I needed two pairs of black stretch athletic pants shortened. I asked very specifically that the inseam be 26 1/2 inches (I measured similar pants I own) and the same amount taken up all around. I've come here a couple times over the last few years to get my bridesmaid dress altered. They always do a great job at a very competitive price. It recently cost me $65 to get my bridesmaid dress hemmed here, whereas other alteration shops were quoting me anywhere between $85-$125 for the same service. I've never owned a suit before and I needed to get an off the rack one tailored. Now this may have been my mistake for going to an alteration shop instead of a tailor but that's besides the point. First off, they didnt really acknowledge me when I first walked in. One of the ladies looked at me but didnt say anything. When I finally was helped, they didnt ask what I wanted. She went straight to hemming the pant legs and jacket sleeves. When I asked for her to slim the leg, she didnt do measurements but told me that she'd do it when she was working on it. I've never done this before so I thought it was normal. When I paid there was no real breakdown of the price. She just gave me a number. Went to pickup the suit and tried it on. Everything still felt baggy but they were still giving me a weird energy so I just left. Took the suit to the dry cleaners. Picked up the suit when it was done and the dry cleaner basically pointed out that they did everything wrong. He was showing me their stitches and how they weren't really straight. He even pointed out that they did the jacket sleeves poorly and brought over a good quality jacket to compare. He basically said that they hustled me. Lesson learned. read more

Never judge a book by its cover right? But I guess sometimes you have to or go with your gut. This place is unorganized. They have a messy shelve of customers' items for pick up. Some items are bagged, most are not, and some are chilling on the floor. I still gave the place a shot because I needed some jeans hemmed. I brought two pair of jeans here for hemming. One was ok, and the other was awful... the results make me so sad. The hem job is just poor. My jeans were not bagged and they were pinned together with my order ticket. When the shop owner or employee took off the pin, it snagged my jeans... They obviously don't care to take care of your items. It's really upsetting. Never again will I come back here. read more

I told her I have a dress that is too small and I really like this dress and if there's anything that she can do about it, she told me to go put it on and she said, I can help you and I said really because I really want to wear this for my birthday. Griselda really pulled through for me in a crunch. I was visiting from SoCal for my best friends wedding and the tux service I was using got the blazer sleeve size wrong (too long). This review is long overdue. I used to go to easy alterations for all of my alteration needs. They always did amazing work for a reasonable price. During my wedding prep, I decided to get a second gown for the reception portion but needed alterations done. Without hesitation, I turned to easy alterations. Unfortunately, when I picked up my gown, the alteration had been botched. All it needed was to be taken up with a small seam at the bottom. They instead created a whole new design on the dress, with a thick border and strings hanging out of the stitching. The alteration also did not line up with the lining of the dress. Ive included pictures here of their work. I tried to explain politely what was needed to fix the dress but one of the women that work there told me I didn't know anything about alterations and was wrong. I was a week out from my wedding and started crying a little, as they said they would do no further alterations to the dress. When that same woman noticed that I'd started tearing up, she told me to leave her business immediately and never come back. I was stunned at her reaction. I had never had anyone speak to me like that. No matter the situation, any challenge can always be talked through with empathy and kindness. The other woman working in the shop that was sitting next to her, leaned over to me and told me to shrug it off because the other woman had a family member that was sick and was dealing with a lot. I have a lot of empathy for situations like this but to treat a customer so rudely and unkind, was terrible. It made other customers uncomfortable to a point where they were trying to console me because they'd heard how the woman had treated me. I'd previously referred family members and friends to their business and after hearing about my experience, they no longer get their alterations done here. I luckily found a place that was able to quickly fix the dress that week before my wedding and I'm so grateful for that. The other place I had taken the dress to was shocked by the job that easy alterations had done and affirmed that it was a terrible job. read more

The one that was still a bit loose in the crotch area they offered to take in a little more without any judgement, hesitation, or additional costs. I've been using this shop for years now. I never knew that getting clothes altered was within my price range. It takes a dress or skirt that I've bought off the rack and turns it into something that fits me perfectly! I've gotten dresses, skirts and tops done here. I also had my wedding gown and a costume altered here too. My husband gets his pants done here as well (adding a bit more space in the seat, tapering the leg) - I can't rave enough about this place. One time, I bought a costume that was absolutely not going to fit me but I squinted and thought that maybe I could get some black fabric added to make it work??? There was enough material in the pleats to make it fit and still give me pleats!!! Also, the top was absolutely not going to fit but I brought a top that fit and they were able to cut the embroidery off and attach it to the shirt that did fit me - it looked like that is how it was supposed to come! Thankful to find a place nearby but when I asked how much to hem she took time to say $65. I had left message earlier and when she answered message said 45-55. Asked if bodice and sleeves need to be altered and they said no. Hem was poorly done and I had to rush to another tailor who fixed the bodice and lining so dress would look nice. 2nd tailor noted poor hem job and asked if they gave back a fair amount of material, but they kept Very disappointed and not use again. I have come to Easy Alteration on two separate occasions and have been very pleased with my entire experience, each time. For starters, Griselda (who I believe may be the owner) is a very nice lady and very customer focused. Whenever I walk in, she comes from around her work station to greet me with smile and gain an understanding of what I need. I am a first responder and have had to have my uniforms repaired for tears. Not only did Griselda and her staff do a superb job with fixing my uniforms, but they did them the very same day. The work quality was terrific and made my uniforms look sharp again.
