After picking them up, I was getting ready to wear the khaki coat on Saturday and noticed it still smelled like body odor. I also noticed two stains--one on the upper right chest and another on the lower left chest--so I wore the dark gray coat instead. The next morning, I brought the khaki coat back and explained the problem to the employee working there (guy with beard). I asked him to smell it, but he said it smelled fine. When I pointed out the two stains, he started arguing with me about why I didn't disclose the stains when I originally dropped the coat off. I have a 3-year-old son and, like most people, I don't carefully inspect every piece of clothing before taking it to the dry cleaner. I'm bringing it there to be professionally cleaned, so I would expect stains to be noticed and properly treated. I asked him to clean it again, and his response was, "OK, I'm gonna let this one time." That really bothered me because I've been a customer since 2019 and had never brought anything back or complained before. I picked up the coat again on Friday and wore it to an event on Saturday. During the event, I kept smelling something like dirty feet. Eventually, I realized the smell was coming directly from the same two stained areas on the coat. I tried wiping them off, but the odor would not go away. My wife even sprayed scented hand sanitizer on the coat just to make the smell more bearable. I'm very disappointed, not only because the coat still had stains and a terrible odor after being cleaned twice, but also because of how my concern was handled. A longtime customer should not be argued with or made to feel like they are asking for a favor when bringing back an item that was not cleaned properly. Unfortunately, I will not be returning if this is how customer concerns are handled.

I had an important interview coming up, so I dropped off my suit and shirt early like I always do....just in case something went wrong. This time, something did. When I went to pick everything up, my shirt was missing. I'm sure Kelly saw the look on my face while I was mentally trying to figure out how I was going to replace it before the interview. Before I even had to push the issue, she stepped up and made it right. She paid for a replacement shirt and comped the suit dry cleaning. About a week later, they found my original shirt attached to someone else's order, and I picked it up yesterday. Mistakes happen anywhere. What matters is how a business responds when they do. This is not unique to Prestige but can't figure out why this is so hard for cleaners to understand...if you take something out of my shirt, please put it back. And if you can't put it back, can you at least give me the collar stays so I can put them in myself?! Also--in one isolated incident--they charged me extra to try and get the wrinkles out of a seersucker shirt. I would have expected that a company that specializes in fabrics and fabric item care would know that seersucker fabric is BY DESIGN puckered and rough...but no amount of ironing is going to remove it! Most recently, I took in a well-made jacket with a zip-in vest that I've owned and dry-cleaned for years without a problem. When I picked it up, one of the zipper pulls had come off. Even more puzzling, that side of the insert had been sewn directly to the jacket. I brought it back. A manager was very nice, but seemed to suggest I was confused about how my own jacket was constructed when I asked why anyone would sew the insert in place when it still had two other working zippers. They removed the stitching, but despite having a tailor, said they couldn't replace the zipper pull. I got the jacket back with no apology, credit or other acknowledgment of the problem. This wasn't our first issue. On another occasion, they lost several expensive items my wife had brought in. After repeatedly insisting they didn't have them, they eventually discovered the clothes had been placed under another customer's name. Again, no apology or credit for the hassle. I get it, mistakes happen. What's disappointing is the lack of accountability when they do. After two significant problems, we're not particularly interested in seeing whether the third time is the charm.
