Worth the money. The past 2 times I've been were on Sundays and I was threaded right away. I have been getting my eyebrows waxed since FOREVER, so during my first time getting threaded...My right eye hurt so bad, but it was so worth it. It literally felt like what was happening, 2 strings rubbing against your skin which was uncomfortable, but the results were on point. I didn't have to come back until about a month later whereas, waxing would grow back in 2 weeks. I also didn't look as red vs. waxing. Just make sure you tell them it's your first time if it, so they can give you instruction on how to stretch your skin. read more

I also followed Amar from her previous location in Serramonte, which shows how much I trusted their work. However, over time I've noticed a decline in quality. I'm not sure if it's because they've built a loyal clientele or something else, but the attention to detail just isn't what it used to be. It's especially disappointing considering the prices have gone up. I completely understand inflation and don't mind paying more, but when prices increase, the quality should stay consistent or improve, not decline. I've since taken my business elsewhere. Place is very nice and clean. You are greeted very nicely. Thought it was nice until I saw my eyebrows. She made them so skinny and also left many hairs randomly closer to my eyelid. She did not try to pluck them with tweezers. Their prices on the website are different than what they charge you when you're actually in the store. Also I felt she was very rough when threading. I feel a burning sensation on my brow area. She kept passing the thread super hard on the same spot. I've gone to other places and they have never left my brow area feeling painful like this. Unfortunately there was a small nick on my left upper lid that I started feeling when I got home. It happens. My right side is perfect. She then kindly asked if I wanted to do my upper lip. I've always wanted to but did it once and got lots of pimples after, so I have been avoiding it. She reassured me and said we'd clean with water and not aloe gel (maybe I had a sensitivity to that?). They were grown out, and I even showed her a picture of how I wanted them to look (which was possible, since it was just my old eyebrows grown out a bit). I clearly told her NOT TOO THIN--not too thin on the eyebrow, the tail, or any part, matter of fact. I wanted them straight and symmetrical. But I genuinely walked out of there with brows so thin I couldn't even look at myself. I still paid--honestly, now that I think back, I have no idea why. My eyes were watery, and I thought maybe I'd get a better look at them in the car. I looked, and they don't even look like good thin eyebrows--she didn't even do "thin" right. They look horrible, and I obviously won't go back. I just hope she actually listens to how someone wants their eyebrows done next time, because I genuinely gave her a guide. Soooo glad to have discovered Amar's studio!! She was actually the first person to ever thread my eyebrows (which got me hooked) a long time ago! The studio is located at the heart of Westlake center and you can park on either side of the plaza or in the parking structure and walk over. You have the chance to book an appointment online through their website or walk in. Appointments are ideal since the workers follow their client agenda. To get eyebrows and upper lip threaded is $25 ($17 for eyebrows and $8 for upper lip). The process is quite fast if you're there to clean up your brows vs change the shape. I recommend anyone to get their brows threaded vs waxed because it helps slow the growth of new hairs and the pain is so minimal. Also I appreciate the ladies here wear masks and are still able to thread. I went in for an eyebrow threading which looked really good initially until the woman who did my brows (not sure what her name was) convinced me to do the lamination and henna. I've been wanting to get those done for a while so i agreed. I specifically asked for a light color for the henna. I told her I didn't want to get the henna anymore and she insisted. The henna came out way too dark and the photo is after I tried to wipe it off with micellar water and an alcohol pad. My eyebrows are still burning from the lamination and now I have redness and red marks around my eyebrows. The lamination itself was $75 (normally it's $100), so i guess you get what you pay for. The price alone should've deterred me from getting it done! But like any of these places the women are pushy when it comes to adding on services so make sure you learn to say no or else your eyebrows will be botched like mine. read more

I was a walk-in, I called ahead to see how the wait was looking and the person who answered said come on down there's only two people ahead of me. When I arrived she welcomed me in and asked me to check-in with their check-in machine. After doing so I sat maybe for under 15 minutes. It was my first time getting threaded so I was excited to see how this would differ from my normal wax. I also had a natural tint done to my eyebrows and threaded my upper lip, and chin hairs. They have music playing in the background that created a relaxing environment. Everything is sparkly and pretty. The lady who did my threading was very kind and sweet and had great suggestions. Honestly, why is she even doing brows? She has no skill, no precision, and clearly no business touching people's faces. It's insulting that she takes people's money for this.
