless. You may be serviced by two persons simultaneously, but they don't rush through their work. At my first visit, they recommended the hybrid gel manicure, claiming that it lasts longer than regular gel and doesn't peel. I have gotten this type of manicure done three times now. While I do agree that the hybrid seems of higher quality, less than a month after my second mani, the tip of one of my nails did, indeed, peel. This occurrence seems to be rare, though,...and the hybrid gel most definitely makes your nails super strong and also helps to maintain broken nails that have been repaired. They are right - it lasts! I'm sold on it. It's now my go-to type of manicure. One thing, though - I'm not sure why some manicures come with hand massages while others do not. I haven't received one with any of my manicures, my legs have only been briefly massaged with pedicure service. One leg massage was with hot stones, the other was not, so I'm a bit confused by the inconsistency. I suppose that I could ask about the m, but the language barrier is a bit strong, so I have found communication to be a little challenging because I don't fully understanding everything that is being said to me. They are so nice here, so I just smile and try not to inundate them with questions. Sassy Nails prefers cash payments; they apply a $1 service charge to all credit card transactions and if you spend $300 in cash, you receive a free pedicure. read more

Received a warm welcome this evening...and so did each customer who walked in. I love that. This is a big spacious clean salon, and festive with their holiday decor. Received quick service and was lucky to be able to have two technicians for servicing the regular pedicure and dip powder set plus a 10 min leg/foot massage extra. Probably a little pricier but for the convenience and quick service, I don't mind. The technicians were professional and courteous and I am happy with my red nails. Will certainly be back. read more

I really wanted to give this salon a chance. The staff are nice and welcoming, my gel pedi polish lasts long and the work is neat but 3 times, 3 different nail technicians were rough with their tools, drilled my cuticles burning and cutting my skin while removing existing gel. All of my toes bleeding and painful. I even quietly said Ouch as not to embarrass the nail techs in front of other customers. I came here for the first time because I am looking for another convenient location near where I live. I've always seen this place and decided to give it a try. I walked in for a gel mani and regular pedi and they started the pedi first. The person who did it was super sweet but she first cut my big left toe and added a cotton swab to prevent from bleeding out so I know she knew she did it. I didn't say anything because she was sweet. I had told her white for my toes and she proceeded to put Barbie pink. And when I told her no she looked at me confused like she didn't want to. Finally her coworker gave her white and she reluctantly painted them white. While she was painting my toe nails I was asking if they were going to soak the gel of my hand nails and they all looked at me confused. I explained how I did not like the machine to take off my nails because it makes my nails frail and causes them to break easily. They said ok and did not do anything after. Once the toes were done they then proceeded to start my fingers but I didn't have enough time anymore. They weren't very time efficient like other nail salons. They also don't put pricing anywhere and since this place is near YouTube I paid more than normal for a pedicure alone. San Bruno has plenty other convenient nail salon locations that are cheaper. Went on a Wednesday around 4 PM. No wait time, walk in. Got a manicure and pedicure and nail paint. The pedicure was very nice and relaxing and the lady did was quite friendly and did a great job. Another lady did my manicure and she did a good job as well but wasn't the most friendly. She was helpful but seemed to be in a rush. She did my nails meticulously anyway, I wanted a bit of art but she had stickers instead which eventually didn't look bad either, just not my exact match from Pinterest. My nails weren't that long at the moment and I asked her to make them square but I think they would have looked better in a more rounded shape. I'd go there again because it's close to my home and I don't have any complains unless I find another nail salon that is exceptional and closer to my place. read more

This place lack of skill. The nail tech does not understand what the ballerina cut is and failed to explain how the difference the nail polish will look on real nail and extension nail. And the person did my nail messed up one of the nail and he tried to file and correct the mistake but filed it too hard. I ended with a deep cut on my finger. I went to this salon this evening and I left extremely disappointed. I wanted short square with French tip, and left with uneven and thick nails. None of the nails are the same length and the corners are rounded. I do not believe these are worth $70, and I wouldn't suggest this place for hybrid gel. It's nice, big, and spacious, unlike closterphobic small nail salons, and plenty of free, easy parking since this is located in an outdoor shopping center. I'm happy with how my mani/pedi turned out. Just got a gel manicure at Sassy Nails -- Rachel was my gal and she did a phenomenal job! The shop itself isn't very big but all the technicians work very hard to get clients in and out. I called ahead to make an appointment and was seated immediately after walking in. The nice gentleman running the cash register gladly assisted with taking my gel polish off. Shortly after, Rachel came to my table and started working on my nails. She was so sweet and our conversation was very entertaining. She was even patient enough to help my pick the right shade (tried several polishes on my fingers before I actually picked one). The gel manicure was $35 which is pretty standard. This place really exceeded my expectations. I decided to check out some of the nail salons in my area and came across this place. Apple Maps says this place is located by Jamba Juice but it's actually located near Starbucks so don't make the same mistake as I did as I had to walk across the entire plaza after calling to find out where they were located. I decided to stick with gel manicure with some designs. The woman who did my nails was awesome! They did multiple layers and even ended with a hand massage and hot towel. I was having a rough day and decided to follow a good friend's advice and check out Sassy Nails. I walk into the shop, to a cacophony of crates and boxes, all dedicated to the world of nails. (Am I in heaven?) A young lady working on a pedicure turns around to greet me and usher me into an open seat. I pull out a Pinterest photo and I am directed to Kay who explains she can mirror the photoed nails if I wanted to add tips, or she could do a version of the photo on my nails. This thoroughly impressed me! Kay was willing to work with my long nails or simply duplicate the photo with tips. I decided to keep my nails and try the dip. In walks a regular who reminds me of my Godmother. She is warm and friendly as she proceeds to help me select a color and fill me in on her upcoming 30th wedding anniversary trip to Vegas. We chat for a moment before she is called away for her pedicure. Kay and the team whisk me away to a station to remove my pitiful attempt at gelled nails. Kay quickly soaked and removed the gel. Note: This lady is skilled with a nail drill. (If you are a drill chicken - like me- Kay will help you forget your fears.) Next, she applied the most relaxing nail process I have experienced in years. I am now a fan of the dip! Kay was polite courteous and nimble. She completed my nails in no time. And can I say they are BEAUTIFUL! See pics :) The entire time I was in the salon the atmosphere was chill. Music videos playing on the TV, but not so loud you could not carry on a conversation. Went in wanting a full set with acrylic but the lady convinced me to do gel extension and it didn't disappoint! It wasn't the shape i asked for (square with oval corners) but she was far into make it circle i didn't want to stop her. She got the chrome white color i wanted! But overall, the ambiance was eh, although it does look like they are renovating. There's no music or anything. She got on the phone 3 times on FaceTime and loud speaker which was a lil annoying. But she got the job done. My set came out to $75 which was a lil pricey but i think it's because i did the gel extension.. they got me hahah read more
