Prime striploin. We'll see how it stands up to costco prime
Mark Y.

Haven't written an update here in awhile... I like that they open early for Plus members at 8am. Still a little irritated though since before the world was ending with covid, they used to open at 7am for Plus members...much more convenient. The other thing that sucks is whenever you come before they open and wait in line for the doors to open, there is just no cross ventilation in that parking structure so it's always so stifling hot there. Always a lot of good stuff with Sam's though, I still think their rotisserie chickens are superior to Costco's. While Sam's birds are smaller, they taste way better. It's whatever they use in their rub that really puts them ahead. I also notice they've been upping their liquor game. This last time I came they had some really good bourbon options, right up my alley. They've upped their meat game over the last few years as well but I think Costco still has a big edge on them. As always, I'm happy to have both memberships since there are things that I can only get at Sam's and vice versa. Definitely happy to have been a member for decades now.

Rudely parked in a loading zone where he doesn't belong

In my fit of anger and irritation , I planned to reduce the stars to Sam/;s Keeaumoku to 1 but then I realized my irritation is not with Sam's directly but the customers, patrons and drivers of the establishment. Here is my story: Preface by saying the Covid Pandemic brought changes to our life which eventually became the current standard of living. Starting with the digital ordering followed by pick up and/or delivery of of your order.... Parking stalls were assigned for those who have curbside pick up orders. I've been using this service for some time now mainly for the convenience and the mental thought that I am not buying "stuff" I don't necessarily need or use (You know how that goes right? I think its referred to as impulse purchasing) My experience relates to the RUDE INCONSIDERATE SELFISH Patrons/Customers of Sam's Club who VIOLATE the curbside pick up parking stalls. There are 13 curbside pick up stalls at the Keeaumoku location of which today! 6 of the 13 and 1 Loading Zone area was taken by people who simply drove up, parking and left their vehicles to physically shop in the store. SHAME ON YOU HONOLULU SHOPPERS! WHERE IS YOUR ALOHA? If not for privacy rules, I'd post the photos of ALL the illegal parkers but it becomes a moot point as only I will be more or less satisfied that I got it off my mind. Sam's!!! Get off your okole and fix this! Patrons!!!! SHOW SOME CLASS PS- I did post one picture of a vehicle that blatantly parked in the loading zone.... no license plate but the pic illustrates what I'm saying

Love the scan and go app that makes skipping the checkout lines so much easier and faster. HOWEVER, I do not like the scan and go option for their food court. I ended up going to the line which I thought was formed out of people not understanding there is a scan and go feature to pick up food and there is an ordering line. Well turns out the 8 people waiting in line were for the scan and go and the one person ordering was for the actual check out. Seems ridiculous to have a process that is meant to be easier and faster, a lot slower. Also, the people working behind the counter always seem like they hate their job. I hope Sam's can figure out a way to get it going faster or more efficient that an order comes in and it's placed somewhere for people to just pick up.

Still enjoying Sam's Club very much. This time I found some new items, including the bubble milk tea mochi, and mushroom crisps. The only issue that I'm having is in regards to the milk. We go through a lot of milk in my house, so I typically buy all the basics when shopping at either Sam's Club or Costco. The last few times I went to Sam's Club, however, the milk was bad. It was not past the "Best Buy date", but on more than one occasion when I brought home the nonfat milk, the milk was already sour, and I had to dump it. This happened on more than one occasion. Clearly there's an issue with the storage/keeping the milk temperature cold enough during transport. This milk is coming from the mainland. Not sure if it's an issue with the 2% or the whole milk, because I only buy the nonfat milk. Disappointed because now I can no longer buy milk at Sam's Club. I'm hoping the management at Sam's Club will see this and address it.

Sam's Club is a membership-only warehouse club chain owned by Walmart, offering bulk and wholesale prices on a selection of products, including groceries, electronics, and home goods. It first opened in HI in July 1993 in Pearl City, together with Walmart. Its 2nd location in HI opened in Oct 2004 in Honolulu. This review is for the Sam's club at the Honolulu location. We first became members of Costco Warehouse Club when Costco first opened in HI in 1988. After competitor Sam's Club entered HI in 1993, there was always the question as to whether to have membership in both clubs or one club, and whether one club was better than the other. Since the get-go, we've found that it's helpful to have membership at both warehouse clubs, as both have pros and cons. For example, in our situation, Sam's Club provides these benefits over Costco: * Increased snack food selection. * Packaging of items appear smaller, thereby appealing to smaller households. * Offering of icee floats. * Covered parking for customers. * Longer open hours. * Curbside pickup allows for faster checkout. * Scan and go app allows for faster checkout. * Reward discounts can be applied directly onto the bill transaction; whereas, Costco's reward points are cumulatively added as part of the rebate amount issued to the member at a specific time to be redeemed in the warehouse club. However, Costco provides these benefits over Sam's Club: * No one answers the phone at Sam's Club during opening hours if you have any questions. * Sam's Club lacks sufficient staff in Customer Service in addressing customer issues (sometimes there is only one staff person trying to resolve a customer issue, which can take as long as it can until it's resolved) or on the floor addressing customer questions. * Sam's Club Customer Service could not resolve a problem with our membership card; nor could they call the national office to assist even if we were there and said that we had to call them directly on my own. * Costco's inventory has more higher-quality, higher-end products, esp in electronics, liquor, and organic foods. * Costco offers more generous return policies. * We don't always receive the "coupon" book in the mail; Sam's Club Customer Service staff said he hadn't received his either. And there are subtle differences between the two. For example, Costco appears more convenient, as it is only about 1 1/2 miles from our home; however, whenever we are in town, Sam's Club is convenient, as it is right in the middle of town. And while both carry similar inventory, we are satisfied with getting either one, especially when one is sold out but available in the other warehouse club. Hence, we tend to use both warehouse clubs, as both provide us with various options. Hours of operation are daily 9a to 8p; Sam's Club Plus (upgraded membership tier) members early shopping hours from 8a to 9a daily. Free covered parking available in private lot shared with other businesses. There is nothing in black and white that specifies that one is better than the other, as it all depends on your specific situation. We love that we are members of both warehouse clubs and use both to our advantage.

Loved the self scan and checkout option. Lots of parking available. Great variety of food and fresh seafood. More small option food and snack items compared to Costco

I've been to many Sam's Club around the country and this location is the busiest by far. The checkout line gets long but the cashiers are efficient and friendly. The store is clean and well stocked with a variety of merchandise. We especially like the Members Mark products. The Cafe gets packed during lunchtime

Sam's Club hot dog

2/25/26 lunch Sam's Club food court No fountain drinks The hot dog is so sad. No relish. ‍‍

This the free stuff -yesterday I got two snack size bags of fruity snacks but my friend wolfed it before I could take a pic
Julie-ann O.

This place is not hotdog friendly. The hotdog debacle continues... several months back I wanted to order a hotdog they told me I had to order it at the check out register or online, like what? Everywhere not just here, just don't understand people don't like change. If you're changing crap around make it very clear with signs vs letting ppl stand in another line. Tell us exactly where and how to order. I gave up and left. I did check out the app way later typed in hot dog and had to scroll past everything hotdog before getting to said "hotdog" but like I wanted to see what else was on that damn menu. Super stupid if you ask me and now it always looks empty. If you losing lots of business maybe go back to how was or allow both old and new way to order . Just saying.

Shopping at Sam's Club saves me time, mostly because I use curbside pickup. Even when I go into the store it's quick though, thanks to their scan n' go app feature. I just wanted to talk about their curbside pickup. I love how convenient it is. I place my order a day or two before and just wait until I get notification that it's ready. Over the past several years, I've only had a few disappointing experiences, like where they picked rotten produce. If you want them fresh & perfect, you have to go in and pick 'em yourself. I've edited to add that a few times, they took forever (45-60min) to bring my order out. Not really complaining because I know it gets busy, but those particular times it was just me and one or two other cars waiting. Twice, I've gone in to get it myself. They have also missed an item or two, but by accident. They've recently added more pickup stalls. Lately it's been good with 5-10 min wait times. They used to have 2 people running it. I'm guessing they added more employees to make it work efficiently. Curbside Pickup is always free for Plus members. For Club members, it's free on eligible items totaling $50 or more pre-tax (otherwise, there's a $4 fee per order).

Fresh slow grilled salmon prepared in the seafood section by the best griller, Corinne.
John N.

When at Sam's Club we always see if Corinne is working. She is the best salmon and fish griller. She knows exactly when the fish is done taking to account the drive home and the heating for later. It's never dry and so moist and tasty. She is very pleasant and friendly. Just the best. Keep up the great work Corrine. Sam's Club is lucky to have such an employee. 10/10 for the salmon and 20/20 for Corinne. Aloha.

Ami C.

I love the scan and go. It's one of the best features Sam's Club has. No meed to wait in line. Just go in grab your stuff, scan, pay and go.

Please have someone put away the carts for more curbside pickup parking!

Clean up the carts left behind so curbside pickup customers have more parking ! It's an eyesore

Cheesy breadsticks! New item at the food court.

How do I buy Cafe food? My phone does not take the app.

Go to any cashier, order and pay there. Then go to cafe and wait until they call your name!

Doe the Keeaumoku Store have an ATM?

Yes

Do you have the shop early hours for plus members on Saturday?

Yes

Do you have to be a member to go in?

Not really as you can tell the person at the front door that you are interested to join. They will direct you to the member counter but then you can also walk around the store.

What time is the bakery open until on saturdays?

Bakery keeps the same hours as the store but if you are looking to do a special order, you need to give at least a couple of days notice with your order.

What time does the photo lab open? 7am?

I thinking same time as the club opens. 10am.

I called her back as soon as I psyched myself up. Mom had a nervous laugh in her voice, so I braced myself even more... She explained that she and her classmates wanted to do something for the 88 graduates of their high school, Sacred Hearts Academy. They didn't want to give a perishable flower lei, so they thought that a yarn lei would be appropriate. What does that have to do with me? I attended Maryknoll School. Hah! Mom knows that I know how to make a yarn lei - and quite efficiently. I had made 100 lei for my nephew's graduation, so, what's 88 more? Mom also knows that I know where to get supplies at a reasonable price. She suggested that I call Max Imports and see if they're open. It's not easy saying "no" to mom. Thinking about all the sacrifices she made for me over the decades... well... you know... So, of course, mom was right. Max Imports was open. The phone was answered right away and the nice lady on the phone helped me so much. I told her that I needed to make 88 lei. She asked what school and figured out the colors: Yellow grosgrain ribbon - 3 spools White long eyelash yarn - 9 packages Yellow short eyelash yarn - 9 packages Total = $485.34, including tax I told the kind lady that I could be there in about an hour after getting cash from the bank - no problem. That was enough time for her to pull the items from the shelves. When I got to Max Imports in Kalihi, there was metered street parking and a free parking lot next to the warehouse. I went up to the table like she described and rang the "Apple Bell". She appeared quickly and I gave her the cash. She went back inside to get a receipt for me. I found out that her name was Alice. I had seen her before at the Douglas Trade Shows at the Neal S. Blaisdell Center. I had bought yarn and ribbon from them several times in the past. I had even come to this shop to get supplies. Alice was so knowledgeable and pleasant. She even helped me carry a box to my car! As we walked, I thanked her because I know that the prices at Walmart and Longs are higher. She added that those retailers wouldn't have the quantity I needed. She's right! So - if you need to make many lei, come to Max Imports for the best prices and service! Good luck!

It's certainly not surprising for the highest grossing, busiest Costco location in the world. What is surprising is just how quickly the checkout process can be, even with the huge number of people in line with the huge carts and dollies. The cashiers and assistants have the process down to a science, and no matter how long the line is, you're typically out in less than 15 minutes. Finding everything you need is always tricky, due to their practice of constantly moving items, and not having aisle numbers. If you can find an employee tho, they're very knowledgeable, and always happy to let you know if a specific item is in stock, and even help you locate it in the maze. Of course, you almost never leave with just the items you actually came in for. It's funny (or maddening) that on this trip, I had budgeted to buy $200 worth of durable food items to donate to the Hawaii Foodbank. Along the way I picked up just a couple off items for myself, and when I checked out, the total was $300. Typical, I guess. Once you're done, remembering where you parked (that's a whole other story) is another thing, but at least you're done. No wonder I usually only come here for the gas, lol.
