Brought my dress at Bride to be Couture and the seamstress at that shop was unable to alter my wedding dress the way I wanted. On top of that, they will charge a lot more to get it alter. Fortunately, I am glad I was able to find Same Day Alterations. The seamstress lady, Ema, was very nice and she was able to alter the dress the way I wanted and charged me less than what I would have to pay at Bride to be Couture. This establishment did a great job with my military slacks. I was not in a rush and told the worker that a 5 day wait is fine and was not in a rush. When I was required to wear my slacks a week later I was pleased with her work and happy with the 15 dollar bill. Please be aware my job was not difficult but if you looking at getting pants altered than this place is up your alley and won't break the bank. The one negative aspect I had was the potential language barrier that was evident; however, she did it get mad or frustrated with me but showed me the different options I could get done on the pants legs. read more

I went in to get the hem fixed on 5 pairs of pants, and she tried to charge me $12 each, when I said it was too much and that I would go somewhere else she said ok ok $9, I knew she was over charging me but I needed the work done and I was already there so I said ok. She asked that I pay the $45 cash on the day that I picked them up, which is completely fine, the only thing is when my husband tried to pick them up for me she tried to charge him more than what we had already established. This is the place if you want it done right This little shop, run by the owner and his wife, provides alteration services, dress design, and any other tailoring you may need. The difference is that the owner is a designer and everything is done with precision and an eye for quality. If you've ever lost a favorite garment because it was altered to fit but no longer hangs right, you'll appreciate what I mean. Or if, like me, you need a little help to figure out what little adjustments need to be made to make you look good, you'll appreciate the help you'll get here. I brought in a dress that fit but didn't quite look right to me. I was told that the flare in the back was uneven and affected the drape. A few adjustments and raising the hem about one inch and I felt like dancing on the spot. One last comment on pant hems. I had some Ponte knit pants hemmed by a well-known dry cleaner. The hem was apparently sewn too tightly and began to pucker after washing. Fabrics are tricky these days. I saved the best for last. Their prices are extremely competitive. My sister was a bridesmaid and needed a dress to be altered so that she can wear if for the wedding. Even though she advertises as same day, my sisters dress wasn't ready until the day before the wedding (two days after we dropped it off)! Not only that, but she switched the time on us. We had to send someone to pick up the dress because the time she switched us to was during the rehearsal dinner. She originally told us to go at 6 but she changed it to 7:30. The dress she gave us ended up not fitting my sister for the wedding! She was supposed to add a zipper and extra fabric, but the zipper was not added! When we went back to ask for a partial refund, she started yelling at us. She wanted to fix the dress, but by now it was too late. If you need someone reliable and if you're tight on schedule do not come here! Super disappointed with the customer service. read more

My only concern was I requested to pick up an item at a certain and it was written incorrectly on their ticket but not on mine so I had to come back later to pick it up. I needed my dress shortened for a wedding by Saturday and came here in a rush. It was a Monday when I dropped off my dress. I thought since it was called Same Day Alterations it would be done on the same day and I would be able to pick it up a couple hours later. Nope. The lady I spoke with set a date for me to pick it up on Thursday. I felt the lady cheated me out of my money. She charged me $35 bucks and asked if I can pay in cash...umm...damn that's pretty pricey to get my dress hemmed but I needed it done so I agreed. I asked for a receipt since I paid in cash and wanted to make sure we wouldn't have an issue when I came back for the pickup, but all she said was that the ticket that was hand written with the amount and number that matched the pickup number was the receipt. She was on the phone the entire time as I was trying to explain to her how I wanted my dress to look. All I could do was pray it came out the way I asked. I called to check the status of my dress on Wednesday and I think I ended up speaking to Ahmad. I asked if I could pick up my dress sooner. He was friendly and worked with me so I was able to pick up the dress that day. I'm giving this place 3 stars b/c Ahmad was nice enough to put a rush on my dress but if it wasn't for him I would've only given 1 star b/c the customer service experience with the lady was terrible. read more
