I've been here a few times and I love the atmosphere. But the reason for my one star is the desperate measures their servers are taking to make some money. I'm in the industry and I understand bad days but the waitress blatantly lied to us about our check being 315, I asked for the receipt and it was only 280 with the 20% autograt. Everyone I was with had just worked a busy weekend at my establishment and we were celebrating getting through it by patronizing this place I recommended. The server over served us drinks we asked for another round of shots... and she brought us our shots and another round of drinks. After we explained her error she told us "well they're here" and "there's no manager here tonight" . I'm not confrontational so after waiting 30-45 minutes for our last round we finished our hookah and left to go spend our money elsewhere. This place is too nice to have janky people representing it, and scamming consumers as I've seen in previous reviews. Ask for a recipt before you pay. Being industry it's unfortunate that she carried herself this way because she would have gotten more than an extra 30 from me and my party. On a good note there's other waitresses that I've had that have been attentive and the security team is super helpful. read more

So excited for a new place to hang out for some good food, drinks, hookah and chill vibes. Samsara was a wonderful experience. It has both indoor and outdoor seating. We started off with some appetizers, the spinach artichoke was so so good. I had the Anar MOCKTAIL, which btw they have an impressive mocktail menu as well as cocktail. The Anar mocktail was so refreshing and sweet. I enjoyed every sip. And talk about presentation! I am excited to go back and try the other drinks. The hookahs, wow. Just wow. Before i went i had heard how smooth and flavorful their hookahs were. And they sure didnt disappoint. I tried the ice hose which was super smooth and refreshing. This place is a gem in the heart of Downtown Phoenix!! My cousins and I were visiting for the week and had a hookah craving. We headed to a hookah bar I found in Scottsdale, because it was close to our AirBnb. Anyway, we got to the hookah bar in Scottsdale and it was DEAD. Not a single patron was occupying the place and that's not the place we wanted to start our vacation. We asked the bouncer if they thought it was gonna pick up a bit and I commend his honesty. He quickly said 'no, everyone has been going to Samsara for the past few weeks. You guys would probably have more fun, if you're okay with driving another 15-20 minutes.' A quick yelp search of Samsara and it looked like a decent hookah bar, so we started heading that direction. Upon arrival, we were greeted and taken to our seats immediately. The server, Makayla took our drink orders and said she would be back shortly to get our hookah and food orders. She came right back with our drinks and offered some popular food items and hookah flavors. I ordered the lady killer and love 66 hookah combo with a lamb kabob to eat. This hookah is the best hookah I've ever had.. no exaggeration! Perfect amount of lady killer and love 66, with no overpowering elements. What really blew me away was the service. The gentleman bring out charcoals would bring charcoals out for our table before we even realized they needed to be change.. he deserves a raise! The ambiance is perfect! The music, food, and drinks were all great. The only reason I'm giving 3 starts instead of 5 is because when I received my bill I noticed it was significantly higher than expected. I was never given an itemized bill. The server just passed me the card reader to pay. When I asked the waitress "how did we get to this to total?" She simply said "it was for the drinks you had". I asked for a receipt and she said "We can email you a receipt after you pay". (Which I thought that was super odd). I was still super confused, but because I didn't want to make the moment more awkward I just went ahead and paid. Well, when I returned on a different date the bartender (who was amazing) gave me a printed itemized copy of my bill before I paid which is when I noticed that 20% gratuity is automatically added. I'm 100% okay with that but I just felt like it was so shady that the first time I went the server didn't disclose that so that she could get tipped double. I'm just shocked that after she saw I was clearly confused as to how the bill was so high that she wouldn't just tell me a 20% tip was already included. I just felt super uncomfortable being asked to pay an amount without being shown the break down. read more

Ali the owner is the most amazing owner. Stephanie the server is my absolute favorite server, she always remembers my order and is always in the best mood. Came in on Friday the service was perfect from the second we walked in the security was easy to deal with as I am a concealed weapon carrier I noticed there signs saying no firearms once I walked in they were very accommodating as like just take it back to your vehicle your are in good hands with us I definitely liked that. I really enjoyed the ambiance and the Dj they had there, rnb throwbacks are the way to my heart! The hookah wasn't too bad, more on the pricier side if you're looking to go with just 2-3 people. I loved the smash cocktail, I recommend getting it in blackberry! Their Paleta margarita tastes just like a sour patch watermelon. The food at this place is great. You can order traditional food like chicken and Lam kabob or more traditional chicken tenders and fries. Also there side order of yogurt with little cucumbers are great with the rice and kabob. I've been to Samsara probably about 10 times since they've opened, and I don't see myself stopping anytime soon. The vibes are always perfect. Whether you want a fun weekend with great music and drinks, or a chill weekday with hookah, this is the place to be. The service NEVER misses. So far, my fan favorites are Des, Val, and Katrina. Whenever I see Des behind the bar, I make sure to snag an available seat. Her service and conversation makes you never want to go home. She's very knowledgeable behind the bar and their menu. If you don't know what you want, leave it to her to help you figure it out. Val and Katrina have serviced me a handful of times and they are absolute angels. They are very communicative and attentive. If you stop in, make sure to request any of these lovely ladies. As for their offers, I have yet to find a hookah place that tops Samsara. They have a wide variety of flavors, and upgrades. You can even make your own flavor. The food is perfect for the chill vibes, no matter what you get you feel at home.
