The chicken and waffles came with 4 pieces of fried chicken and waffles. The chicken was tasty and still crunchy even after we brought it home to eat. The Country Fried Steak came with sides and we chose fruit and pancakes. The country fried steak was good, the gravy was ok too. The 2 huge pancakes were moist and delicious! Added some butter and syrup and it was perfection! The Nutella crepes came with eggs, hashbrowns (or country potatoes) and 2 strips of bacon (or 2 link sausages). It also had a small side of bananas too! My daughter liked her crepes and it was a good thing it had the bacon and eggs to counter the sweetness of the crepes. I ordered the eggs Benedict with extra crispy hash brown, my partner got the chicken fried steak that came with a side of eggs, extra crispy hash browns, and pancakes. Very small diner serving and extremely packed menu featuring pancakes, crepes and other breakfast specialties. I know everyone is tired of COVID-19 precautions but nobody working in the diner was wearing masks which made me very uncomfortable. I brought a kid in for pancakes and he got the Mickey Mouse knockoff chocolate chips pancakes. It came in a Mickey Mouse head shape with one big face pancakes and two silver dollar sized ears, cherries for eyes and whipped cream scattered throughout. The kid ate the whipped cream and cherries and didn't like the rest, not even chocolate chips could tempt him to eat more. That's saying something. I'm not a big fan of carb heavy pancakes type items so I ordered the tuna melt sandwich and salad. combo. When I see the word "melt"in the name of an item, I expect there to be something melted in it. Not here. The sourdough was overly greasy which was doubly infuriating considering the sandwich wasn't even hot. Tuna sandwich was also listed on the menu so I guess those two items are interchangeable to them or something. Pretty disappointing. The service was nonexistent for long stretches of time. The first time the waitress came over to take our order, I asked for few minutes. That translated into punishment abandonment until I asked the busboy to get our waitress to come over, this was after I tried to make eye contact a few times. The only time we saw the waitress was after I asked for the check, then suddenly the refills and "how was the food" "do you want a box for the 4 fries you have left?" attention started. It's like she just suddenly remembered how the tip system works. So she actually knew what good service is supposed to look like but just chose not to do it until it was time to get tipped. Huh okay. When we left, we reeked of cooking grease. They need to increase the ventilation in there. So that, in addition to the lack of masks and mediocre food and service, I will not be returning. Even when they're busy, they still have great customer service. They always make sure to check on you to make sure everything is good. The food is always on point. The consistency of the food is always the same. I've never had a bad meal from them. Celina was our waitress today, and I've had her before, but she is so friendly. She always makes sure her customers are well taken care of! She is attentive in all the right ways! I appreciate her and her service as a waitress. Sammy's Stack House used to be the old IHOP. The ambiance of the restaurant is cozy and comfy. It feels like I'm visiting my grandma's home. It's small, but it doesn't seem like it once you're inside and seated. Came here on the weekend with a friend and as soon as we walked in we were greeted with an "we're not seating anymore people yeah we're stopping service" mind you there was still 1 hour left before closing and the store was empty. The waitress was rude and the cook behind the counter stared us down until we left. If you're going to close before the actual close time then consider changing your hours, I don't mind being told you're closing early because business is slow or whatever but I don't appreciate being given attitude when all we were looking forward to was a stack of pancakes. read more

Well it is a pancake house so that is what we had . I had bacon and eggs with buttermilk pancakes. My friend had the blueberry pancakes. We doth had Coffee and a mimosa. The eggs were just as ordered , bacon crisp with a nice Smokey flavor. The pancakes were light and tasty. Not doughy or dry. The blueberry cakes were generously served with blueberries throughout, blueberry compote and fresh blueberries as well as whipped cream. Mimosas were generous and delicious. The coffee was good and our server made sure to keep it filled . The restaurant was very busy most every table was full. The building is easy to identify as a former IHOP the sign stating " flipping at this location since 1950" obviously includes its time as IHOP. Parking is limited there is a covered outdoor dining area that was not in use . Restrooms were clean and updated. While it maintained a similar look and menu to IHOP I prefer the color scheme they have unbraced it is warm and inviting. The food is better than IHOP and the price was better. read more

They definitely have an extensive menu with plenty of options, but their main focus is on pancakes, waffles, french toast, and crepes...so basically this is a carb lover's dream come true! We ordered the chicken and waffles. The chicken was a little on the dry side, but paired really nicely with their waffles, especially topped with a little whipped butter and house maple syrup! We also tried the build-your-own-pancake combination, which is an amazing value. For just $10, you can choose any two types of pancakes, sausage or bacon, potatoes or hash browns, and two eggs. I originally opted for the strawberry/banana pancakes, but they came literally drenched in syrup. Besides being way too sweet, the pancakes themselves were soggy and somewhat doughy from being undercooked. Fortunately, the staff was nice enough to swap out these pancakes for some blueberry pancakes, which were much more palatable, although still kind of flat for a place that specializes in "stacks." Overall, the food isn't bad, but it's a bit reminiscent of middle-of-the-road diner chains. The service also leaves much to be desired. Our waitress was pretty good at the beginning of our meal and took our order right away, but kept forgetting to bring us simple things like a set of utensils, napkins, etc., which made us feel rather neglected. I do like how they give you carafes of coffee for your table so you can refill it yourself throughout the meal, which is a nice touch...but not sure it's enough to bring me back! Breakfast Burrito Tour Well, it's not open 25 hours, but it was open early on a weekday so that's good enough, I suppose. I called from the freeway and asked them to fire one up. "Do you want the chorizo and egg?" I was asked. "What choices do I have?" I replied. "Well, you could build your own, but that costs more." Chorizo and egg it was. About $10.50. Not cheap, but it's a full service diner so not surprising. It was ready when I arrived. I did not adequately question why there were two styrofoam containers in the bag. "Maybe one is salsa, napkins and what not," I half abduced. At the office I opened the bag and noted the three containers of salsa were dark, smooth, and in fact syrup. Why wouldn't Sam, whose house is a stackhouse, include a stack of flapjacks with your Burrito, dummy? It all made sense. But Tbh Sam-o you could hit me for 8 on the burro and keep your cake. Especially considering the burrito was the size of a hairless cat with no appendages. The potatoes (browns), egg, cheese, and chorizo were all spot on and abundant. It had cheese on top, too. It was the first and only true knife and forker of the Tour. But where Samuel overdealt in syrup (1 good sized cup for each of the 3 medium sized, fluffy, delicious pancakes), he underdelivered in chile (none cups of chile for each cat sized burrito). Partial credit for the fried serrano chili riding alongside the rotund tiburon de salchicha like spicy green Remora. This is a weekender--not suited for your "hey let's eat something at the break of dawn and then attack those keys".
